CHAPTER 145: My First Time Seeing This

Saphira shook her head, "Continue your battle down here. Support the mythological beasts with your wind and fire. Nixon ensure that everyone will return alive today."

The three of them nodded their heads and went on to support the rest.

Saphira looked up and saw that hunter was handling himself just fine.

'I expect no less from you. I can tell from our bout that time that given time, you would already far stronger than me.'

She was actually having pride over her strength with the sword.

But she had trained that for 8 years.

Even if one were to tell that it was because she was a woman, she would still retort that he trained for just about a month or so.

Which means, his talent was far higher than hers.

But since they have different abilities, she couldn't compare that at all.

She sighed, "Sometimes I really can't compare to you."

'Vermilion Bird.'

She was planning on incorporating his spirituality in the sword because Drake had told her before that he couldn't, that part was lost.

The two of them separated themselves from the rest and entered the forest for cover.

"You know how to do it right?" she asked him.

"Yeah, we were all there when that one did it."

Then right before her eyes, Vermilion Bird changed to his child looking self.

A red haired red eyes little kid about six years old.

"You're so cute," she complimented.

"This is no time for that," he rolled his eyes.

Saphira still moved her hand and pinched his chubby cheek.

*SLAP*

Vermilion Bird glared at her and she could only raise her hands and pout.

"This is my first time seeing this, you're stingy."

Vermilion Bird suddenly thought of something and frowned.

"What is it?" she asked.

"We can talk about that later. For now, get the sword out."

She nodded her head and pulled it out.

The blade was sharp the material was obviously very sturdy, with just a glance she could tell that it had surpassed even the previous national treasures.

"Such handiwork. He really put everything in it," she complimented.

"There's no time for that. Extend your hand to one of the blades. And use your mana as you slid it down the blade. I'll do the same on the other side."

Saphira's mana was already incorporated with Vermilion's mana since she received him.

"Now I understand why only the hosts could pull it out," she commented as she did what she was told.

"Ah wait."

Before they begun, she stopped him.

"What?!?" he asked impatiently.

"Do you think I can incorpoprate 'that' as well? I can pull out some of its mana."

Vermilion Bird though for a bit.

"I think that is possible. Since we are facing stronger and higher in number of darkness, that is a good thought."

She grinned and they begun.

"You will feel some kind of resistance as we do this, since 'that' is of a different mana but you can manage it," he said as they started.

Saphira nodded her head and concentrated at what they were doing.

Even though explosions could be heard not far from them, they didn't bother.

As Saphira concentrated on slowly sliding her hand down the blade, she can feel that her mana feels like it is being sucked out so fast from her body.

After who knows how long, they finally reached the end and the sword glowed before returning to its normal looking state.

The blood that should have died it disappeared as well, as if it was sucked in by the sword as well.

When Saphira tried to swing it, she could tell that it was different from her family sword.

It is much stronger and the additional mana was also giving it a different power.

She looked at her hand before shaking it, she can just ask Nixon to help heal it.

When she looked at Vermilion Bird, he had already returned to his bird form.

"That's unfair, I want to look at you more."

"Shut up, we should return."

With a pout she jumped on his back and both of them returned to the battlefield.

It was no longer as chaotic as before, their side has already taken the upper hand in the battle.

When she looked up, she saw that Hunter was now floating at a lower altitude.

She moved and positioned herself waiting for an opening.

When it appeared, "Hunter!!"

The moment she called she also swung her sword.

The fire blade went up at a high speed.

Hunter moved when he called her shout, knowing full well that she will be attacking.

Samuel was caught off guard by the blade that it hit him on the shoulder, wounding him in the process.

He was expecting for it to simply be wounded and was ready to attack again when he felt something else.

"Argh!!"

He curled as his whole body was feeling painful from that attack.

He had a look of shock.

"Ugh... Aaaaahhh!!!"

Everyone was shocked when he suddenly shouted and from his wound came out a black mist, as it did it compressed above him and a scene was suddenly shown in front of them.

"Hah! That kid is seriously a pest. Imagine her clinging on my hand all day long?"

All seven was shock when a scene of Samuel and Chester were shown in front of them.

A scene of the past, while they were still in the kingdom.

"If she wasn't the host, I would never let her hold me. How many times had she held my hand with her greasy hands? Even after eating she instantly holds my hand. I have to pull her to wahs just so she will wash."

His face was that same old one they remember but it was twisted into something not once did Stormie have ever seen.

Felix looked at her and saw tear dropped from her eyes.

He then just found himself walking over and placing his hand over her eyes.
