CHAPTER 87: Something Like That?

'I am actually jealous with the time you spend with the one you adore.'

Lancelot sighed.

Why was he so jealous of the attention she received?

It was so childish he could only laugh at himself.

Though for a good while now, his jealousy was just truly terrifying that he knew he was really going overboard with things.

"She noticed how my jealousy was eating me up and decided to fix it despite it not being her duty," he commented as Kyne helped him up.

"Well, we have no idea just what it is that was going on in that mind of hers. She get entangled with people she rarely interact with. Without rhyme or reason she just up and do what she wants. Quite a weird one," Kyne replied.

"But..." Scott followed looking at Saphira and her friends.

"Every single time she do something bizzare like that. The people involved are smiling more."

He was looking at Lancelot who had a smile on his face.

Lancelot cleared his throat, "Enough with that nonsensical observation of yours."

The other two laughed at the exchange of these two.

Saphira went home after that battle and asked her parents to let her rest for the time being.

She was in her bathtub soaking her body while her eyes were tightly closed.

Her hands clenching on the rim of the tub while her brows were furrowed.

This went on for a good few minutes before her face relaxed.

'With that we really can leave now, I have cleaned up the Empire with most of the things that could raise some problem in the future.'

She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling, 'I really am unlucky, I wished for the one person I wanted to battle to be the first to come but in the end, he was still the last.'

She looked at her hands before sighing, "I'm going to be lazy now."

"My whole body's tired, my hands are at their limit for parrying the attacks of those four. I'm really going to be lazy now," she complained closing her eyes once again to enjoy the hot bath.

Because even with the week interval before Lancelot's battle, she haven't fully recovered from the other three.

"But I think you still can't. The birthday of the Emperor will be held tomorrow night. You do understand you have to attend right?"

She opened her eyes with a pout, "Mom, can't I skip that? I was a hardworker in the past month. Can't I have that as an excuse?"

Carmilla smiled sweetly and Saphira felt like crying.

She has no escape that is for sure.

The very next day she was woken up so early, the sun haven't even risen yet and she was made to make preparations in her clothes and look for the party that night.

'Just kill me now,' she grumbled in her mind as she was made to wear a red gown.

It was a long sleeve one and a collar covering her neck.

It has ruffles that makes it even more balloon like than it already was.

Though the upper part fits her body perfectly, the bottom was in balloon style.

And her hair was curled and tied up in a ponytail leaving only the sides that are shorter.

SHe was given a light make up and was made to wear some accessories, much smaller than what usual nobles would wear.

Well, if they made her wear bigger ones, she would surely destroy all those accessories.

And when they did enter the ball room, most eyes were on her.

Her beauty just currently surpassed all the negative thoughts they have for her.

Plus with everything that she had been doing on their stay here, most have already forgotten that their hate for her was because of her sister.

Instead they were constantly reminded of her strength and prowess.

The awe almost overpassing the hate and mock in their hearts.

To most her current look is a cool beauty with how serious her face is.

But...

"I can clearly tell what she is thinking right now," Nixon spoke to Ridge beside him.

"I can as well," Ridge chuckled.

"I want to sleep. Just let me sleep. Can I leave this forsaken place? Why am I here? Who am I? Something like that?" Stormie followed and the three of them couldn't help but laugh.

True to what they think, these are the words that is playing around in Saphira's mind.

She barely ate for the day.

She ended falling asleep really late last night.

Had to prepare and stay in front of the mirror for so long.

Her hair was pulled up too tight she felt like messing it right now.

Even the dress felt so tight that she just want to get change right this instant.

She had on a serious look, more like a dead look because of how tired she really felt at the moment.

But as a part of the nobles, she really couldn't ignore all of this stuffs.

Especially because of her position.

She even need to greet some who approached her as the crown princess.

Needing to smile and play word games with them.

She really just want to play dead.

After making sure no one will notice, she had decided to escape to the garden.

"Is that Saphira?" Kyne asked looking at the other three generals who are also with him.

"I think so, I want to ask her a few things. Let's go and greet her," Hedley perked up.

He was so eager to exchange pointers with her after witnessing her might.

"Don't."

Scott stopped him.

"Why?" he asked.

"Didn't you see her look when she was about to get out?" Lancelot replied.

"What about her look?" Kyne asked this time.

"If anyone comes any closer to me I will surely beat them to a pulp. Was what her face was saying," Lancelot explained.

The other two gulped.

Well, they are strong but they have no desire in infuriating an already infuriated lady.

"Then, shall we keep drinking here then?" Hedley laughed it off before walking on another side.

Meanwhile, Saphira was finally able to take a breather after stepping out.

She sat on a bench and sighed.

"I wish I could just escape this kind of things," she muttered.

"Hey."
