Chapter 10: The Weekend Calls

(Ember's POV)

Welp, I made it. I made it to Saturday without killing someone.

Now I'm waiting for my mom to call me so we can talk.

I hear my phone make a bing sound and I looked at it to see that my mom texted me.

'Hey baby girl, Is it okay if I call you now?'

She asked and I send her a thumbs up emoji. Not to long after my mom's ringtone goes off on my phone.

"Hey mom!", I said excitedly.

"Hi my baby, how have you been?", she asks and I hesitate for I second.

"G-good.", I stutter out. Damnit now she knows something's wrong.

"Okay, what's wrong?", she asks sternly and I gulp. I look up and remember that Dylan and them are in here so, I take my phone off the charger.

"Hang on one second mom.", I tell her.

"Okay.", she says and I mute it.

"I'll be back okay just give about 10-15 minutes so I can explain everything to her.", I tell them and they nod.

I walk out if the dorm and outside still in my jammie short shorts and hoodie. I turn off my mute and put the phone back up to my ear as I walk around bare foot.

"Sorry about that mom.", I say and she giggles.

"It's fine, I just wanna make sure my baby girl is okay.", she says and I smile.

"Well I made some friends.", I tell her

"I hope you're sticking with the right crowd for once.", she says sternly.

"Of course mom.", I say to her

"Now back to the subject. What's wrong with my baby girl?", she asks and I sigh sitting on. the stairs of one of the buildings.

"Well, I told my group of friends about.....", I clear my throat. "Him.", I say

"Oh my goodness, are you okay?", she asks

"I'm fine and they still wanna be my friends but.....", I trail off

"But what?", my mom asks sounding suspicious.

"But, you might kill people if I tell this next part.", I tell her

"Well, tell me so I know who I have to kill.", she says and I laugh a little.

"I'm not gonna tell you their names because I don't need you going to jail but, there is this group of girls and their leader spilled the beans about everything, all cause she's 'the princess of the Academy'.", I tell her and I'm telling you I could practically hear the steam coming out of her ears.

"Imma kill a bitch.", she says and I laugh.

"This is the reason why I didn't tell you.", I say and she calms down a little and laughs.

"Okay, now let's put that aside, so mom you know I love ever so much, right?", I ask and she sighs

"What do you want?", she asks and I gasp

"How dare you say that.", I tell her and she laughs at how dramatic I sounded.

"But, yes I do want something.", I say and she sighs.

"What is it?", she asks

"Can I get my hair cut?", I ask

"No.", she says as I get up and start to walk back to the dorm.

"But, why not?", I ask

"Because I said, now I gotta get ready to go to work I'll call you tomorrow. Love you baby girl, bye.", she said hanging up.

"I love you too mom.", I say to myself walking into the dorm.

"Sorry about that.", I say sitting back down on my bed.

"It's no problem.", Dylan said and I smile.

"So, my mom wants to kill Mackenzie and her group now.", I tell them and they started laughing.

"No, I'm dead serious, she will try to to kill them if give her their names. She tried killing this one dude I got into a fight with cause he cut me.", I say and they stop laughing.

"Now I no where the psycho-ness comes from.", I hear Blake say and I roll my eyes.

"Whatever. So, what's the plan for today?", I ask and we just talked, laughed, made jokes, acted like goof balls, ect. for the whole day.

------Time Skip Sunday Morning----------------

'Mom, Mom,Mommy, momma

Mom, mo-' I answered my phone

"Hello.", I say still a little tired even though I've been up for a while.

"Hi baby. I'm sorry I cut our call short yesterday but you know how my boss is, he'll have my head on a silver platter.", she says causing me to giggle a little.

"It's fine mom. Anyways, what's up?", I ask

"The ceiling right now.", she said and I rolled my eyes

"Smartass.", I coughed

"What was that?", she asks I shake my head

"Nothing.", I tell her

"Mmhm, that's what I thought.", she says

"Alright mom, since all my friends are here, would you like to meet them?", I asked and she squealed making me pull the phone away from my ear.

"I'll take that as a yes.", I say putting her on the speaker phone.

"Say hi to my mom guys.", I tell them and they all said hi.

"Hi! I've heard that you guys are my baby's new friends.", she says and they giggle

"Yes ma'am.", Blake says

"Pfft, no need for ma'am or miss, it makes me feel old, just call me Alice.", she says

"Wel hi Alice I'm Blake.", Blake says.

"I'm Yasmine.", Yasmine says.

"I'm Aaron.", Aaron says

"And I'm Dylan!", Dylan yells jumping off the bed.

"Well it's nice to somewhat meet you all. I should be getting ready for work now, bye! I love Ember.", she says.

"I love you too mom.", I say hanging up the phone.

"Wow, you're mom seems nice.", Aaron says.

"Of course she is, where would you get the idea that she's not?", I ask and she gives me a 'seriously' face.

"Okay, okay, so I might be a little mean sometimes but I have my reasons.", I say and sit down on the floor.

"Now,", I say reaching for desknto get my sketch book out and my drawing things.

"You guys wanna walk around the campus with me?", I ask and they looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders and we get up and head out the door.
