CHAPTER 99: Not As United, Hmmm...

They can also see that the vice commander was supporting her perfectly.

It was a fight they couldn't see in the past.

The demonic beasts were wiped out with the seven of them doing so little in the battle.

After returning her sword to its sheath, Saphira sighed at her hands.

"What exactly have happened?" Hunter asked.

"A demonic beast a bit bigger than the snake we fought was resting under the water not far from here. We ended up waking it to the point that it had attacked," she replied.

She didn't put the blame on the knights alone, instead she took some of it even though she really didn't do anything.

They can see just how responsible she is in taking up the leading position.

If your group did something that caused damage then you as the leader will have to accept the same amount of fault as them.

"Once we return, they will explain things in detail to sir Juno and sir Leon. You go and listen then," she then added as she was too lazy to explain everything.

Hunter nodded his head in agreement before looking at her hands with a frown.

"Don't worry, I will have Nixon take care of this."

She raised both of her hands.

With that, they all returned to camp and Hunter and the rest went to Juno and Leon's tent.

"Saphira, isn't this created by an electric shock?" Nixon asked seeing the state of her hands.

Both had its skin ruptured here and there.

"Yeah, the electric attack of the beast past through my sword that it caused damage in my hands," she replied watching him do the healing.

"This must have hurt a lot," Nixon shuddered at the thought of pain.

"Yeah, it must have," she replied.

"What's wrong?" Ridge asked Nixon whow as silent after dinner.

"Hmmm?" Nixon snapped out of his thought.

"I said what is wrong, you seemed too silent," Ridge asked again.

"Oh, well, there's just a thought," he replied.

"What thought?"

"It feels like Saphira couldn't really feel pain," Nixon said in a low voice.

It was a speculation on his side, he had been having it since Alquira Empire.

Today Saphira's words confused him even more.

"Why do you say that?" Ridge asked.

"I don't know, I had been healing her for a while now but every single time, you can't even see any sign of pain or discomfort on her. Even when battling back in the Empire, with the four generals. She attacked and even with the damage she received she showed nothing."

As a healer, these are things you will notice when you have healed so many people.

Discomfort were there and they will show signs of relief once it was healed but Saphira never showed such things.

"If that is true, it is not like it will hinder in anything right? If she has such a thing but chose not to speak of it, isn't it alright? You have your own trauma as well remember?" Ridge answered.

Saphira knew her own limitation and they could see that she wasn't carelessly doing things that would cause damage on her self.

"I am not looking down at your trauma," Ridge added.

"I never felt that you are doing that. Plus my trauma won't hinder me on my daily life as well," Nixon replied with a laugh.

"Anyway, since you are the healer, just keep an eye on her then surely she won't receive damage that might cause her her life," Ridge finally said.

*****

"To think that such a beast had been by our side," Juno shuddered.

He together with Leo is having a meeting with Saphira and Hunter.

"We are thankful to you for finding out about it," he then said towards Saphira.

"No, I was just checking the surrounding and found it with the rest," she replied.

"Nevertheless you have saved their lives by being there," Leon added.

Saphira just smiled in return, she wasn't someone who loves this kind of attention.

"Your team is making some poison for demonic beasts right?" Juno asked seeing as she really wasn't comfortable with compliment.

"Indeed," she replied.

"Then I suppose we wait for it to be finished while trying to ensure that we keep lessening the numbers of the demonic beasts," Juno nodded his head.

"That's right, your other member have arrived in one of our fortress and had started doing her job," Leon remembered and told them.

"If she didn't then I would have punished her," she replied seriously.

Juno and Leon could feel just how seriouos Saphira was in what she was saying.

"For our demeanor when we arrived and the time where my subordinates acted on their own, I apologize, sir. We may be the special order from Qillian Empire. But we shouldn't have acted in such disgraceful way. We are still proud knights after all. Knights who are in a mission," Saphira sat straight and apologized sincerely.

They had shown such disgrace on the first day of their arrival.

Juno shook his head, Leon was the same.

"We can somehow see that your group weren't as united as we thought it was. There are such times in a group, we understand very well," Juno said.

'Not as united, hmm,' Saphira thought with a bitter smile.

If this was in the past, then their group has the best unity among all the groups in the Empire, old or new.

But now they ended up in this state and all she could do was apologize and be ashamed that they couldn't be even more focused.

"But we do hope, none of you and none of us will be placed in danger because of this," Leon added.

"We understand, sir. We will be even more professional once a fight starts," Saphira replied.

After that they left the tent and went to Ridge.

"I'm almost done. An hour or so and the poison is finished," Ridge told them after they inquired.

"Then we will test it once you are done."

Saphira looked at Hunter, "You inform the rest."
