Doleful Yet Glazed

David’s P.O.V.

The next day, I woke up early because I was determined to go and see my girlfriend. I still loved her, and I wanted to win her back at all costs. I didn’t even care about the wound on my right fist, so I didn’t bother to treat it, nor disinfect it, although my sister was convincing me that she would nurse me.

Diane was so compassionate, but I ended up just covering my knuckles with a handkerchief to stop the bleeding. I used to have rough skin, and I knew that the scar would surely leave a mark, but it was nothing to me. It was nothing compared to the emotional scars that I had to overcome if Helena would leave me.

The rainbow would always come after the rain. That was how I always saw that vibrant thing. But last night, it was impossible for me to watch it since it was too dark, and now, how I wished that the sun could shine persistently and spark the light while giving its warmth.
