CHAPTER 322: So I Am A Guinea Pig Now?

In truth, this wasn't the first time she tried this. Instead, she did it with her own ability.

The reason for her strength when she had to face the dark forces when everyone found out the truth.

Towards Vermilion Bird and Lily, it was a success allowing them to become stronger but she was not confident if she did it with the rest. Every time she fought alongside them. She was trying to see if there is a chance to do the same with them. But she couldn't find the sign she was looking for.

It was only now that they got the chance to properly talk that she found what she was looking for. The sign that there is resonance between the light ability and the rest of the other abilities.

"Did you two just…" Willow couldn't finish what she wanted to ask.

But it was a known fact that incorporating two different mana on one body is painful, yet it didn't seem like Hunter was in so much pain. They can see pain, but not too much.

"Experiment successful," Saphira happily said.

"Ouch…"

She looked back at Hunter when he knocked on her head using his knuckles.

"So, I am a guinea pig now."

She grinned, she knew he was simply joking. If not then he wouldn't have stopped her when she took a step back in order to stop what she wants to try with him.

She felt lighter and she could easily laugh unlike the past few months where her guilt had been eating her up.

"Now gather up, we shall do this with the rest of you," she instructed them.

"As for the pain. I hope you can endure it as well."

No one objected. What was the bit of pain they will go through if they will have higher chances of winning this battle?

"I can feel that she seriously surpassed her predecessors," Lily commented.

It wasn't simply a feeling of being the guardian but a feeling coming from the bottom of her heart.

It was something that she can confidently say that it was indeed the case.

"Hmmm," Vermilion Bird reacted but he was watching the light surrounding Lily instead of truly listening to her.

He can see clearly that the light surrounding her was brighter than before.

But Saphira had told him that she can feel there is more to the light ability.

This must be one of it but there must be something more.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked.

"She is too bright," he commented.

Lily momentarily stopped upon hearing his comment.

'Too… bright,' she thought.

Something was nagging her, something inside her was nagging her ever since the scenes of Saphira's predecessor appeared within their minds.

A nagging feeling, she couldn't pinpoint no matter how much she tries.

"What is it?"

Seeing her reaction, Vermilion Bird inquired.

She shook her head, "Nothing, it's just the vision we had been seeing, what do you think about it?"

He sighed, "How would I know? It was too much of a confusing thing but it doesn't seem like it was something that is connected to what we are facing now."

"That's true but why would it just appear?"

"Shouldn't that be a question you would be the one answering instead of asking?"

She rolled her eyes, "I wouldn't ask if I know the answer and I am the most confused as I am the guardian yet I am seeing things I couldn't even recognize other than the fact that it felt familiar."

"You do know she tried to look into it. The reason she had been looking into the history of the light ability. But it seems that no one wants the world to remember it seeing as there was very few information regarding it."

"And that is what makes everything confusing," Lily sighed.

Vermilion Bird closed his eyes once again, he was too lazy to think with Lily right now.

'Vermilion Bird come out.'

He frowned when his sleep was interrupted.

'What do you want?'

'Just come out.'

"He will be the one sending you the light ability."

His head snapped towards Saphira when he heard her giving him another task.

"Why should I?" he instantly complained.

"Because the light ability had been within you all along."

"HUH?!?!"

Vermilion Bird's reaction caused the rest to be shock.

"You were unaware?" Saphira was also shock.

While she was trying to incorporate the light ability with Vermilion Bird, everything went smoothly that she knew Vermilion Bird must have it within him as well. The light ability guardian or to be precise, Lily, after hatching, had actually not only allowed Saphira to have the ability but also incorporated itself to Vermilion Bird, who was sharing the same space as the egg.

She thought Vermilion Bird would have felt it, who would have thought he was completely unaware.

She squinted her eyes at Vermilion Bird and walked closer to him.

"Wha- What?"

He tried flying higher but Saphira was faster, she grabbed on to his wings.

"Painful… painful…"

"I was wondering why I was exerting so much effort in practicing both abilities back then. You were asleep weren't you?"

"I… I don't know what you are saying…"

"Should I call Lily," she glared at him while holding him tighter.

"Fine… fine… I admit…"

With a huff Saphira pulled a feather of his from his wing.

"OUCH!!!"

"That's your punishment."

Vermilion Bird glared back at her as he landed on her shoulder before checking at his plucked feather in her hand.

He did not expect that his laziness would be found out by her.

Qirin and the rest looked at him in an amused manner, truly he changed a lot after Saphira became his host.

"Anyway, you will be the one sending them the mana. It will be easier since you all are mythological beast."

"You are already giving their brats the mana," he still complained.

Saphira rolled her eyes, "Isn't it because we needed both beast and host to have the strength? Even if the host has the light ability, it doesn't mean that the beast would have it already."

"That's too much work!!!"

"Should I pluck all of your feathers then?"

He instantly flew up.

"Ardel have not shown his beast, don't forget that," she turned serious.

Vermilion Bird sighed upon hearing her words, that was the truth.

They only met him and the fact that his beast have not shown itself yet, meant that he still has strength up his sleeve.

"Fine."
