CHAPTER 185: See, See, I Told You

"Just accept it," Hunter said to him.

"I thank you, your majesty. Please do guide me," he relented.

"And prince Felix..."

Felix stood straight as if in a knight roll call.

"Yes, your majesty."

Reginald laughed, "Calm down as well. We are also greatful to you. You chose to leave your own home to fight alongside our children. If a time comes, I would love to meet you in person."

It was Felix's turn to be shock, he was simply accompanying them.

He felt that he will be stronger.

He felt that he will learn more.

He was the one gaining more in coming with them.

He felt like he didn't deserve the gratitude at all since he treated them badly in the beginning.

"I have heard that you held your ground in the battle against Chester until each of them have woken up. If you didn't then surely the rest would be a goner already."

Reginald turned serious, "All the seven families are grateful towards you and his majesty for protecting them."

Not everyone would stand up against such formidable opponents, some would rather wait for those who were given the mission to do it themselves.

That is why for Saphira and the rest to receive protection was something that is rare.

Reginald and the rest were seriously grateful towards Felix and Zian.

Even if Zian's reason was because this was their empire.

Felix could only bow and silently accept the gratefulness, he can see that denying or not accepting it is not acceptable at all.

"With that, why don't the two of you look at my father," Saphira finally speak up seeing as every formalities was done.

The four on the other side furrowed their brows before the other three looked at Archie as well as Felix and Zian.

"Can you say that he was once the greatest playboy?" Saphira asked again.

Archie who was receiving all the stares decided to have a drink to hide a bit, only to choke upon hearing his daughter's words.

"Sa- Saphira?"

Saphira grinned at him before looking back at Zian and Felix.

The two of them slowly shook their head.

Archie looked like a righteous and serious man for him to actually be called a playboy during his younger years.

"Oh," Carmilla clapped her hands together.

"Could you be talking about 'that' story?" she asked.

Saphira nodded her head, "I stared at that man for a long time mother and I must say, he must have looked good during his younger years."

"I know, he really was a good looking one."

"Ca- Carmilla?" Archie was lookinga t his wife feeling wronged.

"Come on, you have seen him yourself, he had that charisma," Carmilla told him.

Archie's face darkened before glaring at his daughter.

It was a while since they saw her, but the first thing she would do was to actually compliment another man in front of him together with her mother.

Saphira laughed, she knew her father wasn't really mad.

"That was partly your fault father, it took you a while speaking so righteously about concentrating on your family. If you didn't give that man a time then surely he wouldn't have caused you troubles then."

Archie harrumphed, "He wasn't a trouble at all."

All the rest other than Saphira, tilted their head to the side or furrowed their brows out of curiosity.

"It wasn't much of a big deal," Carmilla spoke seeing the looks on the children.

"You see..."

(Flashback)

Carmilla and her family was called to the palace days after they rejected the engagement from the prince.

Upon arriving she saw that the prince was there with his knights.

The emperor then was massaging his temple.

She greeted them politely.

But they weren't the only ones there, the heads were present as well.

"Ah, there you are my dear, do tell them. I know it wasn't you who rejected the engagement with me. You were smiling so beautifully towards me."

Carmilla was taken a back by his sudden words.

Just when did she smile at him?

"I apologize your highness, but I don't think I have the chance to meet you in the past," she answered politely.

"No!! You were smiling at me back in the ball during winter. It was the first ball held in this empire where other royals were invited," he was even shaking his head.

He fell in love at first sight towards her when their eyes met and she smiled so sweetly towards him.

"We are also an empire, even though smaller than Qillian, you all should not stop our love for one another," he then accused the heads and the emperor.

Now, not only the emperor but Asherton and the rest were feeling that they were about to have a headache.

He was accusing them as if he was so certain.

Carmilla thought back to that ball.

If she remembered clearly, she had joined that ball in particular because Archie will surely be there.

It took her a while before she spotted him in the corner, girls were still around him but not as much as before.

That was also the first time that their eyes met.

She knew he had been avoiding her eyes all the time they are in the same ball.

With that moment, she couldn't help but to smile sweetly towards him.

Other than that smile, she was sure that she didn't smile any longer during that ball.

"Your highness, could you be standing at the east side of the party back then?" she asked just to make sure.

"See, see, I told you," he proudly said towards the rest.

On the other hand, they looked at Carmilla with confusion.

So she did smile at him?

Her father looked at her asking with his eyes if she really did lead him on.

Carmilla shook her head while waving her hands, "I apologize your highness, but I think you are mistaken. I was not smiling at you, I was smiling at the person behind you. I apologize for the misunderstanding but you just stood at my line of sight back then."
