Hell Frozen Over

The Hero Association HeadQuarters, ten executives are discussing the most recent meeting going awry. They bring up that the criminal profile suggests that the culprit was the Hero Hunter Garou. "He defeated S-Class Hero, Tank Top Master with his bare hands so regular guards won't be enough. Issue an alert. Until Garou is defeated, executives should stay inside if possible. And take a Class S Hero when going out." One of the executives states while leaning in his chair. They were seconds away from calling the meeting adjourned before they were reminded of another issue, regarding the vigilante hero. "Director B. Dicks informed us that he invited as many people as he could to this meeting. Humanity can't be separated right now, the prophecy is too much of a threat to not just heroes but the entire human race. But at no point did anyone in attendance spot him, this vigilante hero. Until further notice, the Vigilante Hero is as of now as much a priority as Garou. Most S-Class Heroes are busy addressing monsters but the safety of executives close with sponsors is more important." The meeting went on for a little longer before it finally ended.

As they left the Director ran into S-Class Hero Metal Bat. "Metal Bat? Are you here for something?" Metal Bat explained that the S-Class heroes had just had a meeting of their own and stated that he has to pick his sister up. "I have someone watching her right now." Leaving the Headquarters, he thinks about the meeting he just had. 'I have a bad feeling'. He thought as a cold breeze blew past him.

Christan POV

'This can't be happening. Not now. Why now?' I thought while once again locking eyes with her. "Oh, that's not the look you give to an old friend. It hurts my feeling you'd look at him with such rancor in your eyes," Her smile deepened into an eerie scowl. "It's pissing me off." Her voice no longer had her soft tone but now she was showing her true self. "How'd you find me, Tanya?" I asked her while putting my hand out so Zenko was behind me. "I never lost you. I've kept my distance, even helped keep you captivated." She told me as she slowly walked towards me. "Why? With all that money you have, I know I can't have been that important. Are you doing this for something else or is it still the same old story between us?" I asked as I got more frustrated as I stared at her.

She stopped dead in her tracks after hearing my question. "Don't play coy. You already know the answer to that. You are nothing but a blemish in my once perfect record," Ice began to slowly erupt from her feet. "Your death is my remedy and required before I move on. Because I'll never be able to sleep in this world knowing I share it with the likes of you." She told me with a wicked smile on her face. All I could think about was what to do. My heart was beating at a hundred miles an hour and my mind was racing. 'She's not gonna stop until I face her. But my body hasn't moved since I laid eyes on her. My usual tactics won't work on her.' I said to myself as I felt Zenko tug on my jacket. 'First, I gotta get Zenko back inside. Hope she doesn't talk back and just listens.' I looked down to Zenko and signaled for her to run inside my place. She didn't say a word before she gave me a nod. "I'll explain everything if this ends well." I told her. "You'll win. That's the Christan I know." She told me as she waited for my signal. I smiled at her before responding. "This isn't just about winning. It's about if she's right about me."

After I told her that I gave her the signal and she made a run for my place. However, as she was about to touch the door Tanya launched a huge ice wall towards her. It was only but a split second reaction, I barely was able to get in front of her. Holding the wall back with nothing but my bare hands I yell for her to get inside. She ran inside and shut the door and at that moment Tanya spoke again. "Playing the hero again, huh. It's cute, hilarious even." I could feel myself losing my footing trying to hold this thing back. "Oh, are you having trouble, hero? I'll give you a hand." After taunting me the ice wall suddenly overwhelmed me, sending me flying down the street landing on the windshield of a car. The alarm went off as I felt some blood run down my brow, almost getting in my eye. I gradually got off of the car, glass shards falling off of me as I stood there. As I stood there she propelled herself into the air with an ice slide, eventually landing on top of a building.

"Oh now there's an idea," she said as the bridge of ice she used to get up there broke apart. "I'm only going to say this once, so listen up! I, Tanya Winters the IV. Would like to offer you the opportunity of a lifetime. The chance to walk away alive, become my devoted manservant. With that fat oaf gone, I could use a good footstool. Think about it. You'll be out of that run-down shanty. You can stop pretending to be something you're not. And most importantly you'll still be breathing. Well until I get bored with you. So, what do you say hero?" I was caught off guard by her sudden offer. But even so, I was never going back. I'm not like that anymore. I breathed in and out before I responded. "I have everything I could ever want right here in my city," I finally made eye contact with her. "So I'll have to say, thanks but no thanks. Besides, I've seen how you treat the people you work with, not much job security." After I told her that she began laughing with an inevitable sinister tone. "Alright then, so be it. You had your chance. Your new white hair will look just delightful on my wall."

