CHAPTER 129: Hitting Two Birds With One Stone

When Saphira used her power, she felt something else coming out that she had no choice but to make it excessive instead.

This is in order to cover it up.

If they saw that, she would be asked questions where she has no answers yet.

"It's close," Vermilion Bird spoke.

The thing that appeared during the events of eight years ago was an egg within Saphira.

An egg with golden linings.

Something they already have an idea what power it holds but doesn't know just what exactly it was.

And currently, it now has some cracks on it.

"The heat of my fire, it was different. Too hot for the darkness I mean."

"We will have our answer once this one hatches," Vermilion Bird replied to her.

"For now what you need to do is to control your own power. Make sure that it doesn't leak. The one this one gives," Vermilion Bird told her.

"I know."

Just as she was about to step out, she remembered something.

"I heard it was you who suggested most of their training," she spoked.

Vermilion Bird harrumphed but didn't answer.

"Hoho, our lazy mythological beast actually did some work. Now this is a shock, don't you think so?" Saphira teased him.

"Shut up, brat."

Saphira laughed and finally stepped out.

She will have to train her control so what she said to the rest about training wasn't off the mark.

It is to be shown here that Saphira was the only one who wasn't afraid of Vermilion Bird's tongue.

Instead she even answers back with her own retort making their relationship different from the rest.

'I never thought it would be Azure Dragon's brat who would be able to understand the way to face darkness the best,' Vermilion Bird spoke from inside her.

'Hmmm she was so gentle that even I was shock. I guess the changes in everyone caused so much to their mind set,' she replied as she attacked another demonic beast.

'Says the one who took less than three months to accumulate the mana returned to her. Normally it would be three to four months,' Vermilion Bird answered.

'I am amazing aren't I? But well I am shock to see that you returned it to me at such a time,' she replied.

Vermilion Bird rolled his eyes at her narcissism.

'If I didn't you will recover in about six months. And then if I return it to you after that then you will have another months of recovering. That would take too long. I am just hitting two birds with one stone.'

Saphira agreed to his thinking, it is better to take the shortest time possible especially since Raynisha have already appeared.

Meaning their battle is seriously starting now.

"Grandfather?"

Saphira was busy killing demonic beasts when she felt someone approaching, upon getting close, she knew it was Asherton.

"I have heard of your encounter with her," he spoke.

Saphira smiled and walked over to hold his aged hand.

"Grandfather, there is only one thing all of us should think of right now. Raynisha is dead. No matter how many of them were to appear in front of us that looked exactly like Raynisha. They are not her."

He looked at her.

"It is true that is the body of Raynisha, though," she informed him.

She was planning on informing everyone about this fact.

"So their body was being used by darkness?" Asherton asked her bitterly.

"I myself didn't want to believe my speculation at first but when I found no traces of them when I came here, I was already prepared. But the others weren't so it lead the events that followed."

She turned around as she said this and faced the incoming demonic beasts.

"But even if that is their body, they are our enemies right now. That fact will not change."

Her eyes were brimming with coldness and ruthlessness.

Asherton didn't see it because she had her back on him.

If he were to see it, he would surely shudder.

Because this side was never seen by anyone.

A side that came about after she had seen Raynisha as the dark one.

The anger erupted at the thought of how things came about.

She was now angry to the core.

At how the darkness do as it pleases, she will never forgive it no matter what.

That night she had spoken of the same things to the rest.

All of them felt even more bad knowing that those are their bodies.

The bodies of those they respected.

"But no matter what, they are our enemies right now. I may no longer be your commander but I will tell you one thing."

She seriously looked at each one of them.

"Don't hold back on your attacks on their bodies. With the thought that you might hurt them. You must not have the naive idea of them still having a chance to come back. Because they are dead. That is what you need to keep in your minds. They died 8 years ago, in front of all of you."

"Yes, we understand."

There was no more thoughts of going against her.

What she had been telling them were nothing but the right things.

Even if they have those faces, they are no longer the people they knew.

"Very well, since you understand. I won't say anything more," she said with a smile.

"Saphira," Ridge called.

"Hmmm?"

"You are the only one suited to be the one leading us," he then said.

The others simply looked at her with agreement in their eyes.

She was not stunned that even the look Drake was giving were no longer the same as before.

With Vermilion Bird's appearance, she knew they already learned a part of the truth from eight years ago.

Of her sacrifice and her pain.

"I... guess I can pick it up for now," she answered.

"No, you take full responsibility, as you have seen we were a mess," Hunter spoke up.

She pouted when he finally gave it to her officially.
