Chapter 75

Timothy was now facing off against a salamander type of demon beast, and he felt like it was time to experiment more with using his battle Qi and his energy. However, this time he would not be using any weapons and the equipment he wore was light enough for him not to worry about lacking any speed, while giving him some additional protection from the demon beast's attacks.

To his surprise, the demon beast also specialized in speed and actually lacked power. Therefore, Timothy knew he made the correct decision on a training level by choosing this demon beast first. It landed a blow on his chest with its tail, but it only caused Timothy to bounce back. This meant that at least for the time being, he could use the demon beast as a practice dummy since only the claws on its hands looked sharp!

Several minutes had gone by, and Timothy was now sweating quite a bit, but he had a big smile on his face. Not only did he realize that he had much higher stamina and endurance compared to his opponent, but he was able to slowly cripple many of its body parts while sustaining almost no injuries. He completely outclassed his opponent and also had the time to experiment with his own techniques, making them that much closer to being complete.

Once he officially killed the demon beast who was unable to even walk at that point, Timothy put its corpse in his storage ring as he headed towards the second opponent. He chose to fight against a bull-like demon beast who clearly relied on its size and horns on its head to overpower and kill its target. Timothy hoped that Jacob would also use such a good opportunity so that he could temper his strength and fully grasp his strengths and weaknesses.

The fight lasted much longer as Timothy would be pushed back and then counter attack and push the demon beast back. As far as physical strength, the two were rather even, and it seemed like they were roughly equal in every other way as well. However, due to being pushed back so much, the demon beast looked like its legs were becoming weaker. Its body was quite heavy and its legs were most likely not used to a prolonged battle.

Seeing that his opponent was now suffering quite a bit, Timothy launched the land technique that his master had passed down to him. First he would bring his fingers very close together before slightly shifting all of his fingers except his middle one in a strange looking claw like way, and then he would circulate and combine both his battle Qi and energy into them before launching his attack. The basis of the technique was to use his hand like a claw and simply dig through his opponent's body like it's just a small piece of clay.

After landing two blows, the demon beast finally gave up and collapsed on the ground with a loud thumping noise. Timothy could only put its corpse into the storage ring with no emotions and to continue onward to the next opponent of his choosing. As time went on, he would defeat and then kill four more demon beasts with all different types of physiques and specialties.

After the fourth demon beast, Timothy felt like it was finally time to head back to his temporary home and to see how Jacob was able to do. He was rather confident that since the level two demon beast closest to him chose not to act against him, that the one closest to Jacob more than likely had done the same.

"You must have taken things really slow." laying down on his bed, Jacob looked over to Timothy before slightly grinning. Jacob was covered in blood and many claws and other types of marks. It looked like he had just barely survived and Timothy could not help but to rush over to him. "Hey, do not act so down, wounds like these are not enough to kill me!" Jacob told Timothy before coughing up some blood.

"Jacob, I will not be losing you, just let me try to clean you up and close the wounds. You will make it through this!" Timothy now feeling frantic said before withdrawing several cleaning cloths to help clean off the excess blood on Jacob's body as he used his stitching type equipment to close some of the wounds.

After two long hours, Timothy was able to close all of Jacob's wounds and even gave him some basic medical pills so that Jacob would feel less pain and fall asleep. He was still unsure how such a scene had happened, but quite a bit of anger rose from his chest as he made his way up the mountain to scout the area that Jacob was responsible for clearing during the day.

Just as he thought, the level two demon beast looked as if it was sleeping throughout and did not act against Jacob, however, Timothy was shocked to see only three other demon beasts in the eastern area. This meant that in the same span of time, Jacob was able to kill sixteen level one demon beasts without stopping. It was now very understandable concerning how Jacob had so many wounds on his body.

The biggest downfall of Body Refinement cultivators, was that they were usually overconfident since their bodies were so strong and well maintained. So in this case, Jacob had gone overboard most likely because he was only receiving small wounds every battle as he fought through, but what he probably did not realize was after sixteen consecutive battles, the small wounds would increase to a deadly point.

"You might be worried about him, but since he was baptized in battle and through so much demon beast blood, it is safe to say that brother of yours most likely found a way to tap into his Aura of the King aura during battle which is why he continued on even while sustaining such injuries." Master Sei began to explain things to Timothy.
