CHAPTER 329: Things We Do Just To Live
"So this is the barrier that they were talking about," Reginald commented.
They were able to feel the barrier as it passes by them and expanded all over the land. It really was a power they were all unfamiliar with yet could give them strength in their hearts.
"Can you still keep up?" Saphira asked them.
They all nodded, not even a hint of tiredness despite the amount of mana they used to erect such a big barrier.
"Then this time, it will be a bit different. Keep up with me."
They wondered what she meant but hearing nothing more, they simply prepared their minds to what she has in store for them.
'Vermilion Bird, expand your power in me.'
All this time, what she had been sending to Felix and what she used a while ago were the fire power of her alone.
Only a bit of Vermilion Bird's power were included.
The reason being she wouldn't be able to keep up in using the light ability while also sending out Vermilion Bird's power.
This time, she will be combining both of them since Vermilion Bird's power is now incorporated with the light power more than the rest of them.
Phoenix may have been able to reach the mythological beast level of power but Vermilion Bird remains as the king of the fire beasts.
He has the strongest fire power and now Saphira does not only intend on having the seven main abilities to become the pillar.
She also plans on having the fire ability of the mythological beast that was enhanced far greater by the light ability in becoming the wall that connects all the seven pillars.
'You truly know how to use everything in your arsenal,' Vermilion Bird commented.
It was only her who was reckless enough to actually use an overpowered ability that could cause one to damage themself.
Yet somehow, Vermilion Bird knew she would be fine. He has confidence that no matter how overpowered the move she will make use of, she will come out just fine.
Lily shook her head, she too is hats off towards Saphira.
She comes up with things, Lily could feel no one else have ever tried. She does things that Lily knew no other light ability user was able to do.
Even with his rebuke, Vermilion Bird flew out of her and spread his wings.
The rest were shock nevertheless the moment he spread his wings above them, little fire rain came down on them and as Saphira expanded the barrier, these little fires integrated itself on the wall giving it a different glow.
People came out of their houses upon seeing a spectacle.
It was very pretty, a scene that could be seen all over the imperial city.
Saphira could feel her magical power draining rapidly nevertheless, she kept going.
When she finally finished, she ended up coughing.
'It seems I was actually holding my breath while creating the barrier.'
She weakly sat down on the ground while still coughing.
"Are you okay?"
The rest rushed to her seeing how pale she had become.
Even they felt the strong surge of magical power leaving their bodies, if so, hers would have been more. Especially when she had Vermilion Bird add his own power.
Over all, their magical powers are connected that she will feel the brunt of it.
After coughing she started laughing and sat down lazily on the ground.
"Seriously, things we do just to live."
"What's wrong?" Hunter asked worriedly.
She shook her head, "I just felt like my whole life revolved around wanting to survive. That feeling the end of all this makes me laugh."
She looked up in the sky and the dark night with stars glimmering in them seemed like it has more at this moment.
The amber color of the fire that was integrated in the barrier added to the shimmering faraway stars.
"Hey Hunter... How will we live after this?"
He frowned a little upon hearing her unexpected question.
"I mean, we lived our lives taking care of the world so how are we going to take care of ourselves after this?"
Her questioned seemed silly but to the lot of them who lived their lives preparing and fighting it actually became a question with a deeper meaning.
"Removing all the responsibilities that our titles entail. How should we live?"
She was telling them to wonder as a person and not as the children of the ducal families or the child of the royal family.
They each have their responsibilities but unlike the time they had to keep on fighting where all their focus is on fighting. How will they live with minimal responsibilities to do?

A silly yet difficult question to answer.
She grinned, "Let's live doing everything we couldn't while we are in this battle. Enjoy the ocean, the gardens. Enjoy the food and the drinks. Enjoy the feeling of our bed. Let's enjoy everything to our hearts content."
They couldn't help but laugh, that's right, why not? Why don't they just enjoy everything?
"Without having to burden ourselves to think too much about the future, we should live our present as much as we can. I mean we deserve it right?"
"Of course we do," Stormie replied with a laugh.
"Hmmm I have an activity I wished to try," Willow followed.
"Me too, there is something I wanted to try," Ridge followed.
"To look for different species?" Nixon replied.
"No!!!" he rebuked.
The rest laughed.
"I wish to tour the world and find a place for myself."
Their laughs stopped when Ridge spoke what he wanted to do.
"Hey, that's quite deep," Nixon asked with uncertainty.
"I mean, I want to spend my time searching for more things that I can do. More people that I could meet. I want to explore as much as I can without the confines of our empire. To explore the lands we've been to without the confines of being there since we are in a mission. I want to know more."
As he spoke of this, each of them started pondering again.
What do they really wish to do after this?
