Questioned

Chen Waan looked at the entrance and when she did not see Mo Yifan entering, she got puzzled. She did not hide her confusion and looked at the audience.

"Did I forget something? Sorry guys, it's my first time hosting. Why don't you guys help me out?" she said in a jocular way. The audience loved her humor, although she was a completely unknown entity to them. They cheered for her and someone in the back reminded her about the sponsors.

"Oh~~ You guys are experts. I should find the cue card for the announcement then, I apologize," she bent down and picked up the cue cards one by one. The fans laughed at her comedic ways.

"I guess they are useful, haha," she spoke, acting as if she was embarrassed. The people behind the stage heaved a sigh of relief. At least she was witty enough to handle the situation like this. In the due time, she did find the card with announcement details.

With cheering of the crowd, she finished mentioning the names of the sponsors and the fan meeting really started.

"I have a jar here, full of questions, not only from fans present here but from across the world. We will take up as many as time permits. Rest of them will be answered personally. Do not forget to write a letter to Mo Yifan in your personalized stationery that was provided," the girl, who was radiating as she was enjoying herself chirped.

"First question is… oooh, please reveal spoilers about your upcoming acting gig," she read in Japanese and then translated it in English for not only him but his international fans. Since he was okay replying in English, he did answer her that way.

"I am sorry, cannot say much. The script is ready though and I should be getting it soon," he replied.

"Okay, next question then. When are you going to tease your new song?" Now Chen Waan did hear from Miyu that he was releasing his new album in two months, she did not know if this was known by his fans or not. She could not spoil it herself, so she just looked at the idol for the reply.

"I will be making a comeback soon. Definitely this year. As for teaser…," he looked at the fans who were eagerly listening and then sang an excerpt from his song he was developing.

'When I look at you,

I get so much inspiration.

Like I could pluck the stars

From the sky.

When I look at you,

The world is filled with encouragement.

Like no force in the world

Could stop me.'

The melodious song, without any accompanying music swept people off their feet. No one paid attention but No Yifan glanced at Chen Waan multiple times when singing this song. The girl, who had donned a coral blazer on white colored turtleneck and a matching pair of pants, looked relaxed and delightful listening to his song with closed eyes. She could really thrive in this field, you know.

But Chen Waan was oblivious to the attention she was receiving because she was too busy relishing the song. His powerful vocals with such stability and soul, this guy was worthy of his fame indeed. And this was a slow song rather than his usual style of hip-hop. Damn, this guy could really kill.

"This is something that's still in works. But it will be included in my next album," Mo Yifan replied smilingly.

"Oh, so you mean to say that you are coming with a full album then? And this will not be a title track?" Chen Waan caught him in his own words. The audience looked at the idol for answers. This host was really good for her first time.

"You got me, haha. The answer to your questions is yes and yes," he revealed with a grin and appreciation in his eyes towards the girl sitting in front of him.

After a few more questions, she took out a slip that made her stop in between while reading.

"What happened to the…," she halted and frowned at the question. She looked at Mo Yifan because she was in a pinch. Was she allowed to ask this question or not? The questions did go through a vetting process before ending up in the jar, so it was a legit question, right?

"Why did you stop?" he whispered, shutting his mic off for the time being. And he asked in Chinese so that people could not understand, even if anyone wanted to read the lips.

"It is asking about me. Do you think it is okay? Can you answer this question?" she asked, still a bit unsettled over how this question made it to the jar. Was anyone sabotaging her intentionally?

"Go ahead, I will answer it. Don't worry, you are still safe," he replied. Chen Waan nodded, a bit relieved, of course.

"I apologize. I had to ask our idol if he was comfortable answering the question since it concerns his private life. Since I am new, I just feel it is not right to be asking personal questions like these. But again, I know how everyone is so curious about him," she addressed the audience first. The people were first not happy that they were having a conversation in the middle of the meeting. A few had even started whispering among themselves to voice their dissatisfaction. The people had come not only from Japan, but from different countries. Everyone had a different expectation.

"Alright, so the question is related to the incident that happened last year regarding the impostor that was seen in Europe. What happened to that incident? Could you please shed some light?" Chen Waan asked very normally, as if it did not concern her at all.

Mo Yifan swept a cold glance at the audience before answering the question. These foolish people, always ready to make someone uncomfortable.

"I would say, let bygones be bygones. We are in the new year and it is time for fresh start. Personally, I wanted to apologize to the person who was hounded by reporters because of me. It was not even their fault. But everyone came after them like they had committed some crime," he gave a nod to Chen Waan. They had never resolved that issue either, had they? Chen Waan got this opportunity because of that incident, so Mo Yifan had, very arrogantly, decided that there was no need for apology. But his thoughts were slowly changing. They were actually making progress.
