Ch. 9 ~ Second Day...

Ignore it, Reina. Ignore. The fluffy white pastry that I had yesterday, with sweetened condensed milk that was drizzled on the top melted into the gooey hotness of the bun. So good, I wish I could teleport back to yesterday. Wait a second. Isn't it time travel? Oh, who cares-

"Hello." I saw a hand wave in front of me.

I have to accept defeat. I can't avoid the elephant in the room, or more like the bee in the tub. Looking up, I once again saw the devilish bunny.

"Gokigenyou Saito-san." I politely got up. The farce was over.

"Hello to you too, Hayashi-san," his despicable smile never failed once. What a stiff face. "And Honda-san."

"What were you guys doing?"

"I'm afraid that we can't-"

"Oh, there you are Reina-chan and Hina-chan." I saw Sakura poke her head out from the doorway. She quickly went up to us and cleared her throat, "Gokigenyou Saito-san. What brings you here?"

"Nothing much. Just taking a little stroll."

"During class hours? I didn't realize that Arashi-sensei lets us take strolls." Sakura! I'm so grateful to have a friend like you!

"Don't tell him, please. I wanted a little peace and quiet after all of the noise. They were all too busy with Takashi. I seized the opportunity at hand," he chuckled slyly.

"Well, Saito-san I have business with these two. So, if you don't mind could we have a little privacy."

"Okay. See you guys."

"Sakura-chan we were about to be eaten by a wolf," I thanked her.

"Now what are you two doing?"

I explained to Sakura about the ghosts that turned out to be fake. Hina chimed in about our plan. Then the unfortunate happened. Saito-san appeared. It marked the wishy-washy luck that the gods bestowed upon us. How the treacherous journey wore us down and the monster we were faced with would only trample our efforts. Too tired and weary to fend the beast off. Nononono.

"Hand the papers over." Sakura held out her hand and I measly placed them into her hands; shocked about how I lost my composure.

And with that, the whole play was concluded and Hina and I got get back to our classroom right in time for the next period.

_______________

Have I been slowly morphing into a thing that chatters too much for her own good? Spewing out commoner words with no grace. My mom would have a heart attack if she saw how I was acting. I should be having a heart attack. I should have been shot out of a cannonball into space where I wouldn't have to think about the shame.

This isn't good. I'm a dignified lady and my feathers shall not ruffle so easily. The enemy took me off guard with the act of surprise. Yes, a surprise. That is a dirty tactic to use and I shall not fall for it any further. Maybe my lack of run-ins with those three has had me off my game. I've been too soft, too unprepared, too lazy, and too... lacking.

Lacking. I need to prepare for the war to come. For these imbeciles and that girl. I need to eat as many cup ramens as possible to prepare for the worst. To prepare for the common world. Fufufu...

"Onnichan!" I felt a slight tug on my sleeve.

"Onnichan, you're scaring me."

"What do you mean mochi?"

"You're laughing and smiling at nothing!"

"Ohhhh Aika-chan, I'm smiling at my success and delicious, fattening goodness."
