Tranced

"Chen Waan, your work is done. You can go and enjoy the concert. Where would you like to sit?" Wang Zibo approached the pair when it seemed like Mo Yifan had asked her to stop the massage. After all, she should have been more tired having experienced such hectic schedule for the first time.

The concert was starting in a half an hour as well.

"I-I want to see the stage first," Chen Waan could already hear the cheering from the audience. The chants from the fans were filling herself with a weird but exhilarating feeling. Her heart had raced loudly when she first heard the voices coming all the way in the changing room.

"Oh, sure! You can go as a member of staff and may be check the drums at the back or something?" Wang Zibo asked a few other people to help her out. He actually wanted to see her reaction too. After all, there were only very few times when her eyes sparkled this brightly. So she was interested in the stage after all this time?

Chen Waan almost jumped with excitement. This changing room was full of bright lights and people and all kind of scents and she was almost nauseous. She wanted fresh air too.

However, the staff was getting too curious about the identity of this girl. Obviously, only higher ups like Miyu knew her real purpose here. Others just knew her as a translator. She did not even have a job here apart from translating a few words here and there for a few people. Why was she being given such a good treatment?

Was she another kid of some hotshot like that spoiled brat who had pointed a knife at Mo Yifan? Oh wait, yeah, she was the one who was about to be stabbed by the knife, so was she getting such special treatment because of that? Talk about taking advantage!

Suddenly the people were not looking at her in kind light. She did help Mo Yifan relax a bit but what if she was imposing and their idol gave in because he was good natured?

Chen Waan did not care at all. She had faced enough stares and bullies in her school. It had taken her a lot of time to overcome it, to the point where she did not care about other people anymore.

She had learnt in her life to be selfish and put herself first, no matter what place or what person. It was the only way to survive in the mundane human world, let alone this entertainment field.

The staff ushered her to the stage before final checks, so that if she messed up something, it could be fixed before Mo Yifan went on the stage. She went through a long corridor and finally reached the stairs leading up to the stage.

The stage was obviously, not part of the stadium itself. It had been erected with wooden boards and other stuff. She observed the supports carefully. It was a huge scale operation she very obviously had never seen in her life.

She slowly climbed up the wooden stairs. Wang Zibo was accompanying her, because he was just interested in how she would act once she was actually on stage. He had asked the camera crew to secretly film her for he would show it to Mo Yifan later.

Mo Yifan was practically a shut-in, so it took a lot of time for him to get comfortable with the stage and the crowd. However, this girl was just something else. He had not seen anyone this excited in his entire career.

For Chen Waan, she was just in a trance, like all those voices were calling her to be on the stage. Her body was not following her mind. She had her hands clasped together and her heart was beating so loudly that she was afraid that Wang Zibo, who was walking at her side would hear it.

She noticed that there were cameras everywhere, for recording every move of Mo Yifan. Various crew members were standing with different types of cameras, even behind the stage. Oh, so this was how they made all those behind the scenes videos. It felt too much attention but for some reason, she was loving it.

As soon as she reached the stage, she just stopped and could not take a step further. She had been impressed by the crowd of hundred people at the fan meeting, but this was almost five hundred times of that.

In Japan, it was an honor to perform at Tokyo Dome. Not a lot of idols got this chance. But Mo Yifan was huge enough to draw that much crowd. It's seating capacity itself was some fifty thousand people. And the stadium looked overcrowded to Chen Waan right now. Wherever she looked, people came into her view.

There were huge screens at every corner of the venue. After all, it would not be easy for everyone to see Mo Yifan personally. She swept her eyes over the stage. There was a beautiful set of drums sitting at the back of the stage, blue light showering down from above.

She had always been interested in drumming but due to financial constraints, never had a chance to try them out. Now it felt like they were calling for her. She really wanted to go and play, however she was aware of her skills and the location right now. She could not be reckless right now.

"Chen Waan?" Wang Zibo snapped her out of her daydreaming.

"Y-yes, I am moving," she started walking again, coming out of her stupor. Her smile was not leaving her face. If Wang Zibo were to describe her condition right now, it was as if a dog had found her favorite toy. He giggled at the side.

Chen Waan was still not over the euphoria. It was not even her own concert or debut. Why was she liking this feeling so much? It was like something inside her had just turned and all the cogs had finally fit in their place. Was she really this enthusiastic about a career in this field? She had thought it would be burdensome, it would overwhelm her. But this was just amazing.

"Manager Wang…," she spoke, her eyes blazing with some kind of determination.

"Yes Chen Waan?" Wang Zibo was startled when she called him out of blue.

"I-I want to perform like this," she said, her eyes still fixed at the audience, the ocean full of loud voices and those light sticks. This would prove to be the turning point in her career as an entertainer which was yet to start.
