Toshisan

"I really think you should meet him. He's your brother Ren." Toshinori says for the seventh time that day.

Ren sighs and sets her cup on the counter. She twirls the ring on her finger. Yes, they were engaged now, since the night before. They may be rushing it slightly, but they love each other more then anything.

"They didn't want me. They were contacted when I was brought in and they didn't want me. I was dangerous and a monster.." Ren shakes her head. "They don't deserve to know me."

"That was your parents, not your brother. You can't blame him for their mistakes. He deserves to know his baby sister is getting married. You deserve to have him at your wedding."

"Our wedding, not just mine. Why can't we just elope. Tom wouldn't mind." She tries but he shakes his head at her. "Toshi.." she whines loudly at him.

"If I agree to elope you have to meet your brother." He says simply.

"That's not fare.." She plops down and frowns. "What if he doesn't remember me.. we were kids..."

"He'll remember his baby sister. He was ten when you disappeared, wasn't he?"

Ren nods and jumps up on the counter. She starts fiddling with her dog tags around her neck. She does that often when she's anxious or upset. Unlike Thomas, who put his in a box and hasn't looked at them since. She uses them as a reminder, a reminder of the family she lost over seas.

"It will be fine Ren. If it makes you feel better I can come with you." He stands from his spot at the table and walks over to her.

"No, this is something I have to do on my own. I'll go tomorrow, I promise." She wraps her arms around his neck and his wrap around her waist. "So can we just elope? I don't need anything fancy, just you Tommy and Naomasa."

Toshinori laughs and kisses her. "I'll think about it." He says but Ren knows she's won, she always does.

Ren walks in to the teachers lounge at UA. This is defiantly the school she would have went to. That is if she had gone to school. She stops at the door and watches the hero's interact.

"Can I help you?" One of them asks. Ren doesn't know which hero he is, she doesn't really care.

"I'm looking for Aizawa Shouta?" She asks softly. She fiddles with the visitors pass around her neck. Nezu had been all to happy to let her in.

"The yellow sleeping bag?" The same hero points to a large yellow sleeping bag. "What do you need with him? Not an interview I hope."

"Nothing like that." Ren walks over to the sleeping bag and bends down. She looks at her brothers face. He looks exhausted, it makes since. He's a pro hero and a teacher after all.

Sighing she shakes the man slightly. His eyes fly open and he glares at her. "Hello Shouta." Ren states simply. Why is she doing this again? Oh yeah, her husband won't let them elope if she doesn't.

"Do I know you?" His voice is rough and tired sounding. He stands and unzips his sleeping bag before stepping out. Ren stands as well.

"You used to.. it was a long time ago, I don't expect you to remember." She admits as she walks up to a desk and leans against it. "I just wanted to see you. See how much you've changed in all these years. You always said you'd be a hero." She smiles sadly and Shoutas frown deepens.

"I just came to tell you that I was getting married. It seems it was useless seeing as you don't remember me. I'm sorry for disturbing your sleep." She stands back up and fixes her shirt. "Goodbye Shouta." And with that she walks out leaving a confused Shouta behind.

As Ren walks down the hall she wipes away her tears. She had really been hoping he'd remember, that he'd see his baby sister in her. It was stupid, she had changed so much since then, of course he wouldn't recognize her.

"Who was that Shouta?" Yamada Hisashi asks his friend.

Shouta shrugs, "I don't know. But I feel like I should. She seemed so familiar.."

Ren laughs as she walks into her room where her husband lies half asleep. They had married a month ago and it had been small. It was perfect and Ren wouldn't have it any other way.

"Toshi! Toshi!" Ren jumps on the bed. "Get up! I have to tell you something!"

"I'm up.." he grumbles as he grabs her ankle. He pulls pulling her down onto the bed. She laughs and holds out a plastic stick for him. He takes it and looks at it confused.

"I'm pregnant." She states loudly. She was beyond happy. They had agreed they wouldn't try but they also wouldn't try to prevent it from happening. It was something Ren had always wanted, a family, kids.

"You're.. we're having a baby?" He beams at his wife and pulls her into a kiss. She giggles against his lips and kisses back.

"We're having a baby!" She yells happily as she pulls away from him. He smiles and pulls her down to lie with him. He sets his hand on her flat stomach and smiles brightly.

Ren smiles as she sits on Tommy's desk. "So I have some amazing news." She beams at her father figure.

"The last time you said that you were engaged and wanted to elope. Your definition of amazing and mine are externally different." Tom grumbles as he leans back into his chair but Ren can see the small smile at the corner of his lips.

"You're going to be a grandpa." She states simply. Toms chair flips backwards with him in it. She really needs to work on not just blurting things out.

