CHAPTER 57: I Don't Want To Die

They also didn't simply think that it was because of his mythological beast.

Gideon was a good candidate but he was too soft.

He also gets mad but he rarely do so, the most was if it is for someone close to him or his family.

"Your highness, I apologize for our negligence," Kyne couldn't help but say.

They are the generals, throwing insults were still tolerable but to dare attack her when they are the ones in the wrong.

This is their negligence.

The knights weren't taught properly.

"She takes on the image of the bad one but in reality she is the kindest," Hunter continued pulling out his sword.

"Do you know what punishment I could give them that would lead to death?" Hunter asked.

He started walking towards where the knights were brought instead of the open ground where Saphira and her family were currently training.

"What, your highness?"

Kyne sighed, he knew of course. And because he knew, he could only sigh.

"Treachery."

The aura surrounding Hunter became even more dangerous.

Kyne did not reply.

He felt sympathy towards their family but these knights have not only raised their swords against the commander of the Order of the Seven Myths.

But also against the crown princess.

This is already a treacherous act through and through.

He didn't stop him because Hunter is currently standing in front of him as the crown prince.

And the ones on the wrong were those knights.

After getting down the basement of the walls.

"It was not our fault, her family had betrayed the people of the kingdom. We were just making her realize that."

"That's right, after everything. Still acting friendly towards the rest. That is just unforgivable."

"She was the commander must only be because she was the crown princess and the daughter of one of the seven families. They are just trying to raise her status from the betrayal that happened."

They were already awake and was even trying to make their way out of this through the people with Kyne.

But they were already briefed by Kyne.

Those people were the ones who made mistakes.

And even if they have something against Saphira, as people under him. They should know what was right and wrong no matter how close you are to people.

And so they left these people who woke up to rattle on their own.

The report was clear, she had ignored them but they persisted leading to this now.

"Ahhh I guess I really was acting too much."

All of them turned alert when they heard a sigh and his cold voice.

When Hunter stepped in, his golden brown eyes were so cold they felt shiver run down their spines.

"The rest of you get out," he said to those under Kyne.

They bowed and left but if one were to look closely, their footsteps were rushed.

"You too sir Kyne," Hunter added.

Kyne bowed before leaving without saying a word.

But he stayed right outside the door.

"You guys go and guard the walls," he commanded his troop.

"And whatever happens here, make it a lesson. There are limits to everything."

They understood instantly the outcome of this, these people are now no good.

"And that there are people whom you should never make angry," he added glancing at the door.

"Yes sir," they saluted before leaving.

And a silent command was already within them, not to speak carelessly of what will happen inside that room.

Hunter brandished his sword right in front of them.

They could feel coldness in their throat.

"Raising your swords towards the crown princess," Hunter started.

"But... your highness... we..."

They couldn't really speak because of how oppressive his aura right now.

"I don't care about reasons. I have only one bottom line, and that bottom line was also the one stopping me from taking action."

They swallowed hard and fear engulfed them.

Fear they didn't feel coming from Saphira even though she had attacked them back.

She simply defended herself but she didn't exuded an aura that will make them feel that their lives are in danger.

"Treachery."

For the second time, Hunter spoke of that word.

And upon hearing this, they knew they have just forfeited their lives.

"Y- Your highness, please... Please we will not repeat our mistakes. Please spare our lives."

"Spare?"

He laughed coldly.

"When you raised your sword against her what was on your mind?"

Of course, it was to hurt her even to kill her.

Another sigh escaped his lips, "There is no point trying to understand the inner workings of your mind. And I never wanted to understand it."

He raised his sword towards them.

The one who reported and was left conscious all along was completely terrified.

If he knew this would happen, he wouldn't have joined them.

He wouldn't have watched.

He was not in particular against her.

He was simply too weak to resist the others.

If he knew, he would have allowed them to bully him instead.

Beatings would be better than dying.

He wanted to cry, to cry out of misery for the outcome of his life.

He watched as his squad mates were being killed by the crown prince himself.

'If I knew that this time would come, I wouldn't have followed my father in becoming a knight. Treachery was a big sin, even our families will be ostracized.'

His thoughts were all about his family as tears streamed down his face.

'I don't want to die.'

'I don't want to die.'

He repeatedly thought as the death god took his time in killing them one by one.

'Please help me.'

Two more and it will be his turn.

'Please, anyone... help me...'

He begged in his mind because he could not find his voice.

He could only cry because he was a coward.

Regrets filling him up as he continued his silent prayers.

'I don't want to die.'

'Please help me.'

All these words kept repeating themselves as he watched the last one collapse on the ground.

Hunter remained having his indifferent look even though blood was splattered on his face.

It was as if what he was doing was but a trivial matter.

He could only whimper and close his eyes accepting his fate.

*CLANG*
