A-Class, Part 2.

"Doesn't seem like I have any option."

He loosened his tie.

"You have a choice. Abandon the mission, or fight me."

Alex pointed his gun towards him.

Johann took raised his shirt to reveal a holster. He placed his hand on it, and looked at the kid.

'A quick draw won't work.'

Alex had his finger on the trigger, and his hand was eerily steady. The barrel was aimed at his head. The element of surprise won't do much against that.

'Not worth the risk.'

He pulled the strap on the holster, and took out his handgun.

"Rules?"

The problem with this situation was that he couldn't contact Yuya anymore. If the kid was going to gamble with their lives, there was a solid chance that their target didn't have the info on the money. Taking her out wouldn't be a problem.

"On the count of 3, begin. Give this your best shot, and hold nothing back."

Basically, no rules.

"Don't you think that is a bit unfair to you?"

Johann raised his gun towards his head.

"Don't worry. From where I am standing, you are the one that needs luck."

An arrogant smile. The A-Class assassin sighed at his cocky attitude.

"I'll make sure that you won't live to regret those words. Begin the count."

A showdown. Alex opened his mouth and said,

"One."

Johann pulled the slide back as fast as he could, and released it.

"Two."

Their bodies tensed up. Both of them were anticipating each others next move.

"Three."

Expecting Alex to shoot, Johann jumped sideways to avoid the attack. Mid-air, his sight had locked to the target, and he pressed the trigger without any hesitation.

The bullet had been aimed at the hand, as it was supposed to be in recoil after the shot. Alex didn't shoot prematurely, and moved his hand to dodge the shot.

A sideways roll to the ground, and Johann was on his knees. Another shot.

"Bang!"

This shot was supposed to hit at his head, but Alex had already moved from his position in time. The bullet tore through the windshield of a SUV, leaving a hole in the glass. A barrage of bullets followed, and Alex kept moving to avoid all of them in the nick of time while firing some of his own.

Johann was as accurate as one could get, but Alex was predicting his targeted spots to absolute perfection. Realizing that being in the open won't benefit him due to the predictability, he decided to change his position and take cover.

"Miss Bell."

The 53 year old man of Indian descent stood up from his chair, and greeted the last guest. She was in tow with two security members, visibly pale and shaking for some reason.

"Mister Rao. It is so nice to see you again."

The other attendees started to discern her with their eyes. She was dressed in a simple blue colored gown, and her face was as alluring as ever. The female crowd was jealous, while the male crowd was somewhat enamored.

"Please, have a seat."

The man with the surname Rao was being polite. The response to his politeness however, was a less than subtle remark.

"You put up an incredible act for someone so two-faced."

Rao raised an eyebrow.

"Excuse me?"

She took out a gun, and pointed it towards him.

"Tell me. Do you really think I am like them?"

Her eyes wandered at the other people present in the room.

"Split deal with the mafia. 30 percent cut from the money and a partnership that would last through generations. Does that ring a bell?"

The other attendees started to stare at him. One of them said,

"Rao. Is this true?"

He remained silent, and poured himself a glass of 25 year old Bunnahabhain Whiskey.

"Answer them."

She pulled the slide.

After casually gulping down the entire glass, he placed the glass back on the table, and said.

"Do you have the money?"

She smirked.

"No."

He sighed, and raised his hand to press the button on his earpiece.

"Then I have no further need-"

"Yuya Berger. Your master is against 10 of my retainers."

She made the proclamation.

"For you."

Rao finished his sentence. He had won.

"If you kill me, he dies. If you want to save him, you don't have much time."

'Any second now.'

Assassins under the mafia are mere tools. They couldn't care less for anything other than the mission. He had been promised that by the leader of Strauss Family himself.

"Make your choice."

After saying that, she closed her mouth. Rao was confused.

"Take the shot!"

He screamed into the earpiece.

No response.

"KILL THEM!"

Another scream.

'Bang!'

A headshot. The old man plopped onto the table.

"Quiet"

She turned her eyes towards the rest of the guests.

"If you want the money, get me a good plan."

She pointed the gun towards Rao's nephew and fired.

"You all will get a call sharp at 2 pm tomorrow. I want a concrete answer by then."

The security guards behind her started to choke on their saliva. They collapsed to the ground, grasping for air. She had poisoned them when they attempted to apprehend her, and promised them that she would give them the antidote if they followed her commands.

She turned around, stepped over their bodies, and left the room. Her job here was done.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Johann was two magazines down. Behind the cover at the side of a Porsche Taycan, he dropped the empty magazine and took out his last one from the pocket.

"I have to get closer to him."

An exchange of shots took place, and he was counting his opponents bullets. As soon as the kid prepared to reload, he tried to get away from the Porsche. For a split second, he had to take a step outside of a proper cover.

4 bullets left.

"Bang."

Alex took his Glock 19 out of the system and fired. Johann was taken by surprise.

The bullet grazed by Johann's left leg. He didn't stop and pushed himself away into cover.

Alex took aim again. Another shot, this time towards the fuel tank of the Bentley Flying Spur that Johann was hiding behind.

'Ding.'

The car was armored, so the bullet ricocheted and left a deep dent on the outside chassis. He didn't stop, and shot at the same spot once more. This was bound to get his enemy out in the open.

'Boom.'

The fuel inside the tank was ignited, and the vehicle exploded. Expecting Johann to move, he prepared both of his guns.

A few seconds passed. No sign of the enemy.

'Alert! Enemy attack in close proximity!'

Alex moved his body, but the bullet reached him nontheless.

Taking the advantage of the explosion, he had jumped away in a different direction. He didn't have a clear shot due to the fire, but the target was in sight. It was the perfect opportunity.

A slight backward jerk, indicating that the bullet connected. Johann came into view for a clear shot. As soon as he saw Alex, his stoic expression transformed into pure horror.

A millisecond after the shot, Alex's body suit had absorbed the impact. When Johann appeared, he had a clear vision of his hand. Taking advantage of his control, he aimed the barrel with pinpoint accuracy, and took the shot.

"Bang."

As recoil hit, Alex closed his eyes.

A wave formed by blood spattered onto the ground. A single object drowning in all of the crimson liquid raining from above.

A wrist holding a gun, separated from the arm.

Johann dropped to his knees. He was surrounded by a puddle of his own blood.

"You were too reckless."

Not even comparable to someone like Alice, let alone a high-tiered assassin from the major families. He didn't have to use any of his skills. He was overqualified for this mission.

He put the barrel to his head, and asked.

"Any last words?"

Johann didn't respond.

"Goodbye then."

He pressed the trigger.
