Closing The Case

The sudden explosion threw most of the officers, including Bryan, to the ground. If not for the fact that Winslow was already cuffed then he would've had the opportunity to escape.

Bryan jumped up quickly; he looked around the crater and confirmed that his men were complete with only minimal injuries. He sighed; the man was good enough to push them away before self-destructing.

Thinking about self-destruction, memories of Dr Neil floated into his mind. They both died to protect their secrets. Bryan shook his head in disappointment.

"He blew himself up!" an officer said in shock surprise.

"At least we have him." Bryan gestured to Winslow and the man, who had been too shocked to say a word, jerked to reality when he saw him looking at him.

What just happened? Did this man just blow himself up leaving him to face the consequences alone? What was he going to do now? He felt cold sweats running down his back and he shivered.
