Chapter 64

Jack returned with his master in tow, but Cardinal Paul was not present. This confused both Jacob and Timothy, but seeing the confused expressions on their face, Jack's master began to explain. "Since you have chosen to head over to the Monster's Wasteland, Cardinal Paul felt that it would be even less safe if others knew about this. Therefore, he made one of Jack's senior brothers use a technique so his outward appearance would look like Timothy, so that no one with ill intentions would be able to act against you."

"I was actually a bit taken back since you have made the decision to leave your family behind. I guess I underestimated you as well. Luckily, those who opposed the Emperor's decision, were forced to take an oath to not harm you for what had occurred, since it is not like you killed anyone during that little episode of yours. So, as far as the world knows, you are excommunicated, but can at least have a brand new start. Also, the Emperor at the request of Cardinal Paul gave you a World's Badge. The badge will be recognized by every kingdom and will allow you to receive a verification certificate since you have done so in Bark Kingdom for no charge."

"But remember, it could only be used a single time, so use it carefully. On the outside, it looks like every other World's Badge which are given to the most prized citizens of the Bark Kingdom. Therefore, if you could afford to hold onto it long term speaking, it may help you get out of some smaller troubles." Jack's master explained as he handed over the World's Badge to Timothy which had Bark Kingdom's royal symbol. Since Bark Kingdom was not currently in a war with another human kingdom, this World's Badge currently had no negative side effects!

"So, since you two are ready to head out immediately, both of you touch this artifact. It is a low level artifact, but it will change your appearances enough to not be noticed by anyone else within Mist City whether friend or foe. I will be escorting you both to the Monster's Wasteland border so there will be no worry of either one of you being in immediate danger, that is until you both head into that area." Jack's master told the two as he held out the artifact.

Without wasting any more time, both Jacob and Timothy touched the artifact and sure enough, they looked completely different. According to Jack's master, its effects would remain for a total of twenty four hours. After that, their appearances would return to normal. And so the three began to head out by heading outside into the Holy Sword Institute's courtyard where Jack's master kept his transportation artifacts.

Since no one knew that he was given a chariot of the ghastly model, the group chose to use it to draw even less attention to themselves. Just like he started his journey to Mist City, Timothy felt a sense of excitement, even if he was more or less being forced into a dangerous area that was not frequented much by experts that were even stronger than he currently was.

Once the chariot exited Mist City, Timothy could not help but to look to the side as many groups of powerful looking experts were waiting outside. This was his confirmation that everyone thus far had been telling him the truth. Many of the leaders of these groups were also Master stage cultivators and there were roughly five hundred individuals combined.

"You do not need to worry about them, those who remain outside of Mist City are only searching for you so that they could act like they are doing the royal family a big favor. There are very few present here who actually gained any benefits from the last Emperor. Just like in the future, you will have the choice to make such decisions and so do not blame anyone down there for the one they made."

"Besides, the governor of Mist City told them that soon they will all be welcomed into the city. I have known the governor for quite some time now, and let me be the first to tell you I still feel uneasy dealing with their family. The governor knows how to make things look wonderful on the surface, while on the inside is a very cunning individual who knows to to profit from every situation."

"Those groups will just be used accordingly in order to boost Mist City's economy while feeling as if they are being opened warmly. Still, it will at least be able to allow my Holy Sword Institute to have more youths to recruit as time goes on, so it is not like I could complain." Jack's master told the two in a mental message as the chariot's speed increased by tenfold and instantly jumped a quarter of the way to the Monster's Wasteland in a single moment.

Jacob was more shocked by how fast it was compared to Timothy, because Jacob was very green when it even came to learning different things about Bark Kingdom. Over time, Timothy would slowly help educate him a little more since the two would be traveling together and learning new things at the same time.

To his surprise, Timothy heard a very clear and familiar voice. It was Master Sei which caused him to feel very good as he listened closely. "I am sorry my disciple, that Cardinal Paul as well as the so-called Duchess he brought over with him would be able to detect my presence. Do not worry, your family will indeed remain safe, but I am also thrilled that you were able to head towards the Monster's Wasteland, especially with your brother Jacob by your side."
