CHAPTER 56: You Still Don't Get It?

Saphira chuckled before looking down at the unconscious bodies that some Carmilla even stepped on.

"What about these people? Oh and that person trying to peek from behind the wall?"

She pointed with her thumb the man who went to report.

Archie and Asherton's faces turned dark while their smiles remained.

The one left conscious already wanted to fall unconscious seeing their smiles that weren't smile.

Those unconscious people were so sure when they wanted to attack her.

The jealousy and inferiority got the best of them.

That's right, this is what was killing most of the knights around the kingdom.

Around the Empire.

No, not just the knights but even the rest of the population.

Jealousy of her family background.

Jealousy of her connection.

Jealousy of her capability.

And now that they have something to pull her down with.

They didn't want to stop until they achieved their goal.

Until they felt that superiority feeling after pulling her down.

The crab mentality that will never escape a population.

You'll feel happy when they are lower than you.

But you'll feel angry when they are higher than you.

In the end, what did you do?

Have you really tried your best in every sense of it?

This is the question they had been escaping all along.

They didn't want to admit that they didn't do their best.

That in reality they couldn't compare to the effort and sacrifice she had put into this.

They always blame it to her talent.

That she can do this because she was a genius.

They looked away from all the training that she had done until her hands had turned rough.

All the books she had read until her nose had bled.

A young child taking things much more seriously than them.

Each and everyone turned a blind eye to this.

They were simply jealous and would be happier to see her fall.

The darkness that had always lingered in the hearts of the human population.

A darkness that have not disappeared no matter what time or year they were in.

"Dad, Grandpa," Saphira called out.

She didn't want to see anymore chaotic scene.

Or blood in particular.

"Didn't you come to test the sword with me? The open space is down stairs, let's go," she called them.

"That's right that's what we came here for," Carmilla followed before linking her arms on Saphira's.

The two of them started walking away and the other two followed.

The one left conscious was confused at how it turned.

Asherton and Archie Fiamma both looked like they will surely kill but it didn't happen.

"You still don't get it?"

He was shock to hear a different voice behind him.

Looking back it was the general of the western order, Kyne Birkham.

This wall was closest to the western side where he was patrolling.

"The reason why everyone was left unscathed was because she was stopping everyone trying to hurt others because of her."

He shook his head before gesturing his men to take care of the mess.

In the first place, why wouldn't the Fiamma Dukedom who loves their children be so passive when their daughter is being mistreated so openly?

He and the other generals were already able to come up with this answer since she had returned.

Saphira herself didn't want them to make a move and to just leave the people alone.

This is while she does her best in gaining their respect in different ways.

"You can let go of your badges now. Tell that to these men once they wake up. They are no longer knights of the kingdom or the Empire," he commanded.

His command will be the same as the Emperor's.

When the report came that they bullied her, they thought it was normal but with great hesitation the reporting knight spoke of the fact that demonic lizards have climbed up the walls while they were surrounding her.

It was Saphira who snapped them all out and rushed first to defeat the demonic lizards killing a third of them instantly.

With that it was already obvious that it was neglect they made.

But when the knight spoke that they dared attacked her when she didn't want to listen to them, Kyne was enraged.

Was this the quality of the knights of their proud Empire?

With neglect of duty they still dared to cause trouble and dared to attack a commander?

When he saw the family and Saphira stopping her father and grandfather from hurting the conscious knight, he saw disappointment in her eyes.

'Seriously she defeated even us, the generals and seasoned knight in watching over our troops,' he sighed.

"What happened here?"

Just like yesterday, Hunter was the first to come out.

He saw the unconscious knights being brought down the wall and even saw one of the generals.

'Here comes trouble. If he wasn't stopped back then those two would have been badly injured. If he knew of what happened now and with her not being around. I wonder what will happen?'

Kyne smiled, "Your royal highness, a bit of accident have happened but it has been resolved. If you are looking for Commander Saphira then she is at an open ground below with her family."

Hunter squinted his eyes, "Am I being too lenient? Or was I putting too much of a kind act?"

Kyne could feel the dangerous aura coming from him.

His anger was rising to its peak, if they are to keep on triggering him then surely the indifferent but kind crown prince they knew might disappear.

Hunter was known to be kind because even if he rarely smile towards the people, every plans made for the Empire that came from him, all have the people's best interest in mind.

He doesn't tolerate knights acting high and mighty towards the patrol guards.

They are those that didn't pass the ability or weapon exams for the knights.

He has both the intelligence and heart of an Emperor and so the people were not against him being the Emperor.
