CHAPTER 237: He Run To His Father

Just then, the princess opened her eyes and screamed upon seeing Nixon who was still closest to her.

All of them were shock, even Reginald.

She looked around and screamed out of fear.

Hunter furrowed his brows and approached her.

"Calm down, you are safe now," he said as he squatted beside her.

The princess was trembling but when she saw Hunter, her actions caused the rest of them to be stupefied.

The princess actually jumped and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Even Hunter sat in silence unable to move to the sudden turn of events.

Saphira was the first to blink and recover.

She walked over and squatted behind Hunter so that she could face the princess.

She smiled, "Princess may I ask you what are you doing here?"

She had seen genuine terror on the face of this person.

So she wasn't mad for what she had done, though her mind was turning as to why she would suddenly jump on Hunter.

Maybe because of Saphira's ability in attracting people due to Lily, the princess looked at her before slowly shaking her head.

"I... don't know..."

She furrowed her brows, "I... don't know..."

Hunter pursed his lips when her arms wrapped tighter around his neck.

"I... don't know... anything... Why?"

Her question, as she looked at Saphira, baffled even Saphira.

"What's your name princess?" Saphira guessed.

"I am... I... I don't ... know..."

Terror filled her eyes once again as big drops of tears came from them.

Saphira can tell that she was starting to have a panic attack.

"Ridge."

Ridge walked over and allowed her to smell a sleeping potion.

Soon, her tight hug on Hunter loosened but she didn't let go.

As if she was holding on her last life line.

Saphira looked back at Reginald, "What is the name of this princess, your majesty?"

"Elizabeth, Elizabeth Byron."

"As you have witnessed, your majesty. The princess seemed to have lost her memory. I didn't see any lies within her," she added.

Reginald sighed and glanced at his son who could only carry Elizabeth as she didn't want to let go.

"She only looked like Elise," he commented.

Hunter turned away.

"But the king of Atria Kingdom is a good friend of mine. I'll inform him about this but I am tasking you to escort the princess back to the kingdom."

All of them bowed their heads in acknowledgement.

"Saphira..." he called just as Saphira was about to end the call.

She looked at him and he looked straight in her eyes as if deciphering something.

She tilted her head to the side before Reginald smiled.

"Nothing... Be careful now."

Saphira furrowed her brows in confusion before shrugging it off.

"Okay, shall we get going?" she turned to them.

As they walked towards the nearest village.

She faced Hunter, "I guess you are left with taking care of her for now. She won't let you go."

Hunter frowned but he didn't look as repulsive if it was someone else.

"Say Saphira, why do you think she calmed down when Hunter approached her?" Stormie asked curiously.

"I think you could say it was like imprinting?" Saphira started.

She had thought about this a while ago and came up with the answer she has now.

"Imprinting?"

"Well when Hunter took her out of those bodies, she opened her eyes very slightly. You know just like when birds first opened their eyes and becomes attached to the one they first saw."

Each of the other six slowly turned to Hunter whose frown deepened.

Saphira laughed, "What I mean is, she had just lost her memory. Which means everything is blank and then Hunter was the first one she saw before once again falling unconscious. So there."

The rest started teasing Hunter that he now has a child to take care of.

Saphiar was smiling with them when she was suddenly nudged on the side.

"I see that you are handling this quite well."

She turned towards Willow before chuckling.

"Things turned just like that. I won't allow it if I saw disgust on him but as you can see, he seemed..."

She trailed off and Willow understood what she was trying to say.

Hunter's trauma was brought out by this person.

The one he and Ridge was unable to protect was suddenly brought to life by this princess.

"And now we are tasked to protect her until we reach their kingdom," Saphira added.

The feeling of being unable to protect before was now being used to want to do the right thing.

Ridge furrowed his brows as he were close to them.

"I do feel guilty but..."

"You and Hunter are different, your character didn't change only your obsession but he was changed because of that person."

Thinking back, Hunter was actually a playful one, just like how Drake was changed by his brother's death. Hunter changed because of Elise's death.

They arrived at a village and went into an inn, there Elizabeth was made to rest in one bed and luckily, she finally let go of Hunter.

The eight of them went to eat.

"So tell us, you did say she died but can you say the story?" Nixon asked Ridge.

Ridge smiled bitterly, "Well, I guess I can do that now."

He glanced at Hunter who remained silent.

(Flashback)

As a child of Amethyst Family, Ridge had always been going to the castle.

Amethyst Family was the main potion makers of the Empire and they do most of their research within the castle.

There he became acquainted with Hunter at the age of 4.

He, who loves running around the castle, chanced upon the building where the potions are being made.

"Woah, did you just turn that black color into... pink?"

Ridge who was focused on his lesson, jumped upon hearing a voice behind him.

He turned and blinked a few times seeing two golden brown orbs looking straight at his purple ones.

These two eyes were filled with curiosity and amazement.

"I..."

"Say, how did you do it?"

"I..."

"Turning pink color to black is easy but black to pink... That's amazing!!!!"

He blinked again unable to follow through the sudden enthusiasm.

In the end, he run to his father.
