CHAPTER 149: Painful Enough On Its Own

But she was well aware of the passage of time.

"What's wrong?" Willow was the one who asked this time.

She smiled at them, "Nothing is wrong. I just felt like keeping my mind blank for a bit. But I don't feel like sleeping so I just stayed here."

"Let's eat?" Ridge invited her.

"You all haven't eaten yet?" she asked upon hearing his invitation.

"We felt like eating together, though we did only group up about an hour ago. All of us missed dinner time," Nixon laughed placing both hands behind his head.

Saphira laughed, "Let's go then... and I see that prince Felix is with you as well."

Felix scratched his cheek because she actually didn't notice his existence until the last minute.

"Now I feel bad that we have to make the prince wait," she teased.

"Please, I do want to spend time with all of you, that's why I waited as well," he answered with a laugh.

"I'm just joking, shall we go? I bet your servants are already itching to go to sleep. If we don't eat yet then they will have to wait longer," she joked.

She walked ahead while the rest followed her.

The dinner was a silent one, it was still overwhelming to know of the truth and somehow the reason they chose to be with someone that night was because they didn't want to be alone.

Being alone will make them remember all the memories they shared with the elite knights when all along the other three didn't like them at all.

And somehow, the ending was this, all seven of them together with Felix, joined together.

All seven of them have different rooms but for the night they chose to stay with one another.

Felix understood the reason behind this that he had the servants prepare a different room where the seven of them could rest together.

As someone who is still not part of the group, he bid them goodnight and returned to his own room.

They ended up staying awake all the way to the morning but not one opened their mouth to speak.

They were only able to sleep around the the break of dawn.

"Have none of them woken up yet?" Jacob asked Felix.

"The battle yesterday was really different, I didn't wish to wake them up until they do so. I have tasked the servants to stay away from their room for now," he answered.

Jacob nodded his head.

He already heard the report of what had happened and somehow he felt sad for them.

Knowing that those you trusted, those you cried over after their deaths, were actually not the real person they were.

That they were deceiving you all along.

That was painful enough on its own.

Felix was more worried about Stormie, he had heard that Samuel was her first love.

She didn't even know that he was looking at her with disgust.

To suddenly find out about that.

She was obviously shaken but she was acting tough.

On the other hand, Saphira had already woken up after two hours of sleep.

She was the only one who was awake and was simply watching over the rest, she was not in the mood to go out and eat.

'Do you think he will return here?' she asked Vermilion Bird.

'We can wait and see, if he doesn't return in a month, then surely they don't have plans in attacking this kingdom again.'

'But why did he appear in this kingdom in particular?' she asked again.

'I also have no idea, if this is simply a distraction or it was just on a whim that he chose this kingdom.'

She thought back hard on who Samuel was.

He was a great wind ability user that at the age of ten, he was already capable of flying.

It wasn't uncommon for wind ability users to fly.

But most of them would be able to do so during their mid twenties.

Samuel was already capable of it at the age of ten.

While Stormie was not taught about it in the place she was sent.

They were still young to be taught by it and they didn't stay long enough because they had to regroup already.

At the same time, just as Vermilion Bird said, the other mythological beasts had actually treated them as children not teaching them things they deemed dangerous.

After some thought she stood up and went over to Hunter.

"Hunter, wake up, I need to borrow the orb and speak to the emperor."

She shook him awake.

Hunter sat down but didn't open his eyes, he instead took his ring and took out the orb before giving it to her.

Then he lied down and returned to sleep.

In this world, a storage ring was there.

But it was so uncommon and the capacity was simply about 1 meter cube in size.

It was still under research if one could expand it.

At the same time the material for it was not common either.

It could only be found at the deepest depths of the ocean.

It was first found out when one water ability user found it while in training.

Pushing his mana to investigate, he found that it was actually a space where non living things could be placed in.

It was filled with rocks and stones at the beginning that one needed their mana to make it into a possible storage place.

It was taxing and time consuming.

That is why storage rings were uncommon.

And even in their group the ones who are holding one was Saphira and Hunter alone.

But since it was still 1 meter, the size was still enough for all of their things.

She went out to the balcony of the room and placed the orb on the table before sitting down in front of it.

"Hmmm, what is it?" Reginald asked.

He had already received the report from Hunter the night before.

He knew that they were greatly affected by so many things.

"I want to know about Samuel's family."
