Trio's Improvements

In a cave lit up by the glow of the spirits that surrounded him, Roy was sweating profusely as he once again thrust his spear forward.

*Hup!*

*Fwoosh*

[Enough Experience has been accrued]

[Spear Arts Level up 4->5]

'Whew, finally! I'm glad I decided to pick up [Spear Arts] after I maxed out [Hatchet Arts] and unlocked the [Hatchetman] job. To be honest, at this point it just feels like I'm collecting jobs. I really need to choose one that can level up without killing next, so that I don't have lull periods like this.' Roy was now resting after another intense training session.

Over the past week, he had been on a straight skill grind. Maxing [Hatchet Arts] was the first thing he did, simultaneously training his Mana Heart. After that, he decided to practice Koboldese and teach English with Terren, while at the same time still processing mana.

At some point his constant absorption and processing of mana, had leveled his [Mana Manipulation] to level four. This made Roy extremely happy, as he was now having a far easier time with the process.

Getting bored teaching and learning Koboldese, Roy decided to stop at ninety percent, there wasn't much left for Terren to teach him anyways, so he began learning [Spear Arts]. As he was practicing with his spear, Roy also practiced his [Pierce] skill, managing to grind its level all the way to six in the process!

'Four more levels until I max out [Keratin Control], I should also be able to reach around near the maximum experience for my species rank after the goblin village! Not only me, but Solus and Terren as well as Inbellis, who is already on the cusp of his current evolution.' Thinking of Inbellis, Roy got a worried expression though.

'The issue is he won't be able to evolve again after this evolution, since he probably won't be smart enough to form his own Mana Heart.' As Roy thought of this, he became slightly depressed. He didn't want his pet to continue falling behind, but he also had no way of helping him form his Mana Heart.

'System, is there anything I can do to assist Inbellis with his Mana Heart after he evolves?'

Pets

When a pet reaches a rank in which it needs to/ can form a Mana Heart, the tamer can use the bond as a connection to send mana. This mana can be used to support it's developing Mana Heart.

Tamer can not build their pet's Mana Heart. The pet must begin the process on their own.

'Damn, well maybe it can gain a skill that will unlock a job to increase its intelligence. That is the most I can think of right now.' Roy was pulled out of his thoughts after hearing a grunt, followed by a dull bang behind him.

"Solus! What is happening?! Did you complete your Mana Heart?" Roy looked at his sister with worry evident in his eyes.

"Urgh! YES!" She screamed out, finally understanding why Roy was writhing on the ground during his law descent.

'What pretty colors...' Solus temporarily forgot her pain as she looked up to the descending lights that were wrapping around her.

That temporary distraction didn't last long though, as the pain resurfaced in her mind once again. The two lights that were so beautiful to her, continued blasting down on her body, forcefully entering her Mana Heart.

The yellow light was constantly in a battle of dominance with the purple light. It was almost as if they were arch enemies that would never find equilibrium.

After a long battle, the two colors finally began to calm, the Mana Heart had finished its absorption, and the pattern of the heart was set. As if the colors still hadn't accepted defeat, they pierced into each other like spikes, all over her Mana Heart.

'Status...' Solus forced out of her lips, as she looked towards the menu that appeared before her.

'I'll need to ask Roy to... check... them... lat-' Before she could even finish her train of thought, the exhaustion in her body finally took its toll and she passed out.

"Good job, sis." Roy sweetly spoke, as he carried his sister over to the makeshift bed he had made out of keratin and hide.

"Rest well, you deserve it." Roy softly pat her head, and covered her up before he turned around and walked away to let her rest in peace.

Terren, who watched the process twice now, didn't know what to feel. On one hand she wanted to gain strength more than anything right now, on the other, that looked extremely painful.

'Well, it's not like I have a choice. Even if I don't do it, my body will create it on its own eventually. Not to mention I couldn't tag along with Roy and Solus if I can't even do this much.

Clenching her fists, Terren got back to work. She was currently practicing the words that Roy had told her earlier, so that she could ingrain it in her memory.

She wasn't as smart or talented as Solus, so it took her a bit longer to learn things, but that was just comparing her to Solus.

Terren had made incredible progress over the last week, constantly sparring with Roy. Working herself to the point of exhaustion daily, she had managed to increase her strength leaps and bounds. Her [Gauntlet Arts] had leveled up to five, while her [Scratch] skill had leveled up to six. Unlike Roy, who could cast his [Pierce] skill multiple times, thanks to his higher mana reserves, Terren had to wait to cast hers after every use.

'I finally have enough mana to fully cast the skill, but I can only use it once before I exhaust myself. Should I start practicing manipulating mana now? I can't form a core with the little I have, but getting the prerequisite might be a good idea...' As Terren pondered, she decided that that was the best course of action.

She was happy with [Scratch] being at level seven for now, so she didn't need to spend her mana on it for a little while.

Sitting down on a chair that Roy had made, Terren began to run the [Scratch] skill to try and get a feel for the flow of mana, just like Roy instructed.

'This is a lot harder than he made it seem... I mean, he did get the skill in like a day, so I shouldn't be surprised. Roy really does have a monstrous talent, even if he does relate it all to his [Aptitude] skill, there is only so much a skill can do. I hope he realizes that in the future. He has a bad habit of self deprecating when he doesn't need to. Though I guess he also boasts heavily after making something...' Thinking about Roy, Terren chuckled a bit, before putting her full attention back on her [Mana Manipulation] practice.
