Subakasu

*at home*

-Izume’s perspective-

“Ummmmmm… so that Sobakasu Finral kid sure is something, huh?” I turn to look at Uncle Yagi but after what I just asked him it seems like he's avoiding me slightly and pretends not to hear me. He knows how much I hate secrets but to go as far as to ignore me just so I don't get mad at him is childish, I swear sometimes it's like I'm the adult taking care of him. “I'm just going to get to the point, you gave him your power right?” there was a long silence and he looked anywhere but my direction. “No.” ‘Did he just lie to my face, why that grrrrrRRRRRRUFF- Ok fine.’

I lift my head slightly and put a huge smile on my face. “Good!” He looked at me with confusion and raised an eyebrow, I could almost hear the mental turmoil ‘does she hate him? Did I make a good choice’. I may be interrogating him but I won't let him continue to worry by staying silent, although seeing him freak out about something so small is amusing considering he faces villains without the slightest bit of worry. “Since he's not your successor I can date him. I mean seeing him take down that robot in the exam was kind of hot.” and like a flash of lightning his face changed from confusion to one of a parent finding out their child is going to eventually have some sort of sexuel atraction to someone. “DATE!? HOT!? You can't date Sobakasu!” as he said that he puffed up into his hero form and didn't even notice me laughing to myself, him being distracted gave me time to center myself and put on a voice that sounded very ‘matter of factly’. “Yes I can, you said he didnt inharate your power so why not?” it's starting to get really hard not to fall over with laughter at this point because Uncle Yagi looks like a fish and is slightly turning red. I change my tone to sound more like I'm interrogating him again. “Unless you lied to me, in that case I guess I'll have no choice but to give up on these feelings.”

After he processes what I said he deflates again with shame very present on his face, and looks down. “I apologize for lying Pup but the less people that know the better.” I don't like that he lied to me but since it's only because he tried to protect me I can let it slide this once. “I'll forgive you this time but do it again and you'll be cooking your own dinners for a month.” I looked at him with a slight smile until he gave one back and nodded his head to show me he understood. “Now give me his number so I can call him.” He seemed about to start panicking again because I was asking for the number of the boy I called hot not even two minutes ago. “don't worry it's just so I can see if he wants to train together, since he's practically family now.” He gives me a questionable look and then gives me Sobakasu’s number, before heading off to bed.

“*Ring*...*Ring*...h-hello?”

“Hi, is this Sobakasu Finral?”

“Yes may I ask who this is?”

“Taiyō Izume, you probably recognize the last name because I'm Heavyweights niece. He may have called me Pup if that rings a bell.”

“Oh, ya he did mention a Pup, may I ask why you called?”

“I called because you inherited my uncles power and in case you didn't know that makes you family as far as I’m concerned. So why don't we meet up for training tomorrow?”

“Of course, thank you!”

“ I'll see you at the beach tomorrow at five a.m sharp. Am I clear?”

“Y-Yes I wont be late!”

“Good because if you're late by even one second I'll make you do extra laps while being chased by dogs, Goodnight.”

“G-Goodnight.”

I hang up the phone and go upstairs to go to bed. Hopefully he's a good kid.

I wake up at four thirty and go to uncle Yagi’s room to get him up as well. He rolls out of bed and starts getting ready while he's still half asleep, I go back to my room and do the same. I take a shower, brush my teeth, and get dressed. When I get out of my room Uncle Yagi is still not even halfway through his morning routine so I go down stairs to make us both some breakfast. I get to the kitchen and take out eggs and bacon, but then end up putting them back and making pancakes. I finish making breakfast and eat, Uncle Yagi is still getting ready so I put his in the microwave. “I'm going first, your breakfast is in the microwave, catch up when you can!” I head out the door and immediately start jogging to the beach. I get there about ten minutes early to wait for Subakasu, the waves are calm and the sun is still rising. ‘It's beautiful out today, makes me want to sing. I should text my manager when I get home to see if we can arrange that meeting she was talking about, who was that with? I’ll have to a-’ “Um, are you Pup?” I turn around to see a boy with messy light brown hair and gold eyes. I know it’s Subakasu because I recognize him from the exam.

“Yes, but only people who are close to me like Uncle Yagi, My manager Kate, and my really close friends call me that. you can call me Izume.” His gold eyes almost shine with excitement as he looks at me. “okay Izume, um… where's Heavyweight?” Finral looks around confused, I wave my hand in front of me to dismiss his confusion. “he's still getting ready and should be here shortly, but let's get started without him, first try to follow me and keep up if you can.” I start to walk and slowly escalate my speed to a fast sprint. We run for about an hour before I start to lose him. “If you fall behind you can forget about calling me family.” He gives me a determined nod and catches back up to me, who knew being considered family was so important to him. Then again we are talking about a hard core Heavyweight fan so being given the chance to be like family with him probably seems like being family with a God to him.

After running back which took another hour I slow back down to a walk and turn around to see that although he is a few meters behind me, Finral managed to somewhat keep up with me. “Ok, that's it for now take a break Fin-kun.” “T-Thanks… Izume.” he says in between pants before collapsing to the ground for a break. ‘He seems to be pretty determined for whatever reason so I guess if Uncle Yagi trusts him I can too, but I’ll be keeping my eye on him.’ “Welcome to the family Fin-Kun!” His eyes go wide with shock. “F-Fin-kun?” It seems like he didn’t hear me use the nickname earlier. “do you not like the name?” Finral shakes his head frantically and I watch his brown tufts of hair bounce all over as he does. “No, I like it!” I let him continue his break as I sniff the air, I can smell Uncle Yagi coming and I want to go have a meeting with my manager over FaceChat so I’ll leave the rest to him. “Uncle Yagi will be here in under a minute so I’ll let you train with him, if he asks where I went tell him I needed to talk to Kate.” He nods his head and bows “thank you!” I give him a confused look and raise a brow “why are you thanking me?” He stops bowing and has a smile on his face. “For you know, welcoming me to the family and believing that I’m worthy of Heavyweights power.” A chuckle escapes my lips and I return his smile. ‘Ya he’s going to fit into our dysfonctionnel family perfectly.’ “I’ll see you around Fin-kun, and feel free to use my nickname, you are family now.” I walk home and call Kate, as soon as she answers I can tell we’re going to have a long conversation.
