Chapter 100

After talking for about twenty minutes longer, it was finally decided that Timothy would not spend anything to acquire the buildings that his merchant group headquarters and subsidiary businesses needed and in exchange, he would cover the costs for the village guards that he would personally go and recruit soon and in doing so, he would not have to pay any taxes to Fog Village. Not just that, but both elders realized that Timothy had enough prospects after seeing some of his affiliations and also gave him the ability to purchase the village in name, but he would have to be wealthy enough to give all of the citizens jobs.

This was not the best setup that he could have wished for, but it did come with enough perks that would help him not just in the present but also in the future. The reason Timothy was willing to go about it in this way was because getting a verification for a village took not just the materials and manpower to create one, but it also cost quite a large sum which would go directly to the royal family. Therefore, since he would be saving quite a bit in the future due to Fog Village already being recognized, this was all worth it to him.

Every city that existed within every human kingdom, for the most part started as either villages or townships depending on the area if one were to not count the city which a strong enough force was able to build which would be referred to as the royal family of said kingdom. Technically speaking, it was not very difficult to make small kingdoms as long as there was enough space and that said area of the world met certain requirements.

But when villages were ready to expand to being referred to as cities, for the most part there were no taxes associated with this since if a village met said requirements within their kingdom, the royal family would feel that their overall influence would be expanded due to the growth which was more than enough for them until the city was finally finished, then there would be several types of yearly fees.

None of this mattered in the present to Timothy, but since the future looked much brighter, he felt rather good as he finally made his leave as the guard who escorted him in, went to allow the rest of the group into the village. To Timothy's surprise, the negotiations went very well and he was at least for now, did not need to take up the position as the governor of Fog Village. Eventually when he would purchase Fog Village outright, he would take the title, but for now all he wanted to do was properly build a real headquarters for the Golden Finger Merchant Group.

Several minutes later after he chose the space which was located in the eastern part of Fog Village to build everything, the remainder of the group finally made their way over all with smiles on their faces. "Timothy, almost all of us have decided to join the village guard temporarily until things calm down a bit in the village. When you hire other experts, we will split up into smaller groups to take turns since some of us do want to run the businesses immediately." Cole told Timothy while holding up both of his fists in excitement.

"I see, that works for me as long as it works for all of you. The two elders told me that starting tomorrow he will be sending quite a few villagers over in order to assist us with building everything properly. I plan on heading out when the buildings are finally built in order to meet with a good friend of mine that I met back in Bark Kingdom." Timothy told the group before continuing.

"The good friend I am referring to actually is a direct descendant of a mercenary group who we are affiliated with. My plan will be to start a contract with them to fulfill in exchange for either a lump sum of gold pieces, or a mixture of different things. However, what matters now is that I work hard on writing out all of the techniques and training methods that I have into scrolls, so that you could all pick and choose in order to increase your strengths. If you fall too far behind the others, it will make our merchant company look much weaker."

"So unfortunately, that means that I will have to leave you all to handle the building phase of these buildings. Do not worry, I plan on pulling my weight as the owner of the merchant group, so please do not be too rough on me because there are far too many techniques and training methods to write out scroll by scroll. Just think of this being your first small task that as your employer, I am giving all of you." Timothy told the group with an anxious look on his face.

"If you are really capable of writing out so many techniques and training methods, there is no reason that we should care that we need to in the meantime do some physical labor for you. Plus, from the sound of it, all of us will be able to grow our cultivation strengths much faster which means more to us than anything else right now. Especially those of us that are only at the Elementary stage of our cultivation." Cole replied for the group. It was clear that Cole was indeed the leader of the group under Timothy and that everyone trusted him with the position.

"Very well, then starting tomorrow morning we will begin everything accordingly. The elders told me that there is a small space within the village hall that could fit all of us if we wanted to sleep indoors. I would, but I do not like cramped spaces so I will be sleeping out here." Timothy told the group as he withdrew his own bed. About half of the group chose to remain outside with him while the rest went into the village hall.
