None of them knew that Mohnish would be there except for Mir obviously who was waiting for them at the huge entrance of the palace. Vinasaka’s eyes noticeably glowed up which everyone noticed and before they could stop him from doing anything inappropriate, he had already jumped down from the horse and started running towards Mir. Mir, who had figured out the oh-so-very-Imay-like gesture was absolutely ready to stop him and he did with his palm sliding in Imay’s hand as a handshake and Viansaka was quite taken aback as to why he was unwillingly made to follow Mir’s lead. When he realised that he wasn’t the prince of this country, he somewhat laughed awkwardly and played along.
It was quite clear to everyone who knew Vinasaka that the one who could manage this guy was none other than Mir and they were indeed thankful for it. Mir and Imay went behind the groom and the procession.
Imay bent towards Mir slightly, about the height of Mir's ears and whispered softly, “Looks like I am the only one who missed us!” His tone of speaking was however not to be confused with some sad one but quite the flirt type, the reason why Mir flushed like a tomato and dared not back at him. Vinasaka, on the other hand, noticed the colour of his ears and chuckled to himself, “You are not replying, why? Cat’s got your tongue?”
“Shut up,” is what Mir said only but Vinasaka knew that he didn’t really mean it. So he went on blabbering all kinds of nonsense, beginning from what happened since they had left the heart kingdom, how much he had missed Mir and more regarding how bored he had been all this while.
The wedding ceremony was peaceful and exceedingly gorgeous. The pavilion where the bride and the groom were supposed to carry out the rituals was so beautifully decorated with diamonds and flowers of the same colour that not a single onlooker could pass without complimenting it. The rituals of the groom were almost over and it was time for the bride to appear. Everyone had been waiting for this moment not only because they were excited to see the bride but the tradition says that the bride is to be carried by her brothers and it wasn’t unknown to the people that the Diamond kingdom had no male heir.
It was definitely a surprise when they made an appearance. The Queen could not stop smiling, even the kings of both the kingdoms and Lord Aryan were quite taken aback when they found that the ones who carried the Crown Princess were Vinasaka, Mir, Mihas and Mohnish. The entire picture looked so happy with all of them smiling that tears rolled down King Saudis’ eyes. The people were awestruck to find something like that but cheered and showered them with petals from all over.
Indeed it was no surprise that the bride was the most beautiful that day. Her lower robe was dark wine with beautiful golden embroidery and her upper robe or the blouse was a bright golden colour. Her face was half covered with her dupatta yet her beauty could not be covered. For a second there, Amir stood there staring and only came out of his trance when he was whispered in his ears by Zaharia.
The exchange of the garland took place and the wedding was also proceeding quite smoothly when Amir whispered beside Novah, “I heard that you have a crush on me….”, noticing her not replying he turned towards her and found her almost starting to bury herself in the ground quietly. He quickly said, “I ,too...umm, am happy that you are my wife.” She suddenly looked at him and stared blankly, “But...I am not ...yet!” “It’s only a matter of time….” she looked away but he managed to catch a glimpse of her smile forming on her red lips.
The priest who was quietly performing the ritual could not bear it anymore and ended up saying, “Youth is nice, isn’t it?” hearing which both of them got pretty embarrassed.
The rest of the wedding went ahead without any problem and after an hour or so with all the rituals finally completed, the royal banquet began. The crown prince and princess sat on their throne receiving gifts from the guests. One of the notable guests was probably the royal family of the Spade kingdom.
As rumours stated they entire family stood out from all the guests present there. It was definitely because of their physical appearance but not because they were outstandingly handsome or beautiful, but more like they were big and voluptuous. Even the female members were comparatively bigger than ordinary average. Their skin was a tint of dusk whereas their features were sharp.
“Congratulations on your wedding...congratulations your majesties,” the Crown prince of Spade kingdom Amish congratulated the bride and the groom followed by their fathers. The current king of the Spade kingdom could not come since he was seriously ill. King Saudis asked about his health and it looked like the condition was not at all better. The two sisters of Prince Amish also introduced themselves. Princess Roohi was the oldest of the siblings and was supposed to be married in a few months. She also introduced the youngest sister princess Soha who happened to be very good friends with Princess Ariah. As soon as they saw each other, they couldn’t stay there anymore and went gossiping together. Where princess Roohi went to talk to the bride about some ‘girl-stuff’, Prince Amish went straight to Mihas.
“Looks like everyone found their friends, haha,” the fathers laughed among themselves.
There were a number of people invited, probably more than a few thousand and most of them turned up except the royal family of the kingdom of Club. There was no news of them and thus the host made a note to inquire about them later. The Club kingdom was quite on good terms with the Hearts kingdom, so Amir wondered what had happened. The kingdom of Club was the only kingdom which declared their next ruler to be the only princess of the empire and therefore, there was quite the uproar. However, all the other three kingdoms offered their full support and thus no opposition could even get a spot. They have always been a friendly nation and the crown princess was very good friends with Amir. They would often talk about politics and about ruling the kingdoms when they met. Therefore, an absence without even a prior notice was too unlikely of them.
The glorious day finally came to an end and after the huge banquet the guests began to leave one by one. The groom’s side was supposed to leave the next morning with the bride. Even the Spades kingdom’s royal family ended up staying the night since travelling such a distance at night could be dangerous. They were sent to a room together which was probably the biggest room in the entire palace after the emperor’s. The room was beautifully decorated but the bed looked so exquisite that it stole the entire attention. With the rose petals scattered in the white bed sheet and the bed was surrounded from the top with white roses and orchids. Both of them stood there with their mouths wide open and blinked several times before they looked at each other. It was supposed to be a shy situation where both of them would blush and then look forward to their wedding night. However, something about their look made both of them suddenly burst out laughing.
“Good decorations out there..” Amir teased.
“Well, we couldn’t have any kind of drawbacks from our side you know,” she replied without faltering.
“How about we spend tonight knowing each other?” Amir suggested as he put his scarf down on the bed.
“Good idea, since you are a bit slow, I guess knowing me is more important now,” she chuckled after saying that while Amir went red from embarrassment.
After changing into something comfortable, they spent the entire night chatting away and they didn’t even realise when they had already fallen deep into sleep with the princess’ head comfortably on his arms.
On the other hand, when everyone retired to their rooms, Vinasaka quietly sneaked out while Mihas was sleeping. He looked almost everywhere, he really had no idea where Mir was. Like an idiot he started whispering as loudly as he could and obviously he didn't get a response. However, as he was passing through the corridor of the 1st floor, he heard a sound. The door of the room which looked like an old storage was wide open and he couldn’t control his curiosity…..like always. He thought whether he should take a peek and before he could decide he already found himself doing that. “Stupid Imay, have some manners,” he smacked himself lightly but continued to look inside nonetheless.
“Your actions seem to say something different,” the light voice at the tip of his ears made him jump in surprise and he crashed into the door, shutting it by mistake. The owner of the voice was none other than Mir. While Vinasaka was finally relieved to have found him, Mir almost screamed in the middle of the night trying to stop the door from closing. Vinasaka quickly covered his mouth, stopping him from shouting but that also prevented him from being able to stop the door from closing.
“Why are you shouting at this hour? I am not some criminal you know!” Imay said in a low voice.
“The door...it has a broken lock,” Mir said calmly as if he had just lost his house, “I didn’t want to break it if I could help it.”
“Then let’s not.” Vinasaka spoke a little later and his change in voice made Mir look at him with a surprised look. He couldn’t just pretend to not understand the meaning of those words. If anything, he understood better than anyone as to what kind of feelings Imay was carrying.
