CHAPTER 172: Not The Reality

Since the mythological beasts could connect to one another as long as they willed it.

Meaning when one is not willing to communicate, no one would be able to reach them.

Vermilion Bird was the perfect example of this.

He had cut off the communication with the rest in the beginning in order to ensure that none of them would be able to detect that he was still there.

In order not to blow up the cover the Saphira had created for him to recover and for her in an emotional matter.

The rest had a tacit understanding that no matter what, they are to leave this one communication open.

Because this communication could be done no matter the distance.

That is one of the things that mythological beast levels could do.

Hunter had Qirin relayed to everyone to get the battle out of the imperial city.

They couldn't have more people being injured or worst dying.

They just started getting back up after the cleaning up.

Though he had expected this already.

If their thoughts were right then Chester will surely go against the royal family and teh appearance of the demonic beasts in the imperial city back then was the perfect proof.

"What's wrong?" Qirin asked him.

"It feels like we are missing something," Hunter replied but he couldn't point it out.

Unable to ponder about it for the battle was getting out of hand, he jumped to where Zian and Felix are after kicking the clone away.

"The mountains in the east, let's bring this battle over there."

They nodded their heads.

Just as the battle was moving, the people saw it and fear enveloped them.

The explosions and the attacks were fierce.

Stormie used another of her wind barier while Nixon supported with a water barrier when they reached the part of the town.

But as they did, both were kicked hard by the clone they are battling.

Both coughed up hard.

"Damn it, I finally remembered that when it comes to fist fights, I never got to win with him," Nixon said in between his coughs.

"You made me remember something unpleasant," Stormie replied just as the two of them rushed forward.

The two of them were dealing with three of these clones.

On the other hand, Drake and Hunter was busy dealing with four of the clones, one of which was the real one.

Felix, Ridge and Zian was facing one each.

Willow was the one supporting them in order to keep the battle above ground.

Stormie's flight isn't capable of that yet.

But soon, everything was being too much.

Chester was really far stronger than before.

Qirin, Azure Dragon, Roc, Phoenix and the king of Butterflies were supporting them but even that seemed to be lacking as Chester's clone could still actually deflect them.

'Just how strong have they become?' Hunter gritted his teeth.

This is too much of a difference in strength.

Indeed as each of them strengthen themselves their in born beasts would become stronger as well.

But how much more training are they supposed to do?

Hos much more must they wrack their brains to come up with better battle progress?

Why was it that with Chester alone, they felt like they were already losing?

In the end, five of them used complete union, where flight was what they had in union with their beasts.

Hunter, Stormie, Felix and Zian have wings behind their backs.

Willow was simply floating in air but a few scales could be seen in her cheeks.

Stormie had more capability when in this condition and since she had been practicing with each of them, supporting Ridge, Nixon and Drake were easier.

On the other hand, all three of them were used to it.

This time, Willow and Drake are battling three while Hunter was battling the real one.

As the battle continues, Hunter finally found the real one and had the others face the rest.

If he can deal enough damage to the real one, surely the clones would decrease.

That's when he realized one thing.

'His ability,' he spoke to Qirin.

This disparity in strength was too much, but what if it wasn't the real one and that they were just being deceived to have them lose hope?

Most of the time, people would make one think that they are far stronger in order to let them have their guards down but what if this was the opposite?

He looked around and found that the others were starting to lose their cool.

'Pass this mesaage to each of them. Calm down and fight to your best, this might be part of his ability. Just keep fighting without losing your confidence in your training and your own strength.'

Passing messages secretly are better right now.

This is in order to have the opponent think that they are being pushed too hard being unable to have any kind of teamwork.

Soon everyone's faces were looking better and uncertainty in their hearts slowly disappeared.

Hunter was right, he had reminded them about Chester's ability, obviously he wouldn't not use it in this battle.

The closest to Zian and Felix were then tasked to tell them about what Hunter had just said.

That no matter how much it seemed like they couldn't compare they have to trust themselves.

They must not be deceived by what they are simply witnessing and experiencing because it could just be their imagination.

Not the reality of the matter.

With that the fierceness of the battle increased and despite battling in air, the people in the ground could feel the pressure coming from their attacks.
