Chapter 116

Tyler's face was now brightened because their group went from only three experts, to a total of sixteen! They would still technically be outnumbered by those of the Winged Spider clan, but because it was not by very much, this could be considered their true safety net. There was indeed strength in numbers, and since they were no longer so outmatched, it was possible for the group to move forward with much fewer issues. This was cause for celebration, but instead of continuing to rest, Tyler simply had the group follow along with him and his uncle.

Continuing onwards, Timothy was told by Tyler, that it would be better for the two groups to separate slightly, just in case there were any traps that were laid down. According to the information that they were able to gather from their new group members, it seemed that there existed a total of seven groups who all specialized in assassination. This was more than enough for Tyler's uncle to make the suggestion of there being two groups heading forward.

The reason was mainly due to the total amount of strength just a single group of assassins had. In a battle, there were many aspects that needed to be taken into account considering who would emerge victorious. However, when it came to roaming the world, assassins for the most part would hold the upper hand, even to the point where one could say if the situation was perfect, a lower stage assassin could kill an expert of a higher cultivation stage.

This was mostly only taking into account a one on one battle between experts. Since they were now potentially forced to face an entire group of assassins, it would not be too difficult for their total group members to be cut in half just from the first strike on each side. Due to this, they decided to split the group into two, so if one group spotted an assassin group making their way to land a sneak attack, the other could quickly notify said group. A tactic like this was unfortunately the best that they could do at this time.

Becoming an assassin and joining an organization did not take too high a level of skill, but every assassin specialized organization had very specific rules in place, including any new members who did not pass a minimum set of requirements would be unable to leave the headquarters. With this rule as a universal law of sorts, there were very few experts who were willing to become assassins other than those who were perfect for the specialty, or those who had nothing else to lose or live for.

Therefore, if a group of assassins existed in the outside world, one could only assume that they had reached a high enough level of skill and strength. If this was not the case, the group would have not needed to split up in this way, but it was always the unexpected which would be the end of an expert. Still, separating like this, gave Timothy the ability to talk a little more with his four new employees.

"It would be a real shame if we were to die here, are you sure that you have many suitable techniques for the four of us?" the bald man of the group with large muscles asked Timothy with a grin on his face. The bald man was named Jerome and he was clearly a Body Refinement cultivator. What was interesting to Timothy concerning him, was that Jerome's body was very tan, as if Jerome had lived under the sun his entire life without reaching any shade.

"Oh please, even if he was just joking around with us, for him to pull out such a sum of wealth without even batting an eye would be enough to follow him. Hey boss, just do us all a favor and do not die right away. I would hate to return to our headquarters with all of the other wealth you are carrying on you!" a young adult male shouted with a hint of red on his cheeks.

This young adult's name was Adam, and he seemed the most overbearing within the group of four. From what he had told Timothy before officially signing under his employment, Adam was from a very poor township and was only able to reach the Intermediate level three stage as an Energy Refinement expert because he worked hard enough and was given a small crest by the leader of the township that was passed down for many generations.

He was unable to ask Master Sei what the item might have actually been, but Timothy was not very excited since Adam specialized in the fire element which was most likely what the item assisted him with. Timothy still did not feel like he was at a loss, because he also had Grant and Jamie in the group who were dual cultivators like himself but have long surpassed him in cultivation level.

This did not upset Timothy, because both Grant and Jamie were over thirty years old, which meant that their results from training were below average. Timothy was not even thirteen years old, but he was roughly only four cultivation levels away from catching up to the two."If I die on this trip, I will bring you all along with me to the underworld out of spite if I find out none of you were willing to lend a hand!" Timothy shouted back at Adam with a smile on his face.

Unlike Cole and the other employees he hired back in Tornado City, Timothy felt that he had a much better connection with these four. They were not only from a similar background, but they seemed less tense and more free. Timothy understood that Cole having a more manager type background was meant to be very keen and uptight when needed, but he still wished that Cole would also relax on occasion. Still, Cole was a new and needed pillar of the Golden Finger Merchant Group, so Timothy could not complain or ask him to change.
