Pride pt. 2

I woke up from an alarm meaning it was 6 o’clock. Today we were going to continue the Pride sin. I went ahead and took a shower since I have an hour to get ready. In the shower, I was thinking of stuff as other normal people will do. I will normally shower with music on but since I don’t have anything to play music there I was just there standing.

I had my phone with me but there is no cell service. I should've listened to my mom when she told me to download music on my phone but oh well. Speaking of my parents I wonder how they are. They have been stuck in the painting for a couple of days without food or water. I hope they are feeding my parents.

I couldn’t stop thinking about yesterday. Why did they mean by that I’m helpful? Maybe they are going to let me help them escape. I hope they do. I’m kind of scared of what they are going to do with Keon even though I don’t know him. We are doing the task of pride to stop being so prideful. Keon keeps doing that and he might be punished by death. I should probably warn him before we go to class.

I stopped showering and I checked the time seeing that it was 6:49 am. I had 11 minutes left which gave me the time to do my morning routine with the stuff they provided us with. When I was done I proceeded to go to the cafeteria.

When I was walking through the hallways I saw Caleb talking to someone. I hid behind a wall to hear their conversation.

“The time machine broke and the kids are going to stay here for more than a month,” a mysterious voice said.

“Fix that thing as fast as you can. We don't want these kids waiting here more than they should,” Caleb said.

“Why do you even care about them,” the mysterious voice said with a chuckle.

“I don’t care about them, more people are going to come and it is going to be full,” Caleb said.

“You don’t care about that and besides you are only trying to save your best friend Lexi,” The unknown guy said.

“She is not my best friend,” Caleb said.

“Yes she is, she just knows you as Elijah,” the guy said.

I was confused. How could he be my friend Elijah? My best friend wouldn’t even do this stuff to me. I left and went another way that goes to the cafeteria. I don’t know how to process all of this. I should probably confront Caleb about this but it’s too risky.

I arrived at the cafeteria and grabbed the food. I went ahead and sat alone again because I couldn’t see Alijah anywhere and she is the only person I know. When I sat down I saw someone sit in front of me. I looked up and saw that it was Amy and she had a slight smile on her face.

“Hey I know you hate me but they made me do that,” she said.

“Who,” I asked.

“The kid named Keon. He was actually the one who hated you and told me to treat you like that,” Amy said.

“Why would you obey him,” I asked, being curious.

“He threatened me with things,” she said.

“With what,” I asked.

“Well he is really good friends with the devil and he can’t pretty much make anything happen. He said that my parents were going to die if I didn't obey him,” she said.

“You don’t have to obey him anymore after today, I promise you,” I said.

“How is that even possible,” she asked me.

“Just trust me,” I said.

I changed my mind about telling Keon about being too prideful. It may be a dumb reason for doing that but it is going to be worth it. If he is still roaming the halls he might manipulate me into doing his stuff. The real thing is that if they are going to really kill him. I mean he is friends with the devil and he can escape death easily.

Since Amy is here I can ask her about what happened yesterday. Why would Mia say that I could definitely help them?

“Amy can I ask you something,” I said.

“Sure what is it,” she said.

“Why did Mia say that I could definitely help you guys,” I asked.

“Oh it’s because Gissell said you were interested in helping us escape,” she said.

“Oh,” I said, taking a bite of my breakfast.

“She was impressed on how you could unlock the lock she gave you,” she said.

Everyone then started to sit down around us. Keon was sitting next to Amy giving her a death stare. Amy then quickly changed her expression to the one she gave when we first met. Is he really manipulating her that bad?

Everybody was mostly talking about stuff for the whole breakfast time. The bell soon rang meaning we have to get to the designated room to complete our tasks. We stood up and threw the plastic plate away and started heading towards the room.

Once we arrived at the classroom the game board was still set up like the last time. We were in the same positions we were before the fire alarm happened. We just had to resume the game. The teacher was sitting at a different desk waiting for us.

“Go to the same seats you were yesterday,” the teacher said.

We all went to the same seats we were yesterday. The teacher said that he was going to leave for 5 minutes and to not touch anything. We were all left there doing nothing.

“Lexi, you don’t look like the type of girl to do all this stuff,” Keon said with a slight smile on his face.

“Don’t start Keon, you always have a problem with new people,” Arlette said.

“I’m just being honest she doesn’t look like the type of girl to be here,” Keon said.

“Yeah right she could probably beat you up,” Arlette said.

“That is not even possible, I bet she’s scared of me,” Keon said with a chuckle.

“The only reason why people are scared of you is that you are friends with the devil. You can’t do anything, you're just weak in the hands of the devil,” Mia said.

“Be quiet,” Keon said with anger on his face.

“Maybe she’s right, you manipulate people to do your stuff just because your friends with the devil,” I spoke up.

“What did you say,” Keon said.

“You know I’m right. You threaten people if they don’t do your stuff. I wouldn’t be surprised if you threatened every person in this room,” I said.

“You really want your parents killed don’t you,” he said.

“You won’t be able to do anything after today,” I said with a smile on my face.

“I like your confidence but it won’t happen,” he said.

The only reason I said that stuff was because I want him to make fun of me when I do something wrong on the board. If he makes fun of me and says how good he is he will commit the sin pride more. I just hope I spin moves that give me bad luck.

The teacher came and sat down with us.

“Alright I’m back and it looks like it’s your turn, Arlette,” the teacher said.

Arlette then grabbed the spinner and spun it. It ended up landing on number four and she moved her character that many times. She ended up landing on the electric company which means she has to pay $150 to the banks. She gave the money to the teacher which she now has $1,230. Keon then gave a small chuckle laughing at her which I smirked in response.

It was then my turn. I spun the spinner making it land on 7. I moved my character 7 times making it land on a community chest. I frowned in response due to the fact that it didn't land on a bad one. I then grabbed a card that said “get out of jail, free”. This card will work if I happen to go to jail like Amy.

It was then Mia’s turn. She spun the spinner which landed on number one. She moved her character 1 time causing her to land on Arlette’s house that she bought. It meant that she had to pay Arlette for landing on her territory. Mia checked the price and saw that she only had to pay $100. She paid her leaving Mia with 1,385 dollars and leaving Arlette with 1,330 dollars. Keon then laughed at Mia giving me exactly what I want, making me smile.

Amy looked at me with confusion as to why I'm smiling at Keon and that’s when it hit her. She knew what was about to go down after this game which made her smile too.

It was Keon’s turn next.
