Establishment

As I wake up the first sounds I hear are shouting voices and banging sounds coming from outside. Walking out the opened door I notice I'm in one of the extra rooms of my home, a huge section across the hall is completely demolished and there are various bones and rubble strewn about but luckily that's the extent of the damage. As i continue to wander through my home taking note of the damages I hear a soft voice coming from the main room that I turned into a meeting room followed by a grunt in pain. I run to the room and throw open the door and watch as Tugta is already holding her axes defensively and standing in front of the sitting form of Wug, his back using the wall to support his massive frame as he smiles at me with a tear in his eye. Before anyone can say anything else I dash towards the ogre and plow into his arm squeezing it tightly in a desperate hug as tears freely flow from my eyes.

"Fuck big guy I thought we lost you! I couldn't do anything and I watched you fall and I'm sorry for being so weak and I'm going to get stronger so you never have to do anything like that again and I'm just so happy your ok!!!" I blubber as Wug just smiles down at me with gentle eyes, Tugta watching from a few feet away has a smile on her face as she nods her face once before gently peeling me off of his arm.

"No worries boss, Harold says that he'll be fine and that in a few more days he might even recover enough strength to walk. Was a bitch getting him in here though, took me, Jeff, Fey, and that lizard of yours to carry him plus he eats like a damn mule. Jeff did tell me that if you woke up before he got back that your first priority should be to use that settlement stone to get this place established. That way we'll have some basic defenses plus nobody knows what type of building you'll get from it since gremlins aren't exactly around anymore. I do know that orc's get a warcamp that lets us train our people a lot faster and give them higher battle skills than other races. Dwarves usually get a smithy that allows every item made in it to be of the top most quality and gnomes get a type of library that gives them a 100% enchanting success rate as well as allowing their members to learn spells faster. The elves keep their settlement building a secret though but wouldn't surprise me if it had to do with either politics or nature." Tugta babbles on before realizing the tangent she went on and stops abruptly with a blue blush.

After making sure both of them are ok and have everything they need I give my good byes and begin walking out of my home and towards the cave. As I step outside I look around in astonishment as I see several building frames that look almost exactly like the ones in my old life but these are made out of stone, bone, and lumber. Looking around the clearing I spot Fey carrying four logs that even Wug would struggle with on his shoulders, the mason walking towards the corner of the clearing that we just piled our loot and stuff in. After nodding happily at the progress I finally enter the cave and walk to where our makeshift beds sat. I gaze at the pile of dingy furs I slept on not long ago and sigh wistfully wishing things had stayed that simple but afterwards i look at a wall nearby with a small hole in it. As I approach the hole I pull out my cane and begin slamming it as hard as I can at the hole hoping to break through the wall and see what's on the other side but after a few minutes of pounding I'm exhausted and have barely made a dent before a muffled cough comes from behind me.

"You know little one, there are easier ways to make a door. Brute force isn't the answer to everything so why don't you catch your breath and allow me to work on this. It shouldn't take to long." Fey says as one tentacle wraps around my waist and gently moves me on top of the old furs as his other three begin using a mallet and chisels to quickly pound away at the hole. After a few minutes of watching in astonishment the hole that was only about the size of a baseball before is now a rounded archway standing an impressive eight feet tall and just as wide. As I continue to watch I see Fey delicately chiseling around the outside of the arch pictures of various roots and tree's. I get lost in watching him work and before long he finally puts his tools back onto the belt he's wearing and nods happily before turning back to me and sitting down.

"Thank you for the silence while I worked its very refreshing to have someone just appreciate my efforts instead of questioning them. Now I know you have that stone and I'm assuming your here to activate it so what kind of room do you want it in. And after you figure out how it works you'll have to tell me what kind of buildings you need. So while I take a rest here you should get to it." Fey says in a gentle voice as he leans against the cave wall while watching me take out the shining stone from my inventory.

As i take out the settlement stone I walk into the small side cave that we opened up and see its a a small cave area filled with various mushrooms and moss. Once I reach the center I put the stone on the ground and the prompt comes up asking if I'd like to activate it in this area. After I accept a pulse of light bursts from the stone as everything in the cave glows slightly before going back to normal, as I look back at the stone I see that it now sits on a dull stone pillar that comes to my waist. As I reach out to touch the stone a prompt appears as well as a small orb of light floating off the stone and hovering atop it.

As the slew of information hits me I finally finish reading it before looking at the leader roles. As it says that I'm the Leader of the settlement I assume that means I get to choose who fills the other roles. I add Fey to the builder role and after thinking about it for a few minutes I put Slab as our hunter figuring his bow and beastmaster abilities might become useful. Mog is put in as our head farmer since so far he's the most knowledgeable about growing stuff and I decide on Jeff as the Guard captain figuring that since he's the strongest here for now he'll be able to keep the peace. After confirming everything the small ball of light grows to five times its size before breaking into five separate balls each glowing a different color and the size of a softball. the original ball floats above my shoulder while another floats over to Fey much to my surprise. The other three zoom out of the cave and into the camp before a prompt appears.

Before i know it the ball of light hovers in front of my face and a giggling is heard from it. After a few seconds I'm dumbfounded as a voice is heard in my head.

"Hello I'm your designated settlement companion. My name is Dawn and it's my job to keep track of all the information about your new settlement. Each of the leaders of the assigned roles have been given their own wisp that can be used to relay messages and give out tasks as well as show their current goals and progress through them. I hope I can be helpful towards our goal of making this settlement thrive!" Says a childlike voice before I laugh happily and start asking questions.
