Chapter 13 Happy days and Mondays

Time passes by and it's Chelsea and Ethan's first day of College. The rest of their high school life was uneventful since their parents were put to jail. The last time they heard they were doing community service and were trying to make an appeal to see them siblings. But the court granted their request not to see Mr. and Mrs. Chiu

Both went to College of engineering Ethan for Computer Engineering and she for Civil engineering. She is probably the only student that is excited to learn irrigation system. The mood inside the first class is awkward, there are some students that already knew each other since they grew up in the area, some like her who knew no one, none of her friends in her high school class went to Civil engineering college. Most went to College of Medicine and College of arts. Students in her class chattered loudly, she just stared on the phone Gregory left for her and checked online some common terms used in Civil engineering, yeah she's that dedicated and focused, until their professor came in. Their instructor is a tall man, almost as tall as Gregory . He also had a similar imposing aura and his gaze fell unto her, wide eyed it's almost like we were surprised seeing her. Chelsea felt weird with the professors treatment towards her. That was just a few moments and he went into his pedestal and started calling out student's names, no lectures but introduce themselves and expectations from the course and from professor. She tried hard to memorize each student in her class so she can be friends with them, this is a life lesson she has learned trying to survive and that is to make a network, just like that quote on Paolo Coelho book that says favor bank, just like in the book she invests favors from people so that she can withdraw them anytime she needs it. That's the only investment she can make for now since she has no money herself, but she makes a very good investment and no can refute it's ingenuity.

After spending some time making mental notes, finally Professor Anthony Han asked her expectations, she went straight to the point that she hopes to learn concepts of agricultural engineering.

"But why not take agricultural engineering instead of Civil." Mr. Han asked with odd interest.

"Well I think civil engineering has it all, why limit myself with just one branch?" Her professor might not agree but she has decided none of it matters now.

"That's very interesting Ms. Chiu through civil engineering may not provide you the specifics but it will teach you the basics and expand your knowledge from it." He commented vaguely, like confirming her thought he may not necessarily agree with her thoughts but he was trying to please her.

After an hour, the first class is finally over, she tried to blend in with other students calling them with their names, and they liked her instantly, human psychology is like that they felt familiarity to people who knew their names, it felt more sincere when you approach them calling their names. Since the class' mood is lighter and more familiar, they're more noisy now and they start to joke around with each other. Chelsea now started to categorize people according to their temperament. There are those that are over confident, mostly will be the class bully, there are timid people and will become the push overs, there are those don't care bring it on attitude, they'll be students with bad grades in the future not that it's really bad because they're all A listers, there are also the nerds, which can possibly belong to push overs but there stupid that were bullied easily. If there are those elite ones they can belong to any group but they're just crazy rich, they're equally distributed to each group. For a poor girl like her they have shining beacons on their heads that read dollar signs. Not that she would really ask money, a little favor here and there is harmless. Just like the property she bought, an elite friend helped her.

"Hey Chelsea would you like to join us for dinner later?" The person asked is one of the overconfident types but she doesn't seem rich nor a nerd.

"Sorry Haley, I have an appointment with my dermatologist after class, why not we do it on Friday?" Haley's eyebrow raised to her response. This is not a direct refusal and that she can not get angry, but the girl knew Chelsea just bi*ch her up. Besides she'd on a tight budget, but it's true though she had a part time job with that dermatologist in their community. Everyone agreed to her request, having fun on school days will always result in some troubles. Upon hearing the dermatologist appointment, some rich girl became alert, Chelsea's skin is very good.

"Really is she any good, can you recommend me?" That was the girl named Rowena Garcia. She obviously is a spoilt and naïve girl, but she's not bad.

"Of course I can! if you want I'll bring you with me today so you can make an appointment." She smiled sincerely.

"Really?!" Rowena looked touched and surprised.

"My dermatologist is Dr. Shayawala, she's been my dermatologist for so long but these rashes kept on appearing, it's hideous!" She pointed the rashes on her arms and back, it's not really obvious unless you will inspect it but for a spoiled girl like her it meant low self confidence.

"Don't worry Ron, I'm sure Dr. Shang has something to help you?" She even called her Ron, Rowena felt special and she felt extremely happy.

"Yeah Rowena that rashes looked ugly, I'll help you pray that Chelsea's dermatologist has a cure for it all." She then laughed and left the group. Haley started to show her true color, a large and bold nametag on her forehead says BULLY. Rowena, not knowing how to react to such a person was about to cry.

"Hey don't mind her she's just jealous, you're way prettier than her, besides see this? She consoled Rowena and showed her the skin that once has wound that never heals because she kept washing dishes not knowing she has eczema. A type of skin allergy that can easily be triggered and irritated by water and soap. She showed Ron the faint mark it made.

"This used to be incurable, I even thought I was cursed by a sorcerer." She laughed really hard at that comment, she really thought she was cursed.

"No spells are real!" Poor Ron, she really is spoilt and sheltered by her parents. But she didn't argue.

"I know you don't believe me, but I know it is real." She said with conviction. She didn't press the issue and went to their next class together.

Ron has an obsession of magical fantasy. She dragged her into a place that was called a Coven, where they believed they were witches and even had a collection of spells and practiced witchcraft. She was surprised to find Mr. Han in the Coven.

“Professor, I didn’t expect you to believe in the supernatural.” Her look of surprise is as if her professor’s appearance in this odd place is supernatural itself. Mr. Han laughed at her expression.

“Miss Chiu, believe it or not, how your mind works is already magic, it is so wonderful and mysterious that even science has barely scratched its surface and welcome to the Coven by the way.” He toured her around.

“I know that this sounds impossible but Wicca is a religion of the free minded people, though we deal with witchcraft believe me it has nothing to do with Satanism.” Chelsea has no interest whatsoever, she wanted to drag Ron away because she has important things to do than waste her time on things that are irrelevant to her life.
