Training Interrupted

As time passed, Roy and the others continued to solidify their strength. Terren, getting used to her new core, Nocturna and Solus working towards tier two, and Roy, as he was slowly increasing his agility while attempting to train Inbellis.

'Still no luck, huh?' Roy asked himself, as he looked at Inbellis with a patient expression.

'It will happen eventually, it's not like I'm in a rush anyways...' Roy sat Inbellis in a small barrel full of plant matter, as he went out to continue his training.

Strapping on his weights, that he had fashioned out of metallic rocks, and leather, Roy took off for his routine jog.

'It's still steadily increasing, but I have quite a while to go. I did max out [Keratin Control] though, so that means I'm one step closer.' As Roy continued running, he manipulated his mana.

Soon a heavy weight pressed down on him, as he artificially increased his gravity.

"Ugh!" Roy grunted at the increased pressure, as he slowed himself. 'Running like this is horrible, but it really helps increasing my stats and [Mana Manipulation]!'

Roy had come up with this method a week ago, getting frustrated at the lack of effects from carrying around the light rocks.

'My strength is too high, just the metallic rocks alone won't cut it... I wonder what Hell's General would think, seeing me train like this?' Roy reminisced, as he continued his hellish run.

...

After a while, Roy began getting mentally and physically tired, so he decided to stop there for the day.

'[Mana Manipulation] has almost hit max level now!' Roy excitedly checked his stats, as he dipped his body into the bath on the second floor.

"Ah... What a great idea..." Roy tilted his head back, enjoying the bath as he closed his eyes.

A small head peaked around the corner of the second floor. A small fairy was mischievously looking at the sleeping orc. Another head popped out immediately after, a silly looking kobold with a wide smile.

"Take the charcoal and give him a big mustache!" Solus excitedly whispered, as she pushed Nocturna forward.

Nocturna stumbled for a bit, before flapping her wings and getting some air. She quietly approached Roy, as she gripped the charcoal with both of her little hands.

Her smile widened as she floated over Roy, and slowly brought the charcoal down.

...

Nocturna, floating back over to Solus, began to snicker. Both of them looked at Roy's face, enjoying Nocturna's artwork.

"Good job! Let's get back downstairs before he wakes up!" Solus whispered, as she held back her laughter.

Getting back downstairs, the two went back to training after enjoying their short prank break.

Solus, who was training her Mana Heart until now, began to practice her [Scratch] skill, as well as her [Mana Manipulation] She wanted to figure out a way to combine the two, like how Roy had told her about before.

"It's so hard to do! Maybe I should try something else? But his idea sounded so cooool!" Solus groaned as she slumped down on the ground.

Terren, who was still training her skills and working on her new Mana Heart, currently was sitting on the ground as she drew in mana from her surroundings.

'Condensing is really slow, I can't wait to use the extra Mana Hearts. Hopefully I can catch up to to the others soon...' Terren, fully focused on catching up, pushed herself to her breaking point as she continued training.

'Still... how am I going to use these affinities?'

'The Law of Fear weakens enemies morale and power, and boosts my strength the more they fear me. The Law of Hatred makes me stronger the more I hate, but at the same time makes me lose rationality. Roy said I should definitely train the laws I have affinities for, so I need to figure out how I'll manage the berserk state when I start training them...' Terren continued training as she worked out her future powers, not wanting to cause issues for the party if she goes fully berserk.

"Hmm... Explain. Why stop here, I see nothing around us that seems suspicious?" Ampharn looked curiously at the hunter, who walked up to him in order to explain.

"Sir!" The hunter saluted, before beginning.

"The trail ends here, there are no more tracks or broken branches, I think that they might have stopped here and are hiding out!" Finishing his report, the hunter backed up, allowing Ampharn to take the lead and look around the area.

Taking in the fresh breeze of the cliff side, Ampharn looked around. He couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, just a cliff with a large tree near the edge, its roots hanging off.

"I don't see anything at first glance... scan the area!" Ampharn yelled out an order, as the squad spread out to search.

...

"Nothing here, sir!" The goblins screamed out one by one, as they fanned the area.

"Damn!" The hunter whisper-yelled, as all the goblins gave their reports. He kicked a rock into the giant tree out of frustration.

*Tap*

The rock, hitting the tree made an impact that peaked the interest of the hunter goblin.

Wide eyed, he quickly turned around and ran towards Ampharn.

"Sir, sir! The Tree! I think the tree is hollow!"

Ampharn's head turned like lightning, as he stared at the giant, ancient tree.

"Take it down."

"Sir, yes sir!" The goblins screamed out, as the ran up to the trunk, brandishing their weapons.

*Bang*

*Boom*

*Slice*

A flurry of attacks assaulted the tree, as its inhabitants became alert.
