Jake Storm aka Jace Star

Everybody has a chapter in their life that they don't read out loud"

School hallways, shuffling of books, slamming of lockers, PDA from students, all seemed normal, as Jake walks into the narrow hallway.

His eyes flicker throughout the room, scanning it, after all he was used of checking his surroundings for prominent danger, it seemed to be an everyday thing, for the past 3 years, as he walked towards his locker. It's been three years yet the lead of WildFire in a high school seemed endless, whoever WildFire was, surely was invisible. WildFire had made no attempt to attack Jake in the last three years. It was almost as if WildFire had dropped out of the face of the Earth. Jake Storm, now known as the local high school bad boy Jace Star, nobody knew he was a gang leader, but they did fear him, they respected him enough to never stand in his way, with his baby blue eyes and blonde hair, jock like stature, to top it all of his award winning smile that had every girl at Bridge High swoon over him, that drool worthy walk and panty dropping smirk, he was undeniably attractive, a leverage to gain information from almost everybody, for three years he's been trying to find out who Wildfire is exactly, but soon after, there were just too many failed attempts, he knew Wildfire was here, he just didn't know who.

"What's up Jace, you seem lost", asked one of Jake's friends, he was a little bit nerdy but not unpopular no, on the contrary he was even more popular than Jake for that matter, his strawberry blonde hair spiked up to perfection that complimented the side shave he had, his brown eyes glistened like honey as he watched Jake in amusement, his pink tainted lips stretching into a smile as he began opening up his locker which was on the right side of Jake with a big smile, "just checking for Alex, I have no idea what's taking him so long", he replied.

"Maybe he's chasing after that girl again", he mentioned, Jake couldn't help the uneasiness he felt as the guy next to him said this, a pang of hurt seemed to ooze into every cell in his body.

"You'd think he'd learn by now", replied Jake, trying to not show any signs of feelings he had about this situation, he couldn't let anyone know he felt anything or else lots of people could get hurt, if the people he was trying to find, found out about it. "Well if you see him Mateo, please kick his ass this side".

"Sure thing, he's tame but I don't know what it is about that girl, he just can't seem to stand her", closing his locker after grabbing his history textbook, he bid Jake a goodbye before Jake could even comment on what Mateo said about Alex and the girl.

"Watch it nerd", a shriek escaped her lips as Jace watched her. Small, petite and yet under those glasses and baggy clothes, he sensed a beautiful girl, her shyness is what made Jace notice her at first, she was different, she always seemed to forgive people no matter how badly they treated her, Emma Ferrell, she showed her weaknesses but in doing so she was brave in her own way, so many people pretend yet he found honesty in her tepidness. She sat in the library alone during lunch, curled up with a book while eating her sandwiches, he admitted it was crazy but he couldn't help but be attracted to her.

"Sorry, I'm...sorry...it won't happen again", she looked up at the school's local bully also the second best looking guy in school, Alex Hemmington, also Jace's best friend, he came with Jace as backup but they soon became best friends, but Emma quickly ran off to avoid all the stares she's been getting, she was never one to attract attention to herself.

Alex walked over to Jake wearing a smug look, as if he had done a good thing, as Alex began opening his locker, he pulled out his history textbook, "I'm not even going to ask why you choose to attract so much attention by picking on a girl", Jake commented, Alex merely shrugged his shoulder and a look of hurt crossed his face before he wiped it off, wearing a neutral expression, "when she learns to stand up for herself then I'll stop,", Alex looked at Jake for a few seconds before slamming his locker shut and walking away.

Scurrying away, Emma couldn't help the few tears that escaped her eyes, she hated how weak she felt, she hated how Alex would treat her, if only he knew all the secrets she carried and why she was so timid, he'd understand why she would never stand up to him and maybe, just maybe, he would leave her alone.

Her phone suddenly rang, making her sniffle seeing the caller identification, she didn't want him to hear how weak she was so she composed herself before answering the call.

"Hello". She meekly answered.

"What happen? Why does your voice sound so hoarse?".

"Nothing, I just had an ice-cream and you know how it makes my voice", she lied, clearing her throat in the process.

"Emma, I know when something is up, tell me".

"Nothing I promise, I'm fine", she insisted, but knew that nobody would back down in this confrontation.

"Since when have you started lying to me Em?".

"I…I'm not lying to you, really I am fine". She stammered cursing herself for her pathetic attempt at lying her way out of this.

"If Alex is the reason I swear this time I won't leave it Emma, tell me the truth now!".

"Really, it wasn't Alex, I just had an ice-cream that's all, uhm what do you need anyways,", she could tell she was angering him, but what could she do, she didn't want any issues today.

"Fine, don't tell me", he sighed. "We need you tonight, think you can make it?", he enquired changing the topic, which she was grateful for.

"Yeah, what time?", she answered checking her watch on her hand, she hoped she wouldn't have to miss the opportunity to visit the library for the last two free periods she had, she really needed a good book to disappear into.

"I'll let you know, just be ready".

And with that she cut the call, letting out a deep sigh, she hated lying but what could she do? She didn't want any problems or to draw any attention towards herself that could give her away, for she had to do what she had to, she had to fit in and not stand out.
