CHAPTER 67: Looked At Him And Smiled Helplessly

Willow didn't went home but instead stayed with Stormie, as per everyone's wish.

Plus even though her father and grandfather was there, there is still no saying what the pair of mother and daughter might do to her.

"Do you wish to wait for them to approach you again?" Saphira asked her before they went their own ways.

"I don't know how I can have them show their true selves," she answered.

"Then is it alright for you that I will move on my own?" Saphira asked.

"In bringing them out?" Willow asked.

Saphira nodded her head, "I can do something to bring out their true colors or to simply brought to light what they were trying to do."

"Wait, trying to do? Are you two talking about what I am thinking right now?" Nixon asked hearing their conversation.

Jealousy was there, kidnapping became involved and now they are talking about what the mother and daughter wanted to do.

Isn't it pointing to one thing right now?

Willow slowly nodded her head.

All the other five turned dead serious and the aura surrounding them turned cold.

A characteristic they all have.

No matter how friendly and carefree they are, once you touch one of them.

Then all of them would get mad.

Though this is something that is no longer applicable for Drake towards Saphira and a little not applicable for Willow towards Saphira.

"Calm down," Saphira commanded.

Commanded because her tone have changed to that of someone speaking to her subordinates.

They reined in their anger and remembered her condition a while ago.

This must have been the reason why she was so mad, even they can feel shivers running down their spines.

And truth be told, Drake may have ignored her but he felt it too.

That towering aura of hers that she is trying to suppress because it was not yet time to bring it out.

"No wonder," Hunter commented looking at Saphira.

"Even I am itching to get out there and snap all their bones but not yet. Unless we get solid evidence and they themselves come out, then we can't not just yet."

Because it would greatly disturb the Empire and they didn't want that.

Willow couldn't really look at Saphira right now.

They may have spoken like nothing a while ago but it was still there, the feeling of betrayal and the feeling of supporting the one you love.

"I will be making my move once she tries to approach you and act as if she was worried or anything of such sort. She will surely do it at least by tomorrow."

"Why?" Stormie asked seeing how sure she was in her words.

Saphira smiled, "Because I told her mother I will be recruiting her in the squad."

"Huh? Wha- Wait what do you mean?" Nixon was flabbergasted.

"Relax, I went to Willow's place this morning and checked Esther's things in order to know where she took Willow. Her parents arrived not long after that is why I could only give such a reason."

"They are all aware?" Willow asked feeling like something was squeezing her heart.

"No, you grandfather and father were unaware of what the mother and daughter were trying to do. That much I can decipher in their looks," she answered.

The squeezing instantly disappeared.

If her whole family wanted what her sister and step mother wants then where will she put herself?

A thought came to her, "Then the reason you let her go was because of this?"

"If we took her, then with her current image most wouldn't believe. Even if the heads were to believe us the people won't. I already told you, you guys are the heroes, that is your current image. If we are to tarnish that then who will the people believe in times of darkness?"

They went silent, they have an image to uphold. That was what she wanted them to remember.

"But then... are we just?" Ridge slowly said.

Saphira looked at him and smiled helplessly, "A duty bound by being the host. Not simply a duty to defeat darkness but a duty to have such an image as well."

They could only grit their teeth.

If the people were to stop believing them then when a time comes that they needed them to do something, the people wouldn't do anything.

Saphira was trying to ensure that time wouldn't come.

After that short meeting they went on their own ways.

"She tricked you mother, she tricked you and grandfather and father," Esther said to her mother.

Her mother was happily telling her that the commander of the Order of the Seven Myths came to recruit her.

"Because I am over achieving in my literacy about the other kingdoms and empires even grandfather believed her," Esther added shaking her head.

Of course, she understood instantly the reason why Saphira arrived so early in that place.

The Null closest to the Imperial City was the one at the eastern border.

"Luckily I have escaped before she caught sight of me but because I was the last with that wench, she suspected me instantly," she added sitting down and downing the tea her mother have brought over.

"Are you saying she tricked us into checking your things in order to save that wench? Even your grandfather?" her mother asked her.

Esther nodded her head obviously unaware that her father and grandfather simply wanted harmony in the family and them not doing anything yet was what allowed them to live longer.

"That wench, she dared trick us. No wonder she was the family of a traitor. She can lie so straightforward."

Esther gritted her teeth, she was so close.

So close in obtaining it yet that wench just have to step in.

She subconsciously touch her throat.

When Saphira appeared a while ago, her killing intent was visibly high.

If she didn't rush out of that place she would have been killed for sure.

Once again she was wrong, Saphira just allowed her to leave.

"What are we going to do then?" her mother asked.

"Don't worry I'll use my pitiful card tomorrow in front of so many people. With that when something happens to me, they will surely know that it is Willow's doing."