"Dad!" She cries and she jumps off the desk and bends down at his side.

Tom smiles brightly at Ren and pulls her down with him hugging her close. "You called me dad." He mumbles into her neck. "I'm going to be a grandpa." He continues mumbling ignore all the strange looks the two are getting.

"Am I missing something?" Naomasa asks above the two.

"I'm going to be a grandpa!" Tom yells happily after letting Ren go. He stands and grabs his partner and shakes him violently. Ren laughs at the two.

Ren was four months pregnant when everything went to shit. She had just gotten a call from Grand Torino about her husband. He was in the hospital with a life threatening injury. He could die.. Ren couldn't loose him, not him. Anyone but the father of her child, love of her life.

She rushing into the hospital and shoved past many people until she reaches the reception desk. "Yagi Toshinori, what room?!" She can barley see through her tears.

"Miss you have to wait your turn."

"Like hell I do! My husband could be dying! The father of my baby damn it! What room! Yagi Toshinori." She's shaking with rage and fear. Her hands spark blue.

"Calm down or I will have to call security."

"Call fucking security, I don't care. Just tell me where my husband is!" She continues to yell at the woman.

"Ren!" Naomasa calls from down the hall. She turns to her friend as he walks towards her. The moment he's within reach he's pulling her into his arms.

"Nao... please... I can't loose him..." she cried into his chest.

"He's going to live. I just talked to the doctor. Come on, I'll take you to him." He leads her away from the crowd gather and towards her husbands room.

Once in the room Ren sits beside her husband and takes his hand in hers. Tears stream down her face as she looks upon his weak state. She could have lost him, she almost did.

Two weeks after Toshis injury Ren has a miscarriage. It breaks both of their hearts. Ren has lost their baby. Her body had terminated the pregnancy. It was painful, physically and emotionally.

But Ren pushed the pain away because toshi needed her to be strong. He was still injured and needed help recovering. She couldn't let herself fall apart, she had to be strong for him.

"Ren.." toshi whispers as she lies beside him pretending to sleep. She can barley face him right now. "I'm sorry." He whispers as he kisses the back of her head. His arm wraps around her and his hand sits on her stomach, where their baby should be.

Her lips tremble but she doesn't say a word. She just lies there silently crying as her husband hold her and falls asleep. She allows herself to be weak while he sleeps, allows herself to mourn their daughter.

A year passes and Ren hates herself. She has had two more miscarriages, neither of which her husband knows about. They happened much earlier in the pregnancy.

"Yagi Ren?" The doctor calls her name. She stands and follows the doctor back. She had decided to get checked out. Maybe there was something wrong with her? Maybe her eggs weren't any good?

"Alright. So your file said you've had three miscarriages, correct?"

Ren nods, "yes I made it sixteen and a half weeks in my first pregnancy and barley twelve in my last two. I lost my first baby to stress but I don't know what happened.."

"Sometimes a miscarriage, if not handled correctly, can scar the uterine wall. As can trauma. Have you ever experienced extreme trauma to your abdomen?"

"Yes, many times." Ren admits with a frown.

"Id like to preform an Hysteroscopy. It will allow me to see the walls of your uterus and give me an idea of what's wrong. If I find nothing we will go from there, Alright?"

Ren nods "alright. Whatever it takes doctor."

The doctor pulls out a hospital gown and holds it out for the young woman. "Strip down and put this on. I'll be back shortly." The doctor closes the curtain and leaves the room.

Ren frowns and does as told. Once she's in the gown she sits on the exam table. He phone goes off and she quickly checks it.

Toshi:

I'll be home late tonight. I'll make it up to you, I promise.

Ren

Don't worry about it. I understand. I love you, stay safe.

Toshi:

Always. I love you too.

Ren sits on her bed with a frown. How was she supposed to tell Toshinori? She needed surgery to remove the large amount of scar tissue covering her uterine walls. Maybe she could lie and say she was going somewhere for a few weeks? No, she didn't want to lie to her husband.

"Ren," Toshis soft voice sound from the door. Ren looks up and smiles at her husband happily. She holds out her hand for him which he gladly takes as he stands in front of her.

"What's wrong, my love?" He asks and she can't stop her lip from trembling. He always knows when she's hurting.

"I had a doctors appointment today. They said I had scaring on my uterine wall. If we ever want a baby i need surgery to remove it. That's not even a guarantee it's just a start."

"Why didn't you tell me? You know I would have went with you." He frowns, "so surgery, Alright. I'll take some time off, just tell me when."

Ren flings her arms around him. "I love you." She mumbles against his chest. He smiles and kisses the top of her head. "And I love you."