She said as she walked forward falling to the ground landing on her feet leaving a noticeable indent in the ground. I jerked as she landed awaiting for her to make the first move. But then I felt like someone was behind me. I turned my gaze away from her for only a second and there was another Tanya. She nearly skewered me through the back but I managed to just get out of the way. Only getting a cut on my jacket. 'How the hell was there two of them? What's going on?' I thought as I saw the original Tanya turn into ice before shattering into little shards. "Well now, I missed you. How nimble," she said as she turned to me. "Still running away I see. You can't go against your instincts. You have to be true to yourself." She told me in a mocking tone, that just irritated me. 'What other tricks does she have in store. I can't make any wrong moves here.' I thought as I felt this strange feeling. It wasn't fear but it was exhilarating. I felt a small smile creep across my face, which ticked off Tanya.

"Why are you smiling all of a sudden? Something amusing?" I just simply told her why. "It's nothing funny. Just that I kinda like the challenge," her face changed from a look of confusion to anger. "I've taken on monsters on a regular basis and as you've seen it usually ends in one shot. Can you imagine a life of never getting a challenge, where every fight ends in one attack?" I explained to her as I saw an icy blade emerge from her arm. "So you see me as nothing more than a stepping stone, huh. That's just the sort of small-minded drivel that makes your existence so intolerable." she said as a cool breeze shot down the street in my direction coating the ground in this pretty winter wonderland. I felt like I was in an ice rink how slippery the ground was. At that very moment, she quickly skated across the frozen streets and attempted to impale me again but this time with relentless attacks. I couldn't get my footing, leading to her getting many slashes and a few close calls. Her style of dance-like kicks was hard to respond to, it was a little hypnotic as she then kicked me hard in the face with a ballerina-like spin. I'm not sure how I could attack her yet, with my feet not being able to sit still on all this ice and her style of fighting. But just then I slipped, falling flat on my back.

Without hesitation, she went for a kill shot. She was inches from finishing me but only ended up giving me a pretty large gash across my left cheek. Off reaction alone, I mustered some form of attack and used my arms to push myself up, drop kicking her in the chest. This only angered her further as she started to attack me with a double-bladed frenzy that was more intense yet still had this graceful feeling about it. Like she may want to kill me but wants to look show off while doing it. Noticing her movements became more fierce I saw that her attacks were also a little linear. She was no longer able to get any severe damage on me. So when I saw an opening to strike I took it. She went for a trademark frontal thrust with her blade arm but I sidestepped her, elbowing her in the gut before delivering a back fist stunning her. She grabbed her face with a shocked expression on her face. "How dare you." her veins were visible on her head she was so enraged. I was just confused at what she said. "Hmmm, how dare I what? Weren't you just trying to attack me?" I sarcastically asked her, trying to anger her more. Which surprisingly worked.

She then proceeded to launch a barrage of ice crystals directly at me but without much effort, I shattered all of them with just a few swipes of my hands. It felt like the ice floor below me was no longer an issue as I walked towards her. I walked right up to her as I proceeded to repeat myself. "You really don't learn quickly, do you? I've taken on monsters on a regular basis, every single day. You may be way more talented than me. You may have been trained by the best but you've never really been in an actual life or death fight, have you. Hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard. But you can never understand that," I then felt my fist begin to heat up. "There are two different kinds of people. Those like you are born with natural talent and don't have to work at it. And those like me! The ones that have to train and fight every day to survive." After I said that she laughed. "Stop prattling on. Drop your trivial facade, I know what you really are and what you'll always be. You can't change who you are. You're just a child playing hero."

But then suddenly she slid across the ground towards me this time with ice claws in both hands but I effortlessly evaded it before kneeing her in the gut, stunning her. But she was relentless, she blindly charged at me again going for my eyes but I handily warded off her two blows and delivered two of my own. Undeterred she went to punch me but while extending her ice into a spear that I deflected I used it to get leverage and kick her into a nearby wall. I could tell that her fighting style was much more refined than anything I've seen before. However that's her biggest disadvantage, her traditional fighting style still retains a lot of trademark attack patterns that leave her open every time she goes on the offense. With my base-level knowledge of Silver Fangs fighting style, it was pretty easy to see through.

The dust cleared and she was now sitting down near an indent. I was a little disappointed. "Seriously, that's all you got. Back in school, you were called a genius. Perfect grades, the MVP in every sport and to top it off your rich. There was nothing you couldn't do." She started to get up and looked not angry but with this blank vacant stare. 'Is she still there?' I thought I was given my answer. "I don't wanna hear anything from the Vigilante Hero." At that very moment, my mind went blank and out of pure aggression, I went to punch her with all of my strength. I then felt this overwhelming cold as my fist collided with her face. It felt like I had just punched steel, no something harder.

