Suddenly before Timothy could even react, Tyler was back to normal as he apologized to Timothy. "If I had to make an assumption, the artifact only affects those whose souls are not very strong. Since that is the case, I really should keep my distance, but Timothy since you were not controlled by the artifact, you should still move forward with my uncle to help assist him properly!" Tyler told the two as he backed up several yards with his sword still out in case he needed to protect himself from others.
And so, both Timothy and Tyler's uncle made their way further and further into the area while trying to avoid the notice of the soul beast and the humans who were still being controlled. Luckily, it seemed that the human experts did not withdraw any weapons upon approaching this area, so the risk of them killing each other was very minimal, unless one of them had an extremely weak physique, which did not look to be the case.
As the two approached the right side of the soul beast, it finally noticed their presence as it screeched and poured more of its energy into the artifact, in an attempt to halt the two's actions. Fortunately, Tyler's uncle was close enough to launch an attack of his own as he closed the distance between him and the soul beast before blood from his finger poured out. As the blood dripped from his finger, it slowly merged itself into a whip like blood weapon. A smile arose from his mouth as he gently created a motion with his arm, causing the whip to land on the soul beast's head, splattering it in a single strike!
Timothy was unsure how the technique really worked, but he could at least figure out that the blood from the uncle's finger merged into a long and firm whip. This only surprised Timothy, because he only heard about the Blood Ridge clan's techniques, never actually seeing any of them up close and personal as he was now. As quickly as the soul beast was slain, the other human experts in the area finally took many long and deep breaths.
Without wasting any time, Tyler quickly made his rounds by introducing himself to the now tired human experts in the area who were both still moving and just recovering, to those with severe wounds. After giving those with the more severe wounds small elixirs in order to preserve their lives, Tyler began making several negotiations with the human experts who had the better of backgrounds. It was not strange for Tyler to have done all of this, because he actually had many life preserving treasures on him, so handing over a few elixirs did not cost him as much as it would someone else offering.
There were now a total of thirty seven human experts present who were now deciding among themselves who wanted and did not want to join Tyler moving forward. For the time being, they all accepted Tyler's invitation to join him once they were out of the Ancestor's Tomb, but they all still coveted the ancestor's inheritance just as much, if not more than Tyler did. As for Timothy, he quickly spoke to the four human experts who were only of the Intermediate stage of cultivation, but all had a commoner background.
After firm negotiations, Timothy was able to hire all four of the human experts that he set his eyes on for only three thousand gold pieces. Timothy felt that if he was not careful moving forward, that losing his life in this small world would not be abnormal. The reason was because it was now clear to him that he was only in the outer layer of the small world, which of course meant that it was the safest, even though it did not seem that way.
He did not want to approach the Advance stage cultivator who had a commoner background, because he did not want to have to rely on his new employees too much. The only reason he chose to hire the four, was because there was no telling who or what his group would run into as they continued towards the inner layer of the small world. He did not feel the need to risk his life for something like an inheritance he did not necessarily need, but it would still be good for him to continue moving forward just in case there were treasures to gain.
After one hour had passed, everyone within the area was now able to recover at least eighty percent of their peak strength. Out of the remaining thirty three human experts, only nine were willing to directly join Tyler while the rest wanted nothing more than to make their way out of the small world and just count themselves unlucky for the trip. It could not be helped, they were brainwashed into almost killing all of those they traveled here with and were still recovering from the mental toll it took on them.
There may have been thirty seven survivors of the soul beast and the artifact it used to control them. Unfortunately, the total number of human experts who were now dead due to the scene was close to one hundred and fifteen. Several of those who were alive, lost all of or at least most of those they came here with, and it would have shaken anyone who was not fully prepared for it.
Out of respect for those who had passed away, all of the items that the dead cultivators had on them, were distributed to those who traveled with them. These items would be given to those who were waiting their return whether their family or clan, so that at least those who were alive would be properly taken care of. No one had a single complaint about this, but this was also why many chose to leave immediately so that they could safely deliver these things.
