No Time To Waste On You.

Alex nodded his head without any hesitation. He was most impressed by Lucius out of all the other leaders so his request was more of a boon for him. He had to be respectful, so he bowed down and said,

"Please take me in as your disciple."

Everyone was shocked by this gesture, and the mother of this family, Carla Grey, was happy for her husband. The kid was humble, knew how to give respect, and knew how to be a great judge character. She wasn't an assassin, but she was one of the most feared people on the continent because she was a tech maniac. She was the founder of the largest institution for tech-related education in the world. Many of the people working in the government were Alumni of this institution, and Lucius had made it compulsory for all the assassins to go to train there because it was essential in their family to learn basics about technology, how to use it, and how to counter it.

Alex looked towards her and noticed that she was staring at him even after he noticed her gaze. He started scratching his head, not quite sure about the look she was giving her.

After some time, she had a shocked expression on her face. She came close to him and looked at him again from head to toe.

She then smiled all of a sudden. Alex was seriously creeped out by this behaviour, so he took some steps back. Lucius, who was watching the entire interaction from the side, couldn't control himself and started laughing loudly. Jane and Steven(The son) were also laughing. Only Claudia wasn't, and she sighed. After that, she proceeded to explain,

"Don't mind her. She was just checking your body with her smart lens, to see if there was anything abnormal about you. As it turns out, she did find out something."

Panic. Absolute Panic. He wasn't expecting his body to be checked in this way.

"Don't worry User. I have tampered with the lens to not sho anything too weird. The only thing that she could have noticed, is how healthy your cells are, which isn't that big of a secret."

Breathe in, Breathe out. That almost gave him a heart attack.

She put her hand in front, intending for him to shake it. Alex did so, but the smile on her face was still eerie.

"I'll look forward to your development in the future. There is something special about you that I just can't figure out for now, but nothing remains hidden forever."

His palm started to sweat like crazy. Another Crazy woman, is this the norm of this world or what?

Steven was next. He directly hugged Alex, because he considered him as an elder brother. Her sister had always been hard on him, so a person that can best her was a person that he admired.

"Let's go. We need to tell you what your schedule is going to be, so we should probably get going."

Lucius said. He was happy that most of his family got along with Alex, which could be critical in bringing him to their side, but he was in no hurry. he still had 8 more years to do so.

--------------------------------------------------

Grey Family mansion, Cleveland.

During the entire journey, Steven kept pestering him about his fight with Claudia, while she was around. Her expression continued to sour, while everyone else couldn't help but giggle. He refrained from talking too much about the incident, but the damage had been done. She was glaring at him as if he had sold her kidneys without consent.

When they finally reached the mansion, Alex decided to rest for a bit. He was Jet lagged, but he was more exhausted due to the family itself. He needed to rest.

On the other side, Carla was in the study, along with Lucius. An important discussion was up, and they had to be on the same page to make the best out of his time.

"So we both agree that he will go to the High school, right?"

Lucius sighed, and then said,

"The other families might never make him learn the basics of technology. As much as I want him to train with me exclusively, he needs to gain experience among peers, as well as learn in your institution."

Most Assassins were loners, so making friends wasn't a necessity, but they knew that the future belonged to those who invested themselves in technology. Plus, he was just a kid. He needed all the experience he could get.

"What do you think about his character?"

Carla frowned at that question. She thought that he was a pretty straightforward child, who like to be quiet. But she still had one doubt.

"I can't figure him out. He never showed any hints that pointed towards him having a different side to him, which didn't make sense. His previous report made me believe that he would be a person with many sides to him, but today, I couldn't sense anything peculiar, except for the fact that he was eerily confident. Nothing fazed him, which could make it a bit problematic when it comes to handling his behaviour in the future. We need to get his real self out, to be safe in the future."

Lucius chuckled. His wife was too tightly wound up, mainly because she couldn't stand being kept out of the loop. He responded with,

"Leave that to me. We have 4 months with him. I will get his true nature out in no time, then we can try to slowly make him open up to us using that information."

They couldn't have guessed in a million years about the difficulty of this task.

------------------------------------------------

The next day,

Alex was wearing a uniform. Yes, a uniform. Lucius had decided that he would start from today itself, and he had been given no time to prepare. He wanted to curse them, but he could only do so in his mind. This was probably another test, so he decided it would be better to just accept what is happening, and move on.

He was supposed to go to the institution named The Grey Institute of Technology, which was a bit narcissistic in his opinion. There were both normal students, as well as Grey family assassins studying there, and they had blended them in so perfectly, that assassins could be hidden in plain sight, but you wouldn't be able to notice them until they stabbed you at point-blank range. He was already on his toes after the sudden decision made by Lucius, but then, another factor had been added to the mix.

'Why do I need to go with her?'

Lucius had made sure to annoy Alex as much as possible. He needed to see what his wrath looked like, and what better way to make him angry than make an immature person who holds a grudge against him be his guide. Claudia wasn't usually this immature, but because Alex was the single chink in her near-perfect armour, she was the best choice to rattle him.

They both sat in the car, not even looking at each other. Claudia, because she was pissed off, Alex, because he didn't want to make her even angrier. Sometimes, the best way to go is to go quiet.

And after an hour's ride, they were there. The building was huge, and many students were going in and out of the building, minding their own business.

Alex stepped outside of the car, after Claudia. He wanted to stay as far away from her as possible, hoping that she would take a hint and leave him alone, but she waited for him outside the car. If looks could kill, he would have died back in the Kramer mansion.

"Who is the princess waiting for?"

A crowd had formed, observing the behaviour of the school princess and the daughter of the founder, Claudia Grey. She had many admirers, so seeing that she was waiting for someone alarmed some people. When Alex finally gave up and got out of the car, they sighed with relief. It was just a kid. Just a rich brat who had used his connections to get in, no big deal.

As soon as they were to disperse, however, Claudia used her intellect to think of a plan to get back at Alex. She immediately took his hand, pretending to be close to him with a smile on her face.

'I should have accepted that heir position. This is not worth a single second of my life.'

Internally, he was thinking of ways to kill Claudia, without the Grey family noticing. Outside, he took this chance to show her that even if he was reliant on her family currently, he was not going to be pushed around.

He raised his hand and slapped her straight on her face. Claudia, who hadn't even regained her senses yet, heard a voice that was so chilling, she felt the threat of death for the first time in her life.

"Don't you dare come close to me in the future. I can show myself around, and I don't have time to waste on you."

The onlookers were stunned. This wasn't how the script was supposed to go!
