Chapter 74

Timothy had no reason not to trust his master, but his response was indeed annoying to deal with at the present. Not every master and disciple shared everything about themselves with each other, but why would he say that it was not safe for him to learn some of these things from his master's past? Especially when it would be impossible for others to find these things out?

The entire situation confused him, but all Timothy could do was continue moving forward and leaving such small matters behind him for the time being. Even though Jacob had proven himself to be useful while helping him deal with the level one demon beasts in the area, they were still in danger just remaining this close to two level two demon beasts, even if they had a barrier up to block them out.

"You know, after I killed the level one demon beast, I ran up the mountain to the very top in order to look at how all of the others in the area would react. When I looked over at both level two demon beasts, they locked eyes with me before they themselves started taking naps. I do not know about you, but it seems like they are turning a blind eye to us and do not actually mind that we are trying to kill all of the weaker demon beasts that they have been living near for the heavens for how long!" Jacob told Timothy as he finished up his daily routine.

"I think your observation is correct. We should still be on guard against them tomorrow, but I think it is also safe to assume that maybe the two do not get along and are just waiting for us to act against one of them so that the other could kill the one we bother." Timothy replied after pondering over Jacob's words.

"If they are living on complete opposite sides from one another and the middle in between them are many weaker demon beasts, maybe they would even allow us to kill all of the weaker ones so that they could split up the remaining land that would be left over?" Timothy also commented before shrugging it all off and continued to cultivate as Jacob sat across from him and began cultivating as well.

As the two brothers finished with their personal tasks, they actually decided to head out together in order to test their luck against the level one demon beasts. There were many of them, but it seemed that none had any hard to deal with abilities and traits like the worm type demon beast was on their first day in the area.

"Remember what we talked about Jacob, if one of or both level two demon beasts begin to make a move against us, you are to put up the grade one barrier I gave to you and you are to escape as quickly and as far as possible while I will do the same. It may not be what we want, but you are technically not excommunicated from Bark Kingdom like I am, so it is mostly my problem to survive out here." Timothy told Jacob as the two exited the cave.

"Besides, it is not like I will be unable to send some experts over to deliver anything I need to reach you or my family if I can make it to the Stone Kingdom. I also did some research on the Stone Kingdom, and there are actually quite a few powerful organizations that take on mercenary type jobs, especially because their kingdom only knows peace right now."

"I did not even realize it at first, but the royal family of the Stone Kingdom, and their direct neighbor the royal family of the Snow Kingdom created a marriage proposal and so the two are technically allies as long as the marriage lasts, which only began four years ago. Plus, both of them are cultivators so their overall age if they were to die of old age, has increased by quite a bit!" Timothy continued to tell Jacob about his findings as they finally made it up to the top of the mountain.

"But Tim, isn't the Sky Kingdom right near the Snow Kingdom? They are infamous for starting wars with just about everyone, even if their so-called enemies are on the complete opposite side of the world! And not just that but directly above the Snow Kingdom is part of the Demon Beast Continent that is filled to the brim of countless demon beasts ready to invade at any moment!" Jacob told Timothy as the two continued to watch the demon beasts from down below.

"You worry too much, you should know that the alliance which was formed between all royal families in every human kingdom is responsible for killing those demon beasts and mostly only responsible for guarding the borders. It would be a good idea for us to try and join the Dragon Guard in the future because they apparently give each cultivator many resources and if you are unable to serve due to injury, all of your future expenses would be handled." Timothy told Jacob before jumping down, now that he had a proper target he locked onto.

"Are you ever going to just relax and worry more about the present instead of only the future?" Jacob replied while shaking his head. Fortunately, he found his own target on the eastern side. The two decided that it would be best if they split up so that one of them could handle all of the level one demon beasts on the western side and the other on the eastern side.

It was decided to go about it this way, because there would be only a difference of one or two level one demon beasts and it could be a good way to see how the level two demon beasts in the big area would react. If they split up and the level two demon beasts did not act, it would mean that they would be free to kill the others as they pleased. Ordinary demon beasts were not very intelligent, so it would be somewhat easy for Timothy and Jacob to outsmart them as long as they did not show any hostility towards them.
