Chapter 8: Remember the Past, Forget Your Future Part 9

Poppy was sitting on my bed, looking up at me with a half smile on her face.

“Hey, what’s up?” I asked her, approaching and sitting in the chair, across from her.

“I was wonderin’ if uh, I could stay the night in here with ya.” She stammered, “I’m still just a bit worried about the you know what.”

“Oh, that’s totally fine.” I responded, somewhat happy myself to have some company tonight. I stood up from the chair, and from the corner of my eye, I spotted something, sitting in the corner of the room, behind the bedframe. I had a feeling that I knew what it was...but I didn’t want to worry about it that night.

I made my way to the bed, and laid down next to Poppy, feeling a lot more comfortable with her.

We sat there for a few minutes, lingering thoughts about the motive, and what might happen next waiting in our thoughts, before Poppy spoke up.