I felt something ice-cold grab my wrist in a tight grip, almost breaking it. She looked a little different than before, actually kinda translucent. "I'm much more than merely a genius, I'm the perfect cut of a diamond," she said as I finally got a good look at her. Her entire body was now made of ice that glistened in the sunlight, like a shimmering gemstone. Before I could say anything she then rag-dolled me with this insane strength. She grabbed me by my legs and smashed against the ice floor repeatedly, cracking the ice with my face. I let out a blood-curdling scream as my body bounced off the ground. Finally, she grabbed my head and began dragging me along the side of a glacier wall from before. She then took a page out of my book and mockingly saying. "I'ma plant me a dumbass tree," she then plants me inside the ground, which caused me to land outside of my front doors. It felt like my soul left my body, how my body was numb all over. "To reiterate what you said, that all you got, hero?" She said but I could barely hear her over the loud ringing in my ears.

As I laid there with my eyes feeling heavier and heavier Zenkos yelling my name came through. "Hey Christan, you were winning a second ago. What happened out there?" I didn't have a clear answer. 'Her power before was nothing to scoff at but suddenly she turned into such a juggernaut. She might be as durable as S Rank Hero Superalloy Darkshine, the way she is now.' I gradually got to my feet, still having a huge headache after being thrown around. Tanya's pace is a lot more methodical now. Like she was savoring every step she took towards me. With my arms drapped down in front of me, still feeling like they were asleep. "Zenko, when did you say your brother would get here?" She frantically pulled out her phone. "I'll try calling him." She said before I sarcastically said 'Oh no, take your time' to myself. "Don't know why I'm surprised, she has always been the best at everything since high school. There's no doubt about it she's strong, far stronger than I thought she'd be. I'll still win." I said as she finally stopped a few feet away from me with a hand on her hip. "Oh, I feel REAL good about my life right now. I know diamond is a bit gaudy but I wanted to ensure you grasp my position atop the pecking order. And for the sake of your feeble mind let's keep the name simple as well. We'll call this Crystal Frost." She told me looking as I just kept grinning.

Frost POV

'Look at him, smiling and ready for more. Who does he think he is? Why's he so calm? What sort of scheme is he plotting?'  I thought before he spoke up again. "Frost huh. You say I'm playing the hero yet you're playing the villain. In a way, we're a little alike-." The moment the words left his mouth it felt like my blood was boiling. Without warning I rushed him, driving my head against his. He countered that with a few punches but I didn't feel a thing. It's cute how he tries so hard. As he realized that he wasn't doing any damage, and now with a look of pure disbelief. I simply knocked him down, into the ground. Breaking my ice floor. But then he sprung up and attempted to hit me with a fireball. So I decided to show off. As the flame was about to make contact with me I faded backward falling into the ice floor as if it were water. This made him miss, confusing him. As he stood there baffled, I reappeared with my hand pointing a blast toward his chest. I unleashed the blast sending him flying into a building. I fired five more ice blasts that freeze his neck, both arms & legs to the wall, leaving him in a christ pose against the wall. I walk up to him with a very pleased smile on my face.

"What's the matter? Not winning as easily as you thought?" I sarcastically asked him. Through painful grunts, he spoke. "I never said it would be easy." I mockingly laughed at him. "Ha, you won't be winning at all." I then slapped him twice across the face, finally getting a reaction out of him. Small sparks bursted off of him as I stood there. "What hero?! Are you feeling angry? Humiliated? Is that it?!" I then punched & kneed him in the face & stomach. "Fool! You don't, know, what, humiliation is! I back away from him. "Don't worry, I will teach you the bitter taste just as you...have taught me. Me, Tanya Winters IV. At my fingertips, I held the ability to win at everything I set my sights on.

I am a Winters, I'm royalty. On my shoulders rests the glory of my family history. Bathed in glory and victory. For decades everyone trembled at the sound of our family name, but you didn't, did you Christan?! And at your hands, your common hands, my very being & my vanity, the foundations from upon which I always stood, began to crumble at my feet. It was at your hands that I suffered my first great humiliation. Toppled by a piece of low-leveled trash! The game of kings and queens, chess. Imagine the disgrace I suffered when the dexterity, I had my whole life, was defeated by a piece of dirt like you." I told him looking dead in his eyes. "To think you'd still hold such a petty grudge. It was just a chess match." Every time he opened his mouth it ticked me off. "You ignoramus, it's not about the damned chess match. It could have been anything, sports, grades or hell, even attendance. You tarnished my family name. It is time to take back what is mine. I will not live my life as your second. That time is over. Every breath you take is an insult to my family, but no more Christan! By my hands, you will be cut down inch by inch. The way you have cut down my vanity!" I raised my hand forming my arm into a blade.

