CHAPTER 238: I Wonder How She Is

During this time, Ridge's father, Radcliff Amethyst wasn't the head of Amethyst family yet.

He was but the top scientist in the empire.

He started laughing when his son suddenly rushed to his side and hid behind his legs, then followed by Hunter who was filled with enthusiasm.

He had heard of the second prince's love of going around the castle.

And it seems his current playground is the potion making building.

Radcliff introduced Ridge to Hunter.

And that is where Hunter started hanging out with Ridge whenever he has no classes.

Little by little, Ridge started becoming comfortable around the energetic prince and the two became good friends.

"Are we really supposed to be here?" Ridge asked in a hush tone.

"Of course, of course," Hunter said before pulling him into another building.

If Ridge was not wrong, this was supposed to be the poison making building.

As Hunter made turns here and there and as they crawled over another hole in the wall and climbed another window, they ended up in a room.

"Who are you?"

They turned in cold sweat when they heard a voice in the room they entered.

There stood a red haired, orange eyes girl.

She was thin and her dress seemed old, nevertheless she doesn't have any sort of injuries.

They sighed in relief seeing as it was also a young girl.

"Are you a servant here?" Hunter asked.

The girl's eyes moved before she slowly nodded her head.

"Hmmmm, you look too thin, are they feeding you?" he asked again.

Ridge was seriously amazed at how proactive in acquainting himself, Hunter is.

The girl nodded her head again.

"Do you want to play?" he asked.

The girl was obviously shocked before falling into deep thoughts, then slowly she nodded her head.

"But I... can't leave this place," she then said.

"Oh, that is easy, you follow us then we can secretly move about," Hunter extended his little hand towards hers.

He was aware that most servants can't go around as they please, or even play during working hours.

But seeing as the girl was alone in the room, he just pulled her along.

And soon the three of them were running about in a meadow not far from the palace.

Even Ridge was utterly shocked that Hunter actually knew how to sneak out of the castle and find such a beautiful place.

"Wow."

The gloomy looking girl finally had a wide smile on her lips.

"Right? Isn't it beautiful?" Hunter asked.

The girl nodded her head with enthusiasm.

She had always been inside, unable to play around, but for the very first time, she got the chance to play and see such a beautiful place.

Hunter grinned seeing the girl smiling happily.

"We only have one hour to play, so let's go," he pulled the two of them.

The three of them run about until the time is up before they sneakily returned the girl in her room.

"We'll come back again," Hunter said.

The girl nodded her head, "Thank you for playing with me."

"Oh what was your name? We didn't get to ask."

The girl smiled sweetly giving her the cutest look she ever had after they met her.

"Elise."

Days passed and the three of them would play around not one noticing that they had been leaving the premise.

"Ouch."

Hunter and Ridge turned to Elise when they heard her cry in pain.

"What's wrong? What happened? Were you hurt?" Hunter asked worriedly.

Elise stood up and wiped her hand on the hem of her dress.

"I am fine."

"But you wiped your hands on your dress."

She shook her little hands, "I tripped and dirtied my hands."

She then showed them both her hands, "See there's nothing."

They inspected it over and over again. Seeing as she really was not wounded, they finally let her go.

"Anyway, if you ever get wounded just tell Ridge, he has healing potions with him," Hunter informed her.

"You're a potion maker?" Elise gasped.

Ridge smiled, "I am learning."

"But you are only four!!"

"You are also four, all of us are four," he rebuked.

"That's not what I mean. I mean you are amazing, to be able to create one when all the adults around me are still agonizing over the things that they are doing."

"You are watching them make their things?" Hunter asked her.

She stopped momentarily before smiling, "Yeah, from time to time."

"Then be careful, you must not get caught. As you work in the palace there are things you aren't supposed to see," Hunter reminded her.

Her smile became strained, "But aren't you the same, moving around sneakily. I am very sure you will be punished severely prince."

"I can manage."

Hunter even hit his chest to show that he was serious.

The other two laughed.

*****

"Why is there blood in your dress?"

After getting back, after sitting down for just ten minutes, someone came to her room.

"I... accidentally hit the table and wounded my self."

It has always been like this.

Every time someone would check on her they will check even her clothes.

The blood on the hem that was underneath not allowing Hunter and Drake to see, was seen by this person.

He squinted his eyes before pulling her hand harshly.

She winced in pain but didn't utter a word.

He checked her hands and seeing that there was no wound he let her go.

"You know your blood is very much important in what we are doing. Don't go wasting it over some useless accidental wounds."

"Yes, sir. I am sorry."

"Rest properly, we will have another activity tonight."

"Yes, sir."

After that the grey haired old man, with his face filled with wrinkles harrumphed and left her alone.

She sighed before looking outside the window.

She remembered the times she spent with them and smiled.

'You guys are the only light in this dark world. If only no one realized then maybe I will have a better life.'

Then she remembered someone else, 'I wonder how she is?'

She sighed and lay down, ready to sleep before the activities were to begin again.
