A Murder Morning

  Early the next morning Bryan and Bernadette were woken up by a phone call. He crawled out of bed and answered the call, it was from Jason.

"Are you okay now?"

"Yeah, I've never been better." Bryan found it odd that Jason was actually checking in on him.

"In as much as you want to die right now we need you over here."

Bryan frowned slightly, "what's going on?"

"There's been another murder in the city along Rose Street."

Bryan froze for a while. "I will be right there."

He cut the call and stood still for a moment. The time interval between the murders was getting shorter and shorter as if the killer was impatient about something. This was the tenth victim in just half a month.

He glanced at Bernadette who was sleeping soundly on the bed. Her short hair covered part of her face and she looked beautiful like this. If not for this murder case then this morning would've been the best morning of his life.