"And when I'm done with you, I'll freeze this city and smash it," Stream started to come off of him like his skin was smoking, but I paid no mind to it. "Then I'll visit your little friend and believe me I'll be sure to treat her like I treated you back in the day." After saying that his he looked up at me as a fiery aura busted off of him. His contorted to that of ruthless aggression. He ripped himself off the wall bringing pieces of the wall with him, still attached to his wrist. He then slammed the large chunks of stone into me, shocking me. I looked back at him as steam once again began erupting from every pore of his body. Scorching heat was potent in the air as the ice around began melting. "You can hurt me. You can say whatever about me. But I won't let you hurt my city and I won't let you hurt my friend!" His voice echoed throughout the street as the area he stood bursted into a harsh fiery blaze. It was so intense that it melted large amount of my ice floor. 'No. No. No. No. He's progressing to his evolution state.' I thought as I stared into the immense fire pillar. It obscured Christan, showing only glowing red eyes and a demonic silhouette. The pillar then dispersed, raining down sparks and fire. Blazes now coated his entire body in a violent red hue, which emanated from him reminiscent of flickering flames. Like me his whole body evolved and now he is completely covered in fire. The immense heat flowing from him felt like I was being cooked alive, just by him standing there.

For a brief moment, I saw that his face was twisted in rage, then before I knew it he charged towards me at a speed I could hardly perceive. He hit me so hard I felt my face crack as I was sent flying backward. Then he launched up and over me and down behind and double kick me further up into the air. 'I can't even see him moving.' I angrily thought as regained my footing by making a pillar of ice for me to stand on before I spotted him and threw an ice blast at him. But almost immediately after it left my hand he hook kicked me down into a nearby semi-frozen diner. I burst out of the building, completely tearing it down. 'That little cur. How did this happen? It wasn't supposed to go this way.' I angrily thought as I then noticed him rushing towards me. I went to punch him but he caught my fist and the other as I tried to punch with the other hand. My hands were melting as he clutched my hands tighter and tighter. I cried out in unimaginable agony as I felt like id lose my hands in the next few moments.

It hurt but I used my icy hands to slip out of his grasp and jump up with two fists held together making an ice hammer above my head, ready to bring it down on him. But as I was coming down he breathed fire into my face knocking me back. As I landed he didn't waste any time rushing at me again. I tried to attack him saying "wretched little" but he got behind me smashing into me. As I went forward from the attack I fazed into another portion of ice, reappearing behind him trying to stab him. But as my blade was about to run through him I felt a great pain in my abdomen. I slowly looked down to see that his fist had gone right through me. He quickly removed his arm as I stumbled backward. Feeling a hole in my stomach I eventually fell into the pit from where he transformed. Gasping for air and laying on my side in agony I tried to tend to my stomach hole. 'This is asinine. How is he so strong? At the very least his power should be equal to mine.' I thought as the sharp pain slightly subsidies as I restored a majority of the hole, leaving a visible indent where the hole was. 'Still hurts but I'm not done yet.' I thought as I saw that he was just standing there looking down on me. "How dare you look down at me?! You little ingrate! This shouldn't be transpiring. I don't understand. I am royalty, the top one percent. Now you've done it. You've finally pushed me over the edge." I say as the ground below me started stiffening before freezing. "I'll freeze everything. EVERYTHING!" I shouted out before I whipped my face feeling blood wipe onto my arm. "Royal blood, spilled by a lowly commoner. He's beneath me. I'll show him. I'll show my parents. I'll show them all!" I let out a frustrated scream as pillars of sharp icicles sprouted out of the ground all around me.

Zenko POV

'What's the matter with him. Don't you have her right where you want her? This is why I don't like fighting.' I thought as I heard her yell at the top of her lungs. "To hell with you and this city. As I vowed before I'm sending your precious little city back to the ICE AGE!!" after saying that a large ice cloud shot out from her covering a large part of the city in a thick coat of ice and snow. It was so cold it ended up blowing Christan out of his firebody thing like he was a birthday candle. It was also strong enough to open the front door, freezing a little bit of the inside of the house. I quickly closed the door and ran back over to the window to see that it was completely frozen over. "This is bad. Really bad. Where is Brother Bad?"
