CHAPTER 134: It Was Your Responsibility

"Where do we go first?" Nixon asked as they stepped out of the audience hall.

"I want to see their plants," Ridge replied.

"I want to see their clothes shop," Stormie followed.

Willow agreed to her.

Saphira just shook her head and chuckled.

They were cooped up in that island for three months. Then before that, they were at Cetus Kingdom where there was nothing.

It has been more than half a year since they really saw this kind of peaceful life.

The last time should have been when they were just reuniting with one another.

For in their Empire, they were seen as people who should focus on their mission, they really couldn't enjoy.

"I guess we can take a breather for now," Saphira spoke to Hunter who was beside her.

He nodded his head.

They don't need to be in so much guard because of what was going on since this Kingdom was truly capable enough.

Drake, who was following them, was looking at Saphira's sword that was hanging by her waist.

He was about to open his mouth when the seven of them heard a scoff behind them.

Looking back it was none other than the crown prince Felix.

"I am amazed you can still play around just like that."

"Please calm your self, your highness. We just want to see your kingdom," Nixon replied but he was starting to feel irritated towards this person.

"Sight seeing? Go on, I won't stop you. You will just step in once the war is almost over anyway," he replied with another scoff.

He walked and was planning on passing by them when Stormie placed her hand on his shoulder.

Even though he was a few inches taller than her, she didn't care.

The rest knew how uneasy she had been so they were planning on letting her enjoy and forget for a bit but this prince just have to speak such words.

Nixon wanted to stop her since this is still a different kingdom but Willow stopped him.

Sometimes, they also need to let some steam off.

At the same time, this prince is already going overboard.

"You speak as if you've done so much," Stormie started.

Felix frowned, "Let go of me."

But instead of letting go, Stormie grabbed his shoulder tighter.

"Tell me, as you play around with your toy sword at the age of six, do you know what we were doing?"

She was trembling in anger.

She was currently not in complete control of her emotions and that is why she so easily snapped when Felix didn't let them go even after they ignored him and assured him that they weren't those who only wants the popularity.

"Why would I care?" he grumbled slapping her hand away.

"Why would you care?" Stormie laughed.

"Then why do you care what we do now?"

He clenched his jaws as he was receiving her anger.

"As you play with your toy sword, living your life like a normal kid, we are already holding our swords ready to kill the demonic beasts."

She scoffed, "As you started your training with a real sword, we are already out in the world killing as many demonic beasts as we can."

No one stopped Stormie, they allowed her to vent out.

"As you started becoming acquainted with your sword, we have witnessed our allies dying under the darkness. We have witnessed blood being sprayed all over the ground."

Felix couldn't retort at all.

"As you started fighting for your kingdom, we were already roaming around the world fighting for every Empire and every Kingdom that needed our help."

She shook her head as tears threatened to fall, "As you think of how great you are because you are able to protect your kingdom. We are in pain because we could only move forward when more and more of those who are close to us die in another place outside of our Empire."

Her hands were clenched into fists and they were trembling.

"Your sacrifices are all for your kingdom while our sacrifices are for the world other than our Empire. Other than our home, so what right do you have to look down on us?"

"It was your responsibility. The treaty," Felix retorted finding his voice.

"Yes, the treaty. We have our responsibility. But do you think this world will be in peace if we didn't combine our kingdoms? They will fight over and over again for the mythological beasts. If our ancestors didn't do that hundreds of years ago. Do you think it would be this peaceful? Yet all of your ancestors, used it to make us fight for darkness without any freedom to agree or to disagree."

She started crying, something she had wanted to do after knowing that the bodies of their beloved were being used by darkness as if to put salt on their wounds.

"As you grieve for the bodies of those who died within your kingdom. We grieved for the bodies that couldn't even return to our Empire. You have no right to judge and act high and mighty when you are within the comfort of your kingdom all along."

Felix was left speechless as she turned to leave followed by the rest.

"There are misconception about the Qillian Empire."

He turned when he heard his father's voice.

"Everyone thinks it is their duty to protect the whole world because of the treaty. But the truth is, if they were to close their Empire from the world and only protect themselves. Even if the whole other kingdoms and empires were to wage war. Qillian Empire will still win."

He sighed because he didn't expect for his son to actually have this idea as well when he had been telling him that they should be grateful towards Qillian Empire.

"They are strong, not only because they have the mythological beasts but also because their leader was a great one. But they chose to accept the treaty because they still worry about the rest of the world. They ARE helping us and not the other way around."

"Father," Felix called.

As Stormie's words sank inside him and his mind registered everything that she had said, he didn't know how to react.

"You have seen Vermilion Bird."
