Morning so peaceful

*Back at the camp*

Everything has been peaceful. I feel like ever since Libertad announced their presence, the government has been very quiet. Probably trying to hide what they have done.

Well, let's focus on the good things. I am honestly delighted that my sister and I are on good terms. This time, I am not the one who made the initiative this time, it was her. She is changing.

I looked in the mirror. A big smile plastered on my face. The sparkle in my eye shone bright like a firefly in complete darkness. My smile got even bigger when I looked into my own eyes. For the first time in many years, I felt light. I felt content. I felt a sense of independence that I had never felt before.

The air around me felt like a warm big hug. The lights seemed to be smiling at me. My skin under the water felt like a silky shirt made of clouds. When I closed my eyes, everything seemed bright. The darkness was very bright, unlike the days when the darkness felt darker than the night.

I quickly changed into a new set of clothes and jogged outside. I saw a familiar figure walking towards the breakfast hall, it was Aiden. I called after him, but he didn't hear me. I ran up to him and smiled. He looked very sleepy. His eyes were drowsy. His hair was very messy.

" Damn Charles, why you so cheerful this early in the morning ?"

" The real question is, why are you so tired and grumpy?" Aiden pouted at me. He looked like he was going to fall asleep any moment. We both got a berry blast smoothie bowl. It was made of strawberries, cherries, mangoes, and raspberries. Not gonna lie, it looks pretty delicious. With granola and everything, it's a vibe.

We both were just eating quietly. None of us seemed to have the energy to say anything. We both just sat in silence and ate. Suddenly, Stella joined in. I looked at her plate and it was filled with food. There was bacon, avocado, toasts, mango slices, and a big glass of some kind of juice.

Now that everything was good between us, I smiled at her and she just sneered at me. In an instant, I got up and left. My body just refused to deal with her energy. One moment, she's being all sisterly and the next a bitch. Like, get your script god damn right!

I sat near the balcony view to look outside. It was crazy here. Every single inch of this area is covered with greenery. The trees here are bright like the sun rays but dark like the shadows. The whole forest seems happy and calm. I just looked out and smiled back at it. It feels like home when I look at them. It's almost like they remind me every day they have my back. That no matter what, they will protect me.
