CHAPTER 88: I... Didn't Do Anything

Looking up, she saw Drake in his black tux with white shirt and silver tie.

"Oh, aren't you handsome?" she blurted out before she could stop herself.

And because of that, Drake's eyes turned sharp and his aura exuded the irritation she usually sees.

Saphira raised both her hands and grinned.

'Why did you look for me in the first place? I really am tired you know please spare me that look,' she thought.

"Thanks."

As she was in deep thought, she suddenly heard him spoke a word.

"For Willow."

After that he left.

"Eh?"

Saphira tried slapping her cheek and she knew she was awake.

"Is he thanking me for helping out Willow?" she muttered completely confused.

She held her head for she really was having a bad headache as of the moment.

Then she chuckled, 'Ah, I guess everything was not for a naught.'

The headache that was killing her finally caused her to lose consciousness.

"You must really be tired and was simply pushed to do these things."

Before she were to fall, Hunter was already beside her catching her.

He sat down on the bench before letting her lie down on his lap.

He had a serious look on, he knew they talked to her on the same day he saw her sleeping at the watch tower of the wall closest to the forest they were training.

And when he got back to the castle, his father had a serious look on.

His father told him that they will be giving Saphira a gift but didn't say what it was. Yet seeing the look his father had that night, he can tell that not everything went the way they wanted.

Especially the tired look Saphira had on that day.

With that he strengthened his resolve to finish his training on the little time he had left.

He only heard the news of her challenging the generals and stuff from the others that he could only ask them to look after her.

He needed to focus on his training, he barely left the castle up to this time.

When he saw her a while ago, despite the irritation she had. She still chose to do her duty properly before escaping when things finally died down.

He was also there when Drake thanked her and after a long while, genuine happiness was visible in her face.

Maybe because of such that she ended up finally collapsing from tiredness and relief.

"She collapsed?"

Reginald came out to have a breather as well when he saw his son by the bench.

And then seeing that Saphira was asleep in his lap.

Hunter glared at him.

"I... didn't do anything," Reginald couldn't help but say.

"Say father, you said I was getting stronger. Before we leave do you think we can have one final battle?" Hunter smiled at him.

Reginald swallowed hard, he just came out for some fresh air why does it feels like he just stepped on a land mine?

"You see, son, you are far stronger than your father now. I acknowledge that already, so we really don't need to spar anymore right?" he stepped back.

Hunter continued smiling without answering to him.

Reginald laughed with uncertainty before rushing back inside ready to complain to Felissa.

Hunter returned his look at Saphira and noticed that she had her brows furrowed.

He carefully removed the pins on her hair allowing it to simply fall off.

He knew how she hated dressing up and dolling up like this.

That is why he knew that her current discomfort is because of her hair and dress.

He can help her with her hair but he can't do anything about her dress.

"You've worked really hard," he complimented despite knowing that she couldn't hear him.

Yet it seems that Saphira was getting comfortable, she turned on her sleep, lying on her side instead of her back.

But soon after she couldn't help but to sneeze.

"Come on, it is best for you to rest in bed," he spoke again before carrying her.

He asked for some maids, who are capable enough to help her get change without waking her up.

"I presume she is already resting?" Archie approached him when he returned to the party that is almost over.

"Yes, sir. It seems she really was very tired," he answered respectfully.

Archie nodded his head, "I guess she can only stay here for the night. I hope his majesty wouldn't mind. Saphira may end up waking up when we are to help her back to our place."

"I don't mind, not at all. Let her have some long proper rest," Reginald who was also there waved his hand.

But once again gulped when Hunter gave him a look.

"I suppose it is time for us to leave already as well. Please take care of her," Asherton said afterwards.

They bid them goodbye and soon the party came to a close.

Hunter didn't wait for the next day and asked for his father for a spar despite Reginald's complaints.

And just as he had feared, his son who completed his training and was now stronger didn't hold back at all.

Reginald was defeated by his son's heavy blows.

"It's not like I tasked her to do all those things," he complained.

Hunter smiled, "But you are the Emperor father. This Empire worked her to her core, and you are the one leading this Empire."

Reginald wanted to cry.

Just what kind of logic did his son have to punish him?

But nevertheless, he really was proud of him.

Hunter truly improved by leaps and bounds after he really started focusing on his training to become stronger.

At the same time, Gideon who received his duties was very much diligent to properly take care of everything.

What more can a father ask for?

"Say father, how long are you going to sit there? We still have a long time before dawn breaks," Hunter commented.

Reginald looked at him with horror, "This is not my fault!!!!"
