The Box

Her eyes, as if by fate, met with a strange black box, tossed under the bed with cardboards cut to cover it. Her eyes widened as she recognised the box.

This was the same box that Fred had brought home two days ago after his morning jog! Back then she had wondered what he was doing with the box and she vaguely recalled that she had seen that box before but where and when?

She bent down and dragged the box out as careful as possible and saw that it was locked. She face palmed herself inwardly, of course he'd lock it. She remembered now that she had seen him burying something that looked like this box some weeks ago.

She reckoned that he might have probably forgotten to bury it again and it was her luck. She looked around doubting she'd ever find the keys. She had another alternative though. She could break the lock.
