Chapter 12 O well! thank you and farewell.

The week passed on the Chiu siblings peacefully, at least on the outside, because Chelsea spent so many sleepless nights thinking of their benefactor. She has too many questions. Whether they really can stay or not in this house. And for how long? He left without clearing out what status their relationship is, they shared a bed, they kissed almost did it, but she can’t make assumptions right?

Ethan has recovered fully and was very grateful to his “brother-in-law” and told his friends about it despite Chelsea’s warning to stop addressing Gregory as his brother-in-law. On the other hand Chelsea found a new part time in the nearby coffee shop, they started at the new school the next day the left the old school, their parents was sentence for two years imprisonment for beating and tying Ethan but there's no evidence on her kidnapping and trafficking so they got away with it, but another couple of years were added for child negligence. It's still not acceptable but they let the law punish their parents. Chelsea would have endured and persevered with her violent and inhumane parents’ treatment of her and Ethan had it not for attempting to sell her to more violent people. Although she thought her heart was numb and used to it, their parent’s cruelty has leveled up bringing a brand new pain to her already bruised mind and soul.

Gregory though never came back and never called. Chelsea treated him as an angel that came to rescue them and moved on with her life. He has to thank him for the house and the start up money. She will not take any more money from the card. Gregory wherever you are thank you and goodbye. She even murmured a real prayer if he is a real angel then she'll be even more blessed.

Outside Poppy University. Chelsea inhaled deeply and smiled to conceal her nervousness. This is her ticket out of poverty, once she graduates, she can start over. She can pay her debt to her benefactor, she can buy her own house or perhaps buy this house from Gregory, since he didn’t live there anyways nor will he ever live there. She just hoped, in the event they will meet one more time, she wanted to let him know that he made the right decision on helping them.

She went in to take the college entrance test. She applied for civil engineering. She wanted to build a sustainable farm system for herself and her brother, it's her lifetime aspiration to never get hungry again.

Although her math skills are a little bit on the southern side, there's nothing wrong with hard work.

After the bloody intellectual battle, Chelsea is tired but went to work at the coffee shop, the manager Yan Deng greeted her with a smile.

"So how's the college entrance exam?"

He enthusiastically asked. Yang is only two years older than her and also in studying at the University she applied into. All the advice was given by him regarding the college.

"It was hella difficult, like my brain neurons were practically dying!"

She complained but she was hoping that she can pass otherwise she'll be annexed and she won't get instructions that an A lister could have. Poppy City has a good education and affordable education system, that's why there is no reason for you to become poor except if you're lazy and slacking your life away like her parents.

"I know you'll make it, don't worry." He then squeezed her cheeks.

She doesn't like it when people touch her but he does it on purpose to annoy her.

"I know I can, and it makes you so cute." She squeezed his cheeks in return.

"You'll get me a dimple if you continue." He retaliated in anguish, she exerted much effort and all the years working hard labor is no joke. Her hands left a red mark on Yan's cheeks.

"Okay, I told you not to leave a love mark on me, sheesh." Looking annoyed.

"Oh, I can give you more, I know you like it come.."

Yan is the first friend she got after transferring, she was so comfortable with this guy that she even told him her life story, and now made a joke about it. He’s the type that can make every bad situation into a funny one. Chelsea wanted to adapt his kind of disposition.

She was chasing her to give him some more pinch. He seriously ran away because her pinch will call out ghosts from underworld. It hurts really bad.

"Don't come any closer, I'm telling mom." His facial expression will not tell that he is joking. He hid himself inside the pantry. She loves bullying this man, only she can do that to him. She even made an evil laugh outside the pantry's door.

"Get away you crazy witch!" He shouted from the inside. Sounding really serious.

"How can you be so cowardly?" She teased some more.

"I'm serious, I'm really telling my mom!" He shouted back.

"You can call your parents, your grandparents, even the whole clan and their pet dragons, come out and we have a customer."

Really she just likes to bully him.

"I don't believe you, don't pinch me anymore." He said in surrender.

"No more pinching promise." She said but of course her fingers are crossed at her back.

"Honey you won't get a kiss from me if you continue pinching me."

That was the most ridiculous threat she ever heard.

"Oh honey! If you're not coming out you won't get any kiss either."

Her life is like this right now, and it gets even better.

"Don't worry I don't like your kiss, I'm fine with kissing you." He continued with this kissing joke they got but none of them has given any kiss to each other.

"Don't be hypocrite come on, my kisses are good." She's now laughing out out loud.

"No thank you." He shook his head like it’s the most horrible thing that can happen to him.

They had a serious façade when a customer came in, but continue to flirt pinching each other under the table. She always had a hilarious day with him. Once they were scolded by the customer thought they were a couple that's where the honey and kisses joke came from. Even Chelsea can't understand their chemistry with each other. All she knew was that he always brings a smile out of her. Chelsea knew he was attracted to her but for now she can't respond to that because at the back of her head she's still waiting for Gregory, she thought her and Gregory might not have much of a relationship, but he was her personal hero. In her secret stash she actually had several portraits Gregory drawn by her. She made it into an effigy almost praying into it. No matter how happy she is with Yan no guy can be more romantic than the Gregory in her mind. Remembering the short encounter they got she took the cellphone he gave and stared into it, she made it into her magic talisman. She felt safe when the phone was with her.
