Chapter 113

After heading further into the small world, Timothy and his group came across a total of four different soul beasts who each were guarding a low tier artifact. However, these soul beasts were only on par with Intermediate stage human cultivators, so Tyler's uncle disposed of them without even needing to use any techniques.

From what he saw, it looked like Tyler's uncle was well versed in using a spear as a weapon. Not just that, but with only using a small sliver of his battle qi, he was able to completely dominate each of the soul beasts and beheaded them with only a single stroke of his weapon. Timothy was only able to see a total of four swings of the spear, but just by witnessing them, a strange phenomenon occurred within him.

Up until this point, Timothy had seen Master stage cultivators, but none of them used battle qi in their attacks. However, now that he saw how Tyler's uncle was properly utilizing his battle qi to unleash strong but efficient attacks, Timothy began to subconsciously fix some of the bottlenecks that he himself faced when it came to using his battle qi in combat. He would not notice until he was in combat himself, but just by spectating, Timothy was growing at a rapid rate!

Due to the artifacts being low tier ones, Tyler reassured Timothy that he could just take all four of them for himself since Tyler and his uncle had no use for them. This caused Timothy to feel rather weary at first, but he realized that since they hailed from the strongest power within an entire city, it would be strange for them not to have countless low tier artifacts at their disposal whenever they needed them. Besides, after calculating, Timothy would only be able to earn roughly twelve thousand gold pieces from selling the artifacts and their copies which was still much less considering the gift of twenty thousand gold pieces he handed over earlier.

"Tyler, we will be taking a thirty minute rest so that I can scout out this area a little better. According to my calculations, when we begin heading further into the center, we will be faced with all of the other groups of experts. I need to make sure that I understand this terrain so that I could properly direct you both in an escape route if one is needed. With an immortal's inheritance on the line, there will be no shortages of battles moving forward."

"I am confident that I could protect you both if we are not cornered by too many enemies at once, but if we were to assume that human blood will be shed on the basis of cultivators wanting to receive a shortcut to immortality, we must plan ahead. There are over eighty groups of cultivators and each one would cause us a bit of trouble since those who arrived were smart enough to merge into already established groups."

"Therefore, I will be heading over myself because my guess, is that after traveling for ten more minutes in that direction, I will come across a battlefield whether it will be the groups of experts fighting it out, or groups of experts trying to take out stronger soul beasts. So both of you make sure to rest properly, so that when I get back we could move out once more!" after giving his orders to Timothy and Tyler, Tyler's uncle began heading further into the center of the small world himself as the two stood waiting while on guard.

Since soul beasts were tasked with protecting certain treasures or items, there was no way that they would go on the offensive and launch an attack onto Timothy and Tyler. However, there were not just soul beasts in this small world with them. And so the two did not relax their guard, but continued some small talk with each other as they waited for Tyler's uncle to return with news whether it be good or bad news.

About an hour later, Tyler's uncle returned, and he did not look like he was in very good shape. "Tyler, Timothy, it is worse than I would have thought. There are twenty seven different human groups up ahead and they are all fighting against one another. Since I arrived, no one cared that I was a Master stage cultivator as they even began to attack me in smaller groups of experts."

"From what I saw, there is a strange glowing artifact that is being guarded by a soul beast that could defeat an Advance stage cultivator. Since the artifact is glowing, it is a good estimation that it is what caused the humans in the area to battle among themselves. However, there were no other Master stage cultivators in the area, so it seems that it only affects those under the Master stage of cultivation."

"I realize that it would not be too smart of an idea to head over now while there are still many who are being controlled by the artifact, but if we delay until they all kill each other, it could also make the situation much worse since this is turning into a race of sorts in order for one of you to receive the inheritance."

After he finished his report, Tyler's uncle sat down briefly in order to recirculate the battle qi in his body. Timothy noticed that he must have been placed in a very dire situation and needed to give it his all just to escape the area with his life. As he continued revitalizing himself, Tyler's uncle looked over to hear what Tyler thought of the report.

"It would be a good idea for us to kill that soul beast who is protecting that artifact. Since you claim that the human experts are currently being controlled and killing each other, if we were to rescue them in their time of need, it may be very good for us. We came into this Ancestor's Tomb with only a group of three, but I would be willing to make a bet that we could take all of the independent experts from those groups for ourselves which will in turn allow us to repel that young master from the Winged Spiders clan."
