CHAPTER 144: I Am Always On Time

"It still hurts after all."

Felix looked at Stormie, he also felt that the wind supporting him have wavered a little.

They were on their usual extermination day, a week after their reconciliation dinner.

And now, the man who appeared before them that caused the tide of war to change once again appeared before them.

Felix looked at her then at Nixon.

Then he glanced down to the others and he could see that they were in shock despite preparing themselves about it.

The only one who remained unchanging was Saphira.

Even Hunter had a change in his look, he was also affected.

Samuel stared at all of them before smirking.

Without a word, he had the aerial beasts attack.

Saphira looked back, seeing as they are a bit far from the imperial city, she heaved a sigh of relief.

This is better, even though they are to go on a rampage, they won't be causing harm to the people of the kingdom.

"Stormie!!"

She shouted from down below.

Stormie glanced down at her.

Saphira just nodded her head while Stormie smiled.

She needs to get a grip of herself.

No matter what happens, there are lives in her hands.

Not just the two people flying with her but even the people of the kingdom.

There is no time on being sentimental towards a dead body.

Felix and Nixon were doing great at dealing with the flying beasts but there were still quite a lot of them and even with Stormie it was being proved to be a bit difficult.

Samuel smirked seeing the three of them being preoccupied.

Just like Raynisha, his hair had turned black while his eyes had turned violet.

The aura surrounding him has changed so much that if one were not to see his face, they wouldn't know it was him.

"Watch over down here," Saphira spoke to Hunter.

He nodded his head for the beasts may be a lot but they were simply attacking without a pattern or anything.

It is easier to kill them than those that are up in the air.

'Vermilion Bird,' Saphira called for him.

He was with Azure Dragon, Roc, Qirin and the Phoenix battling more of the hundred or so flying demonic beasts.

Their power have strengthened that if in the past the mythological beasts could kill five of them at a time, this time they could only deal with two.

It is proven here that the darkness have seriously started becoming more and more powerful.

Nixon almost lost his balance but Saphira was able to stabilize him.

"Calm yourself, focus on the beasts. I'll deal with him."

She needed to do this for all of them is still shaken upon seeing Samuel up close.

It was not something one could really prepare for with your mind alone.

Stormie looked at Saphira with worry, not just her but the rest as well.

"I fought with Raynisha for about a quarter of an hour before you guys arrived back then. And I can tell she is still much stronger than him. I will be fine," she assured them.

"Saphira!!"

She looked down when Drake suddenly called her.

"Ten minutes, if you can hold on with that sword of yours within ten minutes. You real sword will be finished."

She raised an eyebrow before chuckling.

"Fine, I guess I need to play around a bit."

With that she faced Samuel who was now close to her.

*CLANG*

Their swords instantly parried.

The sound of metal clashing with the other and dragging the blades together.

The strength sent air waves in their surrounding.

Samuel smirked and kicked some dark wind towards them.

Saphira, who was standing atop Vermilion Bird didn't waver, she continued her attacks.

Vermilion Bird shook his head.

The reason for her attacking without a care for the wind attack was because she trusted Vermilion Bird in controlling that attack.

It was a complete trust for her life, that he would stop the attack from getting to her.

Saphira jumped up and used her fire to fly towards Samuel, who frowned upon seeing that she didn't care about his other attacks.

He whistled towards the other flying demonic beasts to attack Vermilion Bird when Saphira jumped, but these beasts were stopped by Qirin and the rest.

Felix was in awe as he watches this unfold in front of him.

He was a bit distracted but was still able to keep up with the demonic beasts in front of him.

Samuel was obviously starting to get irritated at the way they all connect their attacks and defense.

His attacks became more intense giving Saphira more difficulty in her attacks.

At the same time, her sword was closing its limit.

"Hunter!!" she called.

Without asking, Hunter pushed himself up in the air and parried another attack from Samuel.

Saphira was rushed down by Vermilion Bird.

The moment Drake turned, she was already close to him.

"Right on time," she said with a smile.

"Told you I am always on time," he replied tossing her the sword.

Saphira grinned before rushing back up with Vermilion Bird.

She whistled upon getting close.

Hunter was actually floating on air.

He used the gravity of the earth in reverse allowing him to float in the air.

'I didn't know he was already capable of such,' she thought.

She smiled, it seems her rushing was unnecessary.

He can handle things just fine.

He was doing better than her against Samuel.

She had to rely on Vermilion Bird for flight while he can handle himself on his own.

"I'll let you handle him," she called out to Hunter.

Hunter nodded his head.

Though he wasn't an expert in floating yet, he can still fight just fine.

And it seems that Saphira has something else she has to do or she won't simply pass on a work she took in herself.

Upon getting down, Stormie and the rest came down as well.

"I'm sorry, it is really unstable at this moment," Stormie apologized to her.
