-Izume’s perspective-
Last night I called my manager and was updated on what everyone else is doing now that I'm on hiatus and it turns out they might come to Japan to do a cooperative performance with a company here. I wouldn't have a problem with that if it wasn't for the fact the group we would have to work with is a group of guys, whenever we've tried to work with guys in the past something's gone terribly wrong, one time Jen tripped and fell off stage and took two of the other groups members with her they got hurt and we had to pay massive compensation fees. I'm just going to pray it goes well, I have a meeting with them on behalf of Kate today after school and if that goes well I'll be the medium for her until the girls make the trip to Japan. ‘So much for a hiatus thank goodness I got those extra hours of sleep, but at least I get to work again.’
Uncle Yagi was in a good mood when he came home so I assume that Subakasu told him about me welcoming him to the family, he made dinner again because I was planning what songs to sing at orientation. I have time for at most four songs but that's if I start the next song almost immediately after the previous one is done, so I'll plan to sing three and if times on my side I'll sing a fourth song without the music. ‘The new song I finished recently could work for that, but if I end up singing it I'll get shit from Kate for not giving it to her to approve first.’ I need to make sure I don't get too excited before I even get to school but I'm really happy I get to sing in front of a crowd again even if it's only been about two weeks it feels like it's been forever, when I was in Canada if I wasn't performing I was rehearsing for a performance so it felt like I was always surrounded by music, even in school the teacher would let me practice at the back of class or in the hall after my work was done.
I get to school with uncle Yagi and he shows me where my class is. It's early so no one is here yet not even the teacher. Instead of taking a seat and waiting, because I hate waiting more than I hate Satan himself, I turn around to look back at Uncle Yagi. “Since nobody's here could you show me around?” He sighs and gives me a look that reeks of the phrase ‘I'm sorry’ “Sadly Pup I have work to attend to, but you're always free to explore the school on your own as long as you're back in class on time.” I don't mind that he has to leave, I love spending time with him so I would rather explore with him but I'm not opposed to going alone. ‘At least he didn't tell me I had to wait.’
“Ok, I'll see you after school then.” I give him a wave and head down a random hallway, I have no clue as to where this is going to take me and I have a feeling that's about the most exciting thing that's going to happen until I get to stand on stage.
I wander around a bit passing classrooms and washrooms the only thing really catching my attention being a room labeled ‘Dogs’ why is it labled dogs I have no clue, I want to find out but right now I'm trying to locate the gymnasium.
If it's where it is in almost every school it should be somewhere in the middle of the building, so at the next turn I'll go right. To my surprise I actually find myself at the doors to the gym. I walk in and spot exactly what I want to see, a stage.
I walk up the steps to the stage and take a deep breath. ‘I love it.’ I don't know how many people here will know me so I can't rely on my reputation to help me win them over, most musicians would be scared of that fact but I love it. They will like or dislike my music because of the songs themselves not just because I'm famous. ‘famous, I dislike that word when it's used to describe me and yet here I am doing just that.’ I look at the clock and class is going to start in twenty minutes so I should start heading back now.
I exit the gym and make it back through the maze they call hallways getting to class with five minutes to spare. ‘Let's see what seats are left’ I walk in and I’m met with only two options, one: a window seat in front of a boy with half black and half green hair.
Or
Two: the seat beside the fire boy aka a puppy's living nightmare.
So I choose to sit in front of the half head since I think I know him. As I make my way to the seat I see the blonde boy I choose not to sit next to glaring at me and ignore it. After three minutes of doing nothing but the thing I dread most on this earth (waiting) the teacher comes in and I immediately pull the note principle Haku gave me out of my bag just in case I'll need it. I walk up to the teacher who still looks as though he needs sleep. “Could you please mark me present? I have to go to orientation early in order to do sound checks.” He doesn't look very impressed, kind of looks like a cat when I try to go near it like ‘go the fuck back to where you came from you have no business approaching me.’ but I do indeed have business with him so unlike the situation with the cat I will stand my ground. “We won't be going to orientation so take your seat” I give him a smug look and hand him the note, he growels slightly after reading what the principal had written but motions to the door with his head. I couldn't be more relieved to be out of that situation.
I go through some pretty standard checks with the sound team, which I thank them for. I do warm ups and I'm starting to get really excited, the last time I was this excited for a performance it was my debut. All of a sudden my hearing gets ten times better and I can feel myself wagging my tail. ‘It was going to happen eventually, I've been suppressing it all day.’ Although this is not my main quirk I'm quite fond of it and the audience tends to enjoy it when I show off my ears and tail so that's a bonus. I finish up my warm ups and I get a signal that they're ready to let people into the gym. I get into position and I see the first person walk through the door, after a few more students enter right after them, someone on the tech crew starts instructing students on where to stand through the mic that was set up.
“Class 1-B line up at the far side of the gym and then 1-C, then 1-D you get the point.” When everyone is in the gym I see principal Haku get on stage. “This is normally when I give a long speech about being a hero but this year I have a special treat for you. A much shorter speech and a pop idol performance.” After listening to principal Haku droning on for what feels like thirty minutes I start to wonder how long his long speech is if this is supposed to be much shorter. Eventually the words I’ve been waiting for exit his mouth. “please welcome Jinx from GT studios!” I hear some people scream and others doubting the principle but as soon as I walk out a loud clap and a few screams are shed. I walk up to the mic and my tail starts wagging furiously. “Thank you principal Haku for that lovely introduction let's get this show on the road then shall we, I’m sure you're all ready to go home.” The music starts playing and my ears perk up. ‘Kate’s going to be pissed but I'm too excited to not sing my new song.’
*Outside with Izume’s class*
-Ken Bakuhatsu’s perspective-
We line up outside and all of a sudden we hear singing from the school. A girl with purple hair and a mass amount of piercings starts to freak out about someone named Jinx. ‘Shitty famous people always getting attention for doing stupid shit.’ We do a few physical tests and the music is still going although it's a different song. ‘Whoever it is singing there voice isn't half bad but I bet I could still kick there ass if we fought.’ The tests finish and the list of who did the best gets posted by the teacher. I know I should be first. I walk up looking at the top name ‘Taiyō Izume’ ‘Who the fuck is that?’ I overhear a conversation going on behind me about the exact same thing I was thinking. “The person who got first, isn't she the one who left as soon as class started.” “yep, I heard she gon in through recommendations.” ‘SHE WASN'T EVEN HERE WHAT THE FUCK?!’ The second place is Nanashima Tobio, And my name is third. I've never been third in anything I’m always first without even trying. But I did try and yet I still got third. I feel my blood boil as I storm off. I don't want to deal with this bullshit right now.
