Vermilion Bird stood by Saphira's side before sighing.
"Six months is too long," he said turning to the rest.
All of the mythological beasts shrunk to the size of a cat, sitting a top the table that Willow created.
While the hosts sat on the chairs created by her as well.
Saphira had asked her to get use to this kind of creation, since surely most of the time they will stay in the wild, it is still better to have a place to rest properly.
"Well, since both of us have already decided it anyway. We shall do it right here and now," he added.
"What do you mean?" Qirin asked.
"Black Tortoise and Roc, can your brats create an ice glacier?" Vermilion asked first.
"With proper guidance yes," Black Tortoise replied.
"Then you will place her inside that ice glacier once I give you the signal," Vermilion Bird instructed.
"Wait, there are so many confusing things right now. Can you explain it for a bit?" Azure Dragon spoke up.
"Where do you want me to start?" Vermilion asked.
Saphira's life isn't in danger so there is nothing to worry about.
"You, start explaining about you," Azure Dragon replied.
Vermilion Bird glanced at Qirin before looking at the rest.
Hunter noticed this glance but chose to keep quiet for now.
"I am alive indeed, I am here in front of you and I came out from her," Vermilion Bird started.
"Saphira killed Raynisha," Ridge spoke up.
Vermilion Bird looked at Hunter and sighed.
"Yes, she killed Raynisha and drank her blood."
Another ringing sound on their ears.
It was already too much listening to Hunter saying that Saphira killed Raynisha.
But to also hear that she did the ceremony after killing her sister, this is too much of a blow for them.
The person they all felt to be at fault in the beginning.
The person who accepted all the insults and hatred.
Was actually the person who was suffering the most.
"And the reason I am standing here in front of you even though it just has been eight years was because of Saphira as well."
Once the ceremony was done, the mythological beast will need at least 15 years to fully recover.
Yet here he is, Vermilion Bird, obviously his strength was there.
"She..."
(Flashback)
"Aren't you weak now?" Saphira said in the darkness within the consciousness.
She walked and approached the giant red bird.
"Shut up," the bird responded with a glare before closing his eyes again.
His whole body was in so much pain.
His blood was boiling as if ready to burn him as of the moment.
Saphira shook her head and walked closer before placing her hand on his wings.
"What are you doing?"
Vermilion Bird wanted to stand up when he felt her touch him.
But he was too weak to do so.
He hated them.
He hated humans.
They do as they please without thinking about them.
They aren't just beasts, they have emotions.
They have their own thoughts and most of all they feel pain.
Yet these humans just kept going on and on about the ceremony on passing him around like an object.
If it were him, he would have chosen not to be an inborn beast.
Maybe he should just be the shield the next time?
At least by then he would die without having to be born inside a human again.
Even if his pride does not allow him to be reincarnated into a weakling.
He was already too tired of these humans who are very much selfish.
Only thinking of themselves, he hates them to the core.
"Shhh," Saphira replied.
"I told you, you are weak," she added.
He wanted to rebuke that this is all their fault.
These hateful humans are the reason for his suffering but he couldn't do so in the end.
For this human, who became his new host was actually doing something outrageous.
No other human would do this.
"Do you understand what you are doing?" he asked.
"I won't be doing it if I don't," she answered.
He remained vigilant, he has no desire to trust this human.
She must just be doing it for a small amount.
He won't be moved by it, what he lost was far more than what she will give.
That is for sure.
But as time passed by, he could feel that her aura was slowly dissipating and the mana that was flowing inside him became even more abundant.
"You-"
"I am giving you everything," she interrupted him.
"Tsk," she clicked her tongue before looking at him.
"Did she tell you anything about this transfer?"
Vermilion Bird was stunned by her question.
"Why would she ask me about this kind of thing?"
Saphira raised an eyebrow at him, "What do you mean this kind of thing? This is a life or death situation and you are involved in it. Of course you have to talk about this."
Transfering a mythological beast does not only kill the current host but at the same time, it causes a lot of damage and injury to the beast himself.
They could recover but it takes a lot of time.
Their next host may be able to live to a hundred or so, a privilege that those with inborn and accompanying beast would have.
Stronger body with longer life span.
Give the beast ten years and his wounds would be healed.
Another five and his power would be back to its peak state.
People would think of it as a small amount to pay as long as they got the mythological beast.
Since when you become the host, the mythological beast will only become an inborn beast to your direct descendants.
Aat the same time, humans would think of giving their own mana as a waste of their own strength.
Since the beast is already inside you, you can give it mana to help it recover better but most people thinks of them as things to become stronger.
So no one would really do such a thing.
A case that never happened to Vermilion Bird.
Time and time again, he has to be the one to recover himself.
"We are tools, you humans can do whatever you want."
