CHAPTER 339: Whether Love Or Prestige

"But you used your strength in the wrong place. You look down on people and always think about background and stuff. If you had just accepted everyone as they were. If you just saw the work we also put into our training. You will stop thinking that we became like this because of our blood."

Samuel's hatred that was increasing, stopped.

Saphira momentarily stopped as well, it was abrupt that it shocked her.

And what's more, the water prison together with the poison that was slowly chipping away Samuel's life, showed signs of increase in its light attribute.

This caused the darkness to be restrained.

"Saphira!!" Hunter called out as he parried an attack coming from Raynisha.

He and Drake used the whole ground beneath them, together with the magma and metals that makes up a part of the earth were pulled along.

Raynisha was indeed strong that they are using their everything to attack and defend from her.

All this time, she never showed her beast.

Who would have thought that it was actually a phoenix beast, strengthened farther by darkness that it has become stronger than two other mythological beasts.

"We may seem playful to you back then but there are things you couldn't see. The things we do whenever our training with you are over," Ridge continued.

They all have this, the urge to tell the elite squad the words they couldn't say before they died and the words they wished to say after finding out that the elite squad actually hated them.

Samuel was glaring at them, he couldn't move and he felt weaker and weaker.

"We should have hated you and got mad at you after finding out your true feelings but we learned that we shouldn't. There's no point and it will just be a shackle to us. The reason why you ended up being like this."

Samuel glared at Ridge.

But before he could open his mouth, a sword was pierced through his heart.

"But also, we have our loved ones we wanted to cherish. The reason we needed to be stronger and protect them from everything, whether the past, the present or the future."

Nixon, who had been calm since a while ago, had his face darken but it was clear that he was still clear minded.

"And that is why I wished to finish you myself. For hurting her innocent heart and insulting her as a person. Someone like you... does not deserve anything whether love or prestige..."

Samuel coughed up blood without having a chance to speak more.

Nixon sighed when it was finally over.

It may seem like it was easy but it took their everything just to ensure that they are to kill Samuel.

He was still strong that the two of them couldn't take it easy.

"Stormie!!!"

Just as they finished, they heard Willow scream.

"What happened?" Nixon called out.

"I am fine, don't worry. Keep on supporting the rest of the people. We have to lessen the casualties as much as possible or else we will just keep on having more enemies."

Despite her heavy breathing, she was able to speak normally.

"But..."

"I am fine Nix... we are fighting for our loved ones... right? For the present, the future and most of all the past."

Nixon pursed his lips, that's right, at this moment what he needed to do was to trust her for everything.

Hearing nothing more from him, Stormie sighed in relief.

She was indeed wounded, quite deeply. But not to the point where she was in critical condition.

Fiona had lost it completely, something they didn't intend but ended up doing so.

With that she was attacking blindly that it became more difficult for Willow and Stormie to keep up.

Stormie gritted her teeth as she held on to her wounded left shoulder, it run deep that her bones were visible. She can tell that even if Nixon were to come and heal her, her left arm will no longer be of use. So she will just go on and fight while allowing Willow to support her arm with her vines.

She wanted to finish this battle now and get back to Fiona everything she did.

Every single thing.

"You'll be fine."

She blinked when she heard Saphira's voice.

It was different from moments ago where it was what she was used to.

This time, she felt that Saphira's voice sounded ethereal somehow.

And somehow when she glanced at Willow, she could see that this voice was not heard by them.

"Keep fighting while I help you," Saphira continued.

She moved back from the battle allowing the other three to fight for her.

She didn't know exactly herself but when Nixon and Ridge ended Samuel in a way that did not consume them with hatred or anything, she felt her light ability getting stronger despite the fact that she was not the one who defeated Samuel.

And as she felt it, she felt she can do more.

Trying to do so, she was able to speak with Stormie without anyone knowing.

With the increase in her strength after Samuel was beaten, she can feel the lives of her friends even more. So, she knew that Stormie was gravely wounded.

Her instinct can also feel that she can heal her.

Despite the distance, she can heal her.

Lily, who had been supporting her in her use of the light ability, was the most shock at this development.

She never felt that there could be a chance where when one shares the light ability, the accomplishment of those who received it would actually be transferred to her.

It was clear that when she defeated darkness, the light ability would absorb the darkness and could use it to strengthen one's self.

It's just, Lily felt that this is something that seemed impossible for her, who was the guardian of the light.

She was born as the guardian but she felt like she was actually born to simply observe how Saphira works with the light ability.
